Hawa then and now It should hardly come as a surprise that our hardware systems perform in even the tightest corners. When Karl and Otto Haab took the reins in 1965, the company’s entire office space was just 6 m2.

But things did not remain that way for long. Focus on top quality and innovative products made the company an ongoing success story. New factory premises were built in the industrial area of Mettmenstetten in 1980, expanded in 1991 and again in 2001. EKU AG in Sirnach joined the Hawa Group in 1992: its around 100 employees are experts in sliding and pullout systems for furniture and interiors. In January 2001, management responsibility at Hawa passed from Karl and Otto Haab to their sons, Gregor and Heinz Haab. Today, our export share lies at around 80% and Hawa has subsidiaries in Dubai, Qatar and the USA. Yet the location of our headquarters and central production facility are proof of our loyalty to Mettmenstetten – not least because our business philosophy continues to build on typical Swiss values such as precision and continuity.
