The Ian MacMillan Writing Awards take place once a year. With $500 prizes for first-place winners in fiction, poetry, and our latest award category—creative nonfiction—the contest is open to both members of the University of Hawaiʻi system and members of the larger literary community (you just need to purchase an issue of the journal to enter if you don’t have a current and valid UH ID number)!
