San Francisco International Film Festival While Southern California is where the heart of the movie industry lies, Northern California is the center of the filmmaking world for a time in April. That is because the San Francisco International Film Festival, the longest-running film festival in the Americas, is held at this time every year. The San Francisco Film Festival, or the SFIFF, is celebrating its 65th iteration this year in what should be a massive and exciting event.

The festival will feature the works of many top filmmakers from every corner of the globe, ranging from pre-screenings of the newest Hollywood hits to Indie darlings from every continent. This year, the SFIFF will take place from April 21st to May 1st at venues across San Francisco. One of the most prominent venues will be the Castro, a historic theater, but films will be screened at various locations.

The SFIFF will typically play host to a massive international audience and showcase films worldwide. There are typically around 200 films from roughly fifty countries screened in various languages. It is an event that draws in huge crowds and major celebrities.
