Build a Bluebird Nest Box Saturday, April 30 at 10am

In the 1960s there was a decline in bluebirds - mainly because they had no place to make their nests. Bluebirds nested in rotting trees, old fence posts and tree cavities all of which are hard to find now - removal of trees, treated wood and competition for trees all have hurried the decline of the bluebird population. A well-built, well placed nest box in your own backyard can boost the local population. Build your own in this workshop. Limited space please pre-register. Fee: $15/ per kit

Ages: 12+
