Building in new constellations Commonality is when a number of individuals enthusiastically sign up for a project and develop a shared understanding of its purpose or alignment. A successful construction project would be virtually unthinkable without commonality and cooperation between planners, tradesmen, manufacturers and building owners – and without team spirit. Working and building as a team has never been more important in a world that turns ever faster.
“We want to grow!” Hawa and EKU become Hawa Sliding Solutions

These new market requirements also demand innovative products. Hawa presents dynamic solutions for versatile cabinets, moving facades and convertible rooms. This world never stands still – there is only progression or regression. We want to move forward. This insight led to our decision to further develop Hawa and EKU as one in the form of Hawa Sliding Solutions AG.

Architecture and trade are changing Architecture production, the role of craftsmen and the position of the construction industry are changing. Construction is increasingly taking place in teams in which all disciplines are integrated – from manufacturer to planner and from installer to end user. The goal: build better together!
4 SLIDE No. 15
Modern architecture production The construction segment is changing at a fast pace. Technical progress and new means of communication lead to shorter cycles of innovation. Different disciplines are merging together: the architect is also an energy planner, the tradesman an IT professional and the construction segment a research institute – to name but a few examples. Thanks to new Building Information Modelling tools, or BIM, everyone involved in the construction project is a partner of equal standing working together on a digital data set.
New professional challenges The architect, often accused in the past of living in an ivory tower, has long since left his lofty abode. Today, communication takes place in the team in which the industry is included as an important partner in the planning process. These trends are compounded by the options offered by Industry 4.0 and Mass Customization – the production of made-to-measure industrialized products. This development is also impacting skilled

crafts and trades – the term Trade 4.0 has not come about by coincidence. It is used to describe the extended options of digitalization such as the use of CNC milling machines, 3D printers and even construction drones. The use of technical software, laptops, tablet PCs and smartphones on the construction site is already standard practice. An ever higher degree of product prefabrication is accelerating the construction process, but it also demands utmost precision on site. The significance of the expert processor or installer is rocketing skywards. The job profile of the architect is also changing as he must either work across various disciplines or find a specialized niche. A trend is emerging as generalists become specialists who occupy a specialized field and can handle multiple tasks facing the team. This is where planners are once again dependent on the expert knowledge of tradesmen.
Between high-tech and low-tech Architecture and skilled trades are currently defined by a balancing act between tradition and modernity. Their actors need to know
Construction in existing contexts Traditional craftsmanship and modern technology work hand in hand in the refurbished residential building in Bern Bümpliz. Page 16
how to use the latest high-tech while still commanding construction methods that are hundreds of years old. Alpine architecture is a prime example of what this challenge actually means. The typologies and materials used have a very long tradition. The trade skills needed to work with them have hardly changed over the centuries. At the same time the Alpine region is also characterized by a very modern architectural scene that reinterprets existing structures and adds modern elements. Traditional materials such as wood, clay, ceramic and textiles are combined with modern materials such as steel, fair-faced concrete and large glass surfaces. The result is a field of tension between old and new, tradition and modernity, simplicity and complexity. Architecture and trade are increasingly becoming disciplines that require the involvement of many different experts and segments. In the future, everyone will practice an interdisciplinary way of thinking and participate in process optimization within the team.
Technical change The technical challenges facing the new construction in Schafisheim were overcome through cooperation – with “accuracy” as the common denominator. Page 12

Hawa and EKU become one
“We want to grow!” Hawa and EKU will become Hawa Sliding Solutions. The new company will appear on the market with both brands as a global provider of sliding solutions. CEOs Gregor Haab and Heinz Haab explain the context and background behind the fusion from a personal viewpoint.
The eight-strong management team of Hawa Sliding Solutions AG (f.l.t.r): Peter Gantenbein, Marketing & Product Management; Ezequiel Di Claudio, Sales & Customer Service; Heinz Haab, Commercial CEO; Gregor Haab, Technical CEO; Michel Leuenberger, Processes & IT; Peter Ettmüller, Research & Development; Roman Zwicker, Finance & Human Resources; Peter Möller, Operations & Logistics

“ We want to be better and secure the future through growth. We will create the basis for this growth by merging the competencies of EKU and Hawa. ” Heinz Haab, CEO
From a legal viewpoint, Hawa Sliding Solutions AG will become a corporation with two operating sites in Mettmenstetten and Sirnach as of 2017. EKU AG already became a part of the Hawa Group in 1992. Gregor Haab and Heinz Haab, the sons of Hawa Company founders Karl and Otto Haab, will continue to jointly manage the family-owned business. The two CEOs have appointed three executives from each of the formerly independent companies to serve on the management board. The signal is clear: two healthy companies of equal standing are forming a partnership. They want to shape the future as a single entity.
On 6 April 2016, you announced the intended fusion between EKU AG and Hawa AG to create Hawa Sliding Solutions AG. What considerations led to your decision? Gregor Haab: The market, conditions and technology are changing. These changes also affect us. We have been successful so far, but want to implement the changes in good time. The past years were pleasing for EKU and Hawa – although more consolidating than expansive. Merging the two companies to form a single entity makes us more relevant and powerful. We want to achieve significant growth once again and aim to become the market and technology leader in the segment for premium sliding hardware for rooms and furniture with a comprehensive product range. Growth brings with it sufficient strength and size to take on new markets and sales channels. In future, our customers will get all they need
from a single source as they will be c ared for by a shared customer service organization. Furthermore, they have access to a broader product range. They will benefit in general from the increased power to innovate resulting from this fusion.
Heinz Haab: Recent developments have kept us on our toes economically given our export share of 80%. The Swiss franc has been significantly overvalued since 2015 and played a role in the decision in favor of a fusion. However, we are and will remain convinced that Switzerland is the right location for us and will use the fusion to get fit for the future. That means becoming leaner, but also channeling the best from both companies into a new whole. For instance, we will take over the ERP IT processes in place at EKU to a large extent and implement them in the new company. EKU is strong in the field of

furniture hardware, Hawa is strong in roomoriented solutions. Sheet metal for the entire company will be formed in Sirnach, turning and milling will be done in Mettmenstetten. Now is the time to join forces, p ro-actively and with full freedom with regard to taking action and making decisions. This is not about shortterm profits, but rather about securing the long-term future of both sites in an independent, family-owned business.
approach. Our program “Sliding solutions – everything from a single source” will bring an all-embracing competence to the market that has not been seen before. Research and development, production, consulting and sales as well as support and logistics are disciplines in which we want to improve our performance. In short: we will be perceived as more dynamic and the market can look forward to real innovations!
Hawa acquired EKU back in 1992 when it was known as Ernst Künzler AG Uzwil and ran the company as EKU AG. What will change when the two companies become one? Heinz Haab: “EKU” and “Hawa” will continue
What will stay the same? Gregor Haab: Many things will stay the same –
as product brands of Hawa Sliding Solutions. Ranges and products, however, will be carefully aligned with each other, duplication eliminated and brand profiles honed. We will exploit the synergies of processes, procurement and sales activities. The sources freed up in this manner will be used to expand activities in the relevant markets. Our success in the Middle East and the USA confirm our

our comprehensive claim to quality, for instance, or our pursuit of progress: ten percent of our employees are involved with research and development, and that puts us in a good position. We want to continue to actively shape our future, not just by participating in trends but also by setting them. The typical family spirit will also continue. Like the two of us, most of our employees feel a strong sense of identification with the company. This spirit has also grown continuously at EKU since 1992. Our employees like to call themselves
“Hawaians”. That is more than just a play on words – it is a mind-set! To us, our companies are our home and inspiration, an obligation but also a joy. This vitality will live on!
Despite all the harmony between the corporate cultures: commonality must grow; it cannot be simply conjured up per 1 January 2017. Gregor Haab: The key lies in the mutual trust we nurture in both companies. We bank on the understanding and openness of our workforce – and do our best to contribute to these values ourselves. The transition process demands good communication, clear reasoning, honesty and a high level of transparency – and the physical presence of management, time and again. Mistakes will be made; that is unavoidable. We expect all involved to handle them with a high degree of objectiveness. From a formal, legal viewpoint the fusion will take place on 1 January 2017. But when it comes to integration, the fusion of values and cultures, communication and processes, we want to give ourselves a period of at least

A lot of work internally – and a lot of work externally: How do you communicate the fusion of the two brands? Heinz Haab: By showing we are on the move! We make it clear why we are moving – and where we are going. That is the external communication task. The brand message of Hawa Sliding Solutions AG is technological and market leadership in the design of rooms and furniture. We consider ourselves validated in this regard through our comprehensive range of sliding solutions.
Gregor Haab: The responses to our messages are so far positive and encouraging across the board. Our customers believe we are on the right track and are happy to accompany us. That makes it a pleasure to go new ways!
The new company logo emphasizes our claim to market and technology leadership for sliding solutions. It also stands for our relationship with our customers that is characterized by commitment and partnership. The two surfaces in red and blue create a spatial visual effect and symbolise our drive and flexibility.

“Hand in Hand” – a constructed example Ich A mix of quality, design, deadlines and cost pressure makes it essential for trades to work hand in hand. That means communicating, understanding each other, defining and achieving shared goals. This form of cooperation led to perfect sliding solutions in a multi-family house in Schafisheim, Switzerland.

Teamwork
“ As this construction goes to show: competent and reliable construction partners make unusual precision solutions possible. ” Christoph Faes, project manager, Setz Architektur, Rupperswil
Today, planners and architects have no choice but to network their design processes and integrate different building activities. The underlying idea is the over-arching integration of data and sub-processes. C onstruction used to be like a cascade, taking place step by step – from building owner to architect, from project manager to foreman and tradesmen. A well-organized “togetherness” is replacing this chain of individual steps to an ever greater extent. In other words, a combined approach to reach ambitious goals together. This “togetherness” led to the exemplary implementation of an exclusive sliding solution in two multi-family houses of identical design in Schafisheim.
Sought together – found together The living concept in these houses is based on openness, space, light and flexible use. The experienced building owner contributed directly towards the planning process by expressing concrete, detailed wishes. The architect was responsible for implementing them in the plans. The parties involved got together at an early phase to jointly define the way ahead. The matter in hand was flexible room partitions. The crux of the matter was not the classic sliding solutions for bathrooms and storage spaces, but rather separating living activities from cooking activities. Whether open or closed – the building owner wanted high light

transmittance combined with a discrete appearance. “It was like trying to square the circle”, project manager Christoph Faes says wryly, looking back. Together they found the solution: room-high sliding glass doors with no frame, architrave or threshold and with no visible technology – the top track is incorporated in and flush with the ceiling. This solution guarantees ideal light transmittance.
Perfection achieved Implementation required utmost precision and a comprehensive understanding of quality from all involved. A sliding door that seems to

hover: opens at the slightest touch, closes without a sound – simply perfect. The laminated safety glass pane is held securely in place without exerting any pressure on the PVB film thanks to the form-fitting suspension of the HAWA-Junior 80/GP. The pane remains firmly anchored in the suspension unit even when it gets warm. Fitting the prepared door is as simple as can be: “ We didn't even have to make use of the full tolerance compensation when suspending the pane ”, says pleased project manager Christoph Faes about the result of the successful collaboration.

Precision is trump The HAWA-Adapto inset profile system is incorporated flush in the poured ceiling. There is no need to drill holes in the finished ceiling. This eliminates the risk of damaged supply lines or reinforcement bars that impede work.
The HAWA-Adapto profile is attached to the shuttering using mounting clips. Precision is top priority.

Gentle renovation – functional enhancement The old house in Bern’s Bümpliz district can live on. Carefully converted and renovated, it is now well equipped for many years to come. Its access balcony with the perforated doors is an architectural jewel – and the residents love it. When Bümpliz was still a village, its residents would meet at the general grocer's store. Shopping, gossiping, residing, living life – the house at Bümplizstrasse 98 provided the setting for them all. It earned the respect bestowed upon it by the current building owner – Immobilien der Stadt Bern (ISB) – and architects’ firm Kast Kaeppeli Architekten of Bern during its conversion. Although the historic preservation authority did not want to supervise the renovation, the architects nonetheless oriented their concept consistently on the original. The initial idea of gutting the house was discarded in favor of maintaining its special architectural features. What remained

bears witness to Helvetian architecture at the turn of the century. Today, three apartments meet modern demands on comfort and the glazed access balcony represents special added value. The renovation was voted the best conversion of 2016 by Swiss magazine “Umbauen und Renovieren”.
Change a little – gain a lot The house once contained a number of tiny apartments on the three levels above the shop with 8 rooms on each floor. Removing a number of walls created three apartments, one on each level, with four rooms arranged around a cross shape. They are accessible via the access balcony on the west side. Four previously bricked-in windows were opened up again and the missing shutters replaced with a design true to the original. Architect Thomas Kaeppeli says: “We wanted to design generous and flexible apartments making as few changes as possible.” Sliding door solutions on the inside helped make the best use of the tight spatial conditions. In contrast, the access
balcony is ideally illuminated by a window band with a total of nine units – sliding shutters protect from the sun.
One stationary – two movable These sliding shutters are arranged in three packets of three. The shutter directly adjacent to the house is stationary, the two above it can be moved by a maximum of two window units. The structural solution was achieved with a double track guide system, the HAWA-Frontslide 60/A. A filigree frame surrounds the window element on the outside; the top tracks are attached behind the wood cover on the upper frieze. The reveal was attached at a distance so that rain can run off through the gaps. The unadorned wooden frame protects the historic character of the facade while also concealing the weather-proof sliding hardware components. Kaeppeli: “We were able to give the old house an additional discrete function and thus enhance its value. This elegant solution was made possible by modern sliding hardware.”

Living style
Solidity and openness The facade and internal rooms appear solid yet characterized by lightness. Large inset sliding elements fitted with the HAWA-Junior 120/B hardware made a major contribution towards implementing the design concept. The residential block with 23 apartments and a sheltered apartment for the Lebenshilfe Ingolstadt association that creates living space for disabled people stands out through the use of a few striking materials and its unadorned elegance. While the ground floor and 1st floor consist of maisonette apartments with direct access, the apartments on the two upper levels are entered via access balconies. Their wide fair-faced concrete elements and sculptural concrete staircases give the building its characteristic appearance. The tension between enclosed and open spaces is emphasized by full surface glazing between the concrete bands to protect the stairwells. The internal rooms are
characterized by a reduction in the use of materials. Room-high windows and sliding elements create an effect of open space. Circulation areas were intentionally omitted from the layout plans to make the most efficient use of the available space. Room functions are separated directly by the sliding elements. The large-surface sliding doors are suspended from the ceiling by means of a single HAWA-Junior 120/B top track in anodized metal. The parquet flooring runs continuously through the entire apartment. This is made possible by a rattle-proof floor guide. Despite high-quality details such as parquet flooring, design-defining sliding elements and the special language of architecture, Blauwerk’s architects have managed to realize something special through their creativity within the cost budget available to subsidized housing.

Moving facades Aesthetic appeal, energy efficiency, sustainability and convenience: the demands placed on modern facades are high. Sliding and folding/sliding systems can solve a number of issues in one fell swoop. Facade as the face of a building Derived from the latin “facies”, or face, the facade plays a pivotal role with regard to placing a building in a given context – be it urban, functional, historical, societal, technological or, of course, architectural in nature. The facade has always determined a building's characteristic appearance. It offers protection from atmospheric influences such as cold, precipitation, wind and heat, doubles up as a privacy and noise screen and enables interaction with the environment. For architects, it is also a projection screen for creative, designoriented expression. For building owners, the facade always conveys an image. A rchitecture communicates through the facade.
and sliding solutions for facade openings combine varying demands on climate friendliness, energy efficiency and sustainability with a high degree of convenience and comfort. Flexible systems allow the control of closed and open surface areas – and therefore the amount of incoming light and warmth – to suit the needs of the occupants.
Movable openness Every facade is always an expression of its time – it is subject to the architect's creative will, expresses the building's function, bears reference to surrounding buildings and makes a statement. A natural stone facade stands for solid, timeless elegance. Glass facades express modernity and
transparency. Wood is used to convey a natural construction method. Materials define facades and arouse emotions. The list of emotions and characteristics has now been extended further still by a new generation of facade systems: moving systems, for which Hawa manufactures complete hardware solutions, are currently very much the trend. The user can adjust them as he sees fit to suit the season and time of day, depending on the weather and amount of sunshine. The different shutter positions lend the building an open and inviting appearance but also offer the option of closing out the world. The building can reveal or conceal its face from the observer.
Energy efficiency The building envelope as the interface between the exterior and interior or outdoor and indoor climate is decisive for the building's energy consumption. The envelope determines how much daylight is let into the building and controls the input of solar energy and the flow of warmth. The visual and thermal comfort of a building therefore always depends on the design and degree of openness of the facade. New folding

Folding sliding shutters at La Maison The architects from CBAG.studio refurbished a historic villa and added a modern extension for the La Maison hotel project. Hotel La Maison is now open to guests. Not only do the storey-high folding sliding shutters with the automated HAWA-Frontego 30/matic sliding hardware offer protection from sun and noise, they are also an important element of design: guests can influence the appearance of the facade simply by opening and closing the shutters. As a complete provider of sliding solutions for the facade, Hawa's range includes the automated hardware system HAWA-Frontego 30/matic for flush-front folding sliding shutters weighing up to 30 kg. The system can take up to six panels and runs reliably, quietly and trouble-free on invisible technology, even under demanding climatic conditions. Advantageous details such as pre-assembly, less space requirement and burglar resistance are appreciated by processors, architects and building owners.
Light falling through the folding sliding shutters creates artistic effects in the modern extension. New York Times accolade The New York Times has named the Hotel La Maison as one of the eight European hotels where guests really feel at home. HAWA-Junior 80/B-Pocket for wooden sliding doors
THE solution for pocket solutions The new HAWA-Junior 80/B-Pocket offers architects and installers flexibility with regard to wall pocket designs. The accessories can be replaced or added retrospectively at any time. The HAWA-Junior 80/B-Pocket is the ideal sliding hardware for elegant pocket solutions in combination with aesthetically appealing design variants.
Opening a sliding door and making it disappear into a wall pocket is a clean solution. However, replacing or adding accessories contained in the top track was a problem until now if the top track was inaccessible. The HAWA-Junior 80/B-Pocket heralds a ground-breaking innovation to make the work process significantly easier.
Installation in two steps The first step consists merely of installing a retainer profile during
24 SLIDE No. 16
the construction of the wall pocket. When the sliding door is installed, a rattle-proof bayonet lock makes it possible to simply slide the top track into the pocket and slide it out again when necessary. Every component contained inside the top track is always accessible. All that needs to be ensured is that the diagonal of the door opening is at least the same length as the top track to allow the top track to be removed.
The soft closing mechanism, track bumper and carriage can be replaced or supplemented by adding new systems at any time. Another benefit: the track’s bearing surface is not contaminated during the construction phase. There is also a separating layer between the top track and the retainer profile to reduce any annoying transmission of vibration and noise. It also guarantees a rattle-proof installation of the top track.
Installing the door The suspension’s pivot point is located outside of the door and can be pushed towards the center of the door during instal-
lation. This means no loss of space even in shallower pockets. Any adjustments to the door can also be made when it has been pushed into the pocket to guarantee perfect alignment. The new door ejector that is also available enables the edge of the door to be designed without any visible hardware components such as locks or finger grips. It makes the HAWA-Junior 80/BPocket all the more attractive for aesthetically demanding, filigree interior architecture. The new hardware will replace the longserving HAWA-Junior 80/B as of 2017. The practical soft closing mechanism HAWA-SoftMove 80 can also be used in this context.

Multi-functional rooms: The kitchen in the living room Pivot, fold and slide: create multi-functional rooms with the intelligent solutions of the HAWA-Concepta family.
Flexible living and office solutions are gaining ever greater importance. Firstly, space is rapidly becoming a luxury item, especially in cities; secondly, the clear separation of work and private life become blurred. Multifunctional room concepts that allow the users themselves to choose between various situations with just a few hand movements are therefore gaining popularity. Pivot, fold and slide-in solutions have the potential to create space-saving double functions and thus enhance the usefulness and convenience of rooms.

Operating comfort is increased further still by stable guide rollers and a soft closing mechanism. All adjustments, even on completely integrated systems, are made conveniently from the front without dismantling any furniture parts. Installers in particular will be very happy as it makes even heavy doors easy to install and convenient to adjust.
Creating rooms Cabinet, mini-bar and home office can be opened without a single door jutting into the room. Designing room-high systems without a cabinet body easily and efficiently is possible thanks to HAWA-Concepta and HAWA-Folding Concepta. That makes these hardware systems the ideal solution for home, office, hotel or shop if certain functions need to be integrated that are not in permanent use.
HAWA-Concepta unites the movements of pivoting, sliding-in and folding – the latter with HAWA-Folding Concepta 25 – in perfection. The pivot and fold/slide-in doors are very easy

A well-designed hardware system was successfully launched on the market in the form of the HAWA-Concepta Family. It enables various different designs, is safe and easy to use and very simple for the installer to plan and work with.
HAWA-Concepta 25/30/40/50 opens doors the conventional way by 90 degrees and then makes them disappear into a recess.

Architecture Biennale 2016
“Perfect technical solutions are embedded in the Swiss DNA.” Italian architect Maria Alessandra Segantini and the kitchen @home designed by her firm c+s architects play an important role in Hawa's new corporate video. In addition, c+s is currently displaying the “eduCARE” exhibit at the Biennale in Venice. Ms Segantini, this year your firm received an invitation to the Biennale in V enice. An honor no doubt, but also a burden? It is a great honor for us and also an opportunity to reflect critically on what we do.
The eduCARE you are exhibiting in Venice is a floating gangway in the shape of a helix. What is the idea behind it? 15 years ago, we discovered that the school buildings in Italy were in a miserable state: they looked like boxes stubbornly designed according to standards. There was no room for proper architecture. Through our commitment, we have managed to make schools once again an important meeting place within the expanding towns and cities. We are reflecting on this process at the Biennale.
We took a lot of input home with us from the Biennale – in particular through our exchanges with other architects during the set-up phase.
Two years ago you designed an unconventional kitchen for Elmar in the form of the @home concept. Hardware from Hawa was used in the design. How did you become aware of the products and what convinced you to use them?
What will happen with eduCARE when the Biennale is over?
The hardware from Hawa was exactly the piece that was missing from the puzzle. When we designed the kitchen, we imagined a cabinet that becomes a part of the room when opened. The doors had to disappear to achieve this effect – and that was exactly what the folding sliding hardware from Hawa made possible. In my opinion, only Swiss companies like Hawa can create such perfect technical solutions. It seems to be embedded in the Swiss DNA!
We want to sell the structure and use the proceeds to realize a school project in Tanzania or Kenya.
Have you used any other hardware from Hawa in the kitchen?
Is the Biennale simply an architectural exhibition or were you able to take some input home with you?
So far no, but I think that our design ideas and the technical solutions from Hawa are a perfect match. Who knows what the future holds…

4th International Hawa Student Award 2017
More than a roof over one’s head Award for budding designers: Hawa launched the fourth edition of the Hawa Student Award in February 2016.
The Hawa Student Award 2017 focuses on one of the most pressing issues of our time – providing people with affordable living space. Global cities are booming and experiencing enormous growth as a result. Ever more city-dwellers are no longer financially able to afford perpetually rising rental costs: the social gap continues to widen. In addition to political efforts to subsidize housing construction, it is the construction industry that must heed the call to create cost-effective living space for a wide range of user groups through innovative ideas and concepts as well as future-oriented technologies and processes. Hawa wants to contribute today towards sensitizing the architects of tomorrow to social issues.
Creative ideas wanted for emergency and social housing Within the scope of the competition, the plan is to develop a future-oriented housing concept for a specific plot in Zurich. The goal is to find a high-quality architectural solution that provides a sustainable contribution to the culture of construction despite a limited budget. At the end of this year, a reputable international jury of experts consisting of Prof. Marianne Burkhalter (Università della Svizzera italiana Mendrisio), Prof. Hans Gangoly (Graz University of Technology), Prof. Hermann Kaufmann (Technical University of Munich), Prof. Hubert Klumpner (ETH Zurich), Prof. Meinrad Morger (Technische Universität Darmstadt) and Prof. András Pálffy (Vienna University of Technology) will judge the entries currently being developed by the participating students.
Dates: – Preparation period until October 2016 – Jury meeting November 2016 – Award presentation March 2017

New calculation tool
The angled profile for the HAWAJunior 80/120 has been redesigned. It is now even easier to slide in the top track as the slot nuts are no longer able to twist and turn. The new profile is also extendible using plugged connections.
Glass doors in particular can begin to rattle annoyingly around the floor guide when exposed to a strong draft. Hawa has developed a new type of floor guide for glass doors to counteract this effect. Rollers that move sideways stabilize the doors resting on the guide, but still guarantee excellent ease of use and impeccable gliding properties. The new floor guide will be included in every HAWA-Telescopic 80/G set as of 2017. It can also be retrofitted to existing doors.
At the beginning of June, Hawa organized a guided tour for architects of the La Maison Hotel in Saarlouis, Germany. Achim Gergen of CBAG.studio guided the tour through the building he designed and showed the project highlights on location.
The HAWA-Concepta pivot/ slide-in hardware makes doors disappear. Good preparation is a must to ensure this works without any problems once the cabinet is installed. The new planning tool allows the planner to calculate the right weight class quickly and generate a customized HAWA-Concepta blueprint.
The profile’s new puristic design blends in perfectly with modern interior designs. The matching cover cap now has an anodized finish and is screwed invisibly into place instead of being pushed into position. Both new features will replace the existing products as of 2017.
