Are You Clear About This Course? Essentially this course has 2 or more weekly assignments. These are usually brief. Use the Course Calendar and Course Schedule to keep up with assignment due dates. There are two major projects required in this course: Database Evaluation – Due February 24, 2009 by 11:55pm Research Project – Due March 31, 2009 by 11:55pm Around the mid-part of the course you will need to do a Database Evaluation. A sample is provided. There is a new option for this assignment, if you are interested in creating a JING instead of the more ‘traditional’ assignment. Contact Ms Hawkins if you are interested. Each week you will develop the skills needed to complete this assignment. The other major grade is the Research Project. It is not a paper. It is a annotated bibliography that consists of 4 websites and 1 MCC database. This project will incorporate all you have learned about evaluating resources, building citations and locating resources. Each weekly Discussion Post will prepare you to use the analytical skills you need to turn in a successful project. Please note that while the Discussion Posts are not worth much, they do total up and are worth a significant portion of your total grade. They are fairly easy and it would be a shame to ‘loose’ easy points. This research project is best done over the semester. Some of the ‘smaller’ assignments are building blocks of the final project. Do not wait until the last minute.
