Valspar Championship Returns to Tampa in Mid-March

Tampa is one of the many stunning cities in Florida, a golf lover’s paradise. The hot sun throughout the year, the Gulf Coast location and the incredible country and golf clubs make it the perfect retreat for those looking to enjoy some of the best golfing in one of the most picturesque settings in the country. If you’re looking for the perfect time to head to the Tampa area and enjoy some golf, there may be no better one than midMarch. This is when the Valspar Championship heads to Tampa for one of the best golf events in the state. The Valspar Championship is an annual PGA Tour tournament that has played host to some incredible drama throughout its existence. The tournament is located in Palm Harbor, Florida, a tiny suburb of Tampa set alongside Saint Joseph Sound. The tournament is a stroke play event at an 18-hole, par-71 course. The prize money is $6,900,000, which is split by the golfers that perform best. The winner takes home a $1,242,000 purse. The Valspar Championship will take place from March 17th to March 20th, and it will feature some of the top golfing talents in the game. While some years the tournament hasn’t put together the best field, this year is set to be a great one. Big names like Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, and defending tournament champion Sam Burns will

be in attendance. Golf fans can expect some serious drama and wild finishes at this event, with a challenging but thrilling course that tests the limits of the golfers competing. This isn’t one of golf’s longest-standing tournaments, starting in 2000 as the Tampa Bay Classic. The tournament would appear at varying points throughout the year, but in 2007 it settled into its current spot in March. In the early days, the tournament struggled to establish itself, dealing with a lack of sponsors and a struggle to find consistency. However, it has become a staple of the PGA Tour and one of Florida’s best and most exciting golfing events in recent years. The tournament has been played at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club since it began, with the Valspar Championship taking place at the Copperhead Course. The Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club is a stunning and perfectly manicured resort with over 900 acres of amenities and an outdoor area. Whether you are a golf lover, enjoy fine dining, want to kick back at a spa, or just explore stunning natural scenery, Innisbrook has something for you. Innisbrook offers four gorgeous courses, but the Copperhead Course is the most famous. The Copperhead Course is a par-71 that covers 7,340 yards. It has become famed amongst the best golfers in the world, but the best-known part of it is the Snake Pit. The Snake Pit is the last three holes of the course that are known for presenting a serious challenge to those competing, an area that is all about angles. The Copperhead Course is a beautiful spot lined with pine trees and is surrounded by lakes and ponds. You can find abundant wildlife nearby with alligators, fox squirrels, bald eagles, and more.

The charitable contributions are overseen by the Copperheads, an organization headed by volunteers, with money going to causes like the Tampa General Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, and other local causes. The Valspar Championship is a massive event that brings a large crowd of golf lovers to the Tampa area. Florida is one of the states best-known for its golfing, and the Valspar Championship is one of the many great events that are a big reason why.
