We’ve been fortunate to have worked with the crew at Vissla, DaFin and Kanekoa Crabbe, Left to Right Keoni (vissla), the event director Kenu & Grom (DaFin), Kanekoa for the 2016 Point (event director) Panic Body Surfing Contest. The event registration was at Hawaiian South Shore. I was worried about having the signup at the shop, but the turnout was awesome. Kanekoa was at the shop all day greeting people as they came in. Man, he’s a hardworking guy for sure. No slacking — I’m always stoked to see him in action.

Congratulations to B.K Holt & Kai Santos for winning the Bodysurfing & Hand-boarding Divisions of the 2016 Point Panic Experience! These individuals were also the only two wave riders who advanced to both final heats on both days of the competition. Though the surf was small, clean and somewhat inconsistent, all 50+ contestants took full advantage of the opportunity provided. From a fired-up 11-year-old beach entry grommet, to the handful of elders in their 60s, these pure wave riders came to Point Panic from the islands of Hawaii and Kauai, Australia, North & South America and various locations on Oahu. - Vissla

Health and balance bracelets have become all the rage over the past 10 years, and for good reason. They are affordable, easy to wear, and raise your awareness about your state of health. They may or may not be scientifically valid—there are arguments on both sides—but even if they simply work through the placebo effect, the fact that they are working is what’s important. We have been carrying the Core Balance ion bracelet at Hawaiian South Shore for a number of years, and are pleasantly surprised by all of the people who stop by to tell us how well the bracelets work for them. The product has a lot of advocates, including a number of Hawaiian South Shore regulars who have seen direct health benefits from wearing them. One of our customers the other day brought her elderly mother in looking for a Core Balance bracelet, as she suffers from vertigo and had been leant a bracelet by her Handi Van driver. The effects were so beneficial that when she had to return the bracelet to the man who had loaned it to her, she immediately went out to find one of her own! We were happy to point her in the right direction and get her fitted with one that matched the style she was going for! Whether you are looking for a relief from stress, improved spatial awareness, or a shot of energy to help keep you going through tough times, the Core Balance ion bracelet is an easy way to right your energy field and improve your health on a cellular level. It is lightweight and comfortable, so you’ll almost forget it’s there, but comes in a variety of stylish designs so that you can thrive without sacrificing style. It improves your mood and health, boosting your immune system to keep you in fighting shape during flue season or any stressful period. And to top it off, its an interesting conversation piece, because a lot of people aren’t yet aware of how beneficial the ion bracelets can be. While most bracelets are little more than fashion pieces, the Core Balance bracelet looks great and makes you feel even better. Check one out today! 320 Ward Ave Tel (808) 597-9055 Open: Mon - Sat 10:30-7:00 / Sun 10-6 www.hawaiiansouthshore.com
