VCE-002 ISLANDS OF MURANO & BURANO Duration: 5.00 Hrs

Tour Price: $115.00

Date: July 13, 2014 08:00 AM Depart from the pier by private motor launch for a tour of the northern lagoon. Your first stop will be in Murano. Here, guests will have the opportunity to see a true artist and master craftsman of glass works in action at a glass factory. The glass furnaces were moved here from Venice in 1291. Aristocrats, who lived in Murano, were known as Uomini di grande abilitĂ (men of great ability) according to medieval tradition, and it was they who founded the Church of Santa Maria. In 1291, Murano became the island base of a glass-blowers' guild. Craftsmen were practically kept prisoner here, not infrequently by force, to preserve the secret of the glass-blower's art. The visit will continue with a short walk in Burano, a fishing island where all the houses are painted in different bright colors. This little island is also famous for its lace. The lace-makers sit working in front of the doors of their houses, while others have stalls, selling filet embroidery, crochet and bobbin work, blankets and garments. The famous sewn lace and bone lace gave the island a certain amount of wealth from the 15th until the late 18th century. When lace-makers from Burano were sent to Belgium and France, Burano lost its lace-making monopoly, the skill was almost forgotten and the families were reduced to poverty. But in 1870, a lace-making school was founded and the young women were once again taught this traditional handicraft. Painters and writers have always been attracted by the enchanting appeal of Burano. Please note: This tour includes approximately 2 hours of moderate walking. Therefore, this tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility.

OPTIONAL SHORE EXCURSIONS VCE-003 ST. MARK'S SQUARE & DOGE'S PALACE Duration: 3.50 Hrs

Tour Price: $175.00

Date: July 13, 2014 08:20 AM If you have never been to Venice before, this tour is a wonderful introduction to perhaps its most famous attraction - St. Mark's Square. Arriving by motor launch, you will approach the square on foot, crossing over several classic Venetian-style bridges. St. Mark's Basilica, one of the world's finest examples of Byzantine architecture, dominates the square. Begun in the late 11th century to replace a more modest church, it was used solely by the Doge for state ceremonies, only becoming the city's cathedral in 1807. Inside, note the gilded mosaics, intricately patterned floors, and Golden Pall altarpiece, a Gothic masterpiece embedded with gems. While your guide will explain the history and features from the exterior of the Cathedral, your inside visit is not guided. In the nearby Doge's Palace, which served as a residence for the rulers of Venice, you will climb the enormous Stairway of the Giants. It leads to several rooms richly decorated with paintings by masters such as Tintoretto and Titian. Afterwards, cross over the infamous Bridge of Sighs to the ancient prison on the other side, which once held inmates including Casanova. Please note: This tour involves approximately 2-hours of extensive walking and standing. This tour is not available to wheelchair guests and not recommended for those with mobility concerns. Proper attire is required for an interior visit to the Church and clothing must cover the shoulders and knees. Flat, comfortable walking shoes are strongly suggested. Guests are encouraged not to bring excessive or large bags with them as there are extensive security searches at the Doges' Palace and Cathedral. The Cathedral is not open for interior visits on Sundays. VCE-006 HIDDEN TREASURES OF VENICE Duration: 4.00 Hrs

Tour Price: $265.00

Date: July 13, 2014 08:30 AM Embarking your water taxi at the pier terminal, you will travel a short distance to the Rio de la Frescada canal, crossing a small portion of the Grand Canal along your way. Disembarking your boat, you'll be met by your tour guide and begin your walking tour of some of Venice's hidden treasures. The first landmark site you will encounter is Scuola Grande Di San Rocco. Construction on this building was completed in 1549 and it was originally set-up as a charitable institute for the sick. The institute was financed largely by donations obtained from local Venetians who believed that St. Roch, the patron saint of contagious diseases, would then save them from the plague. The faรงade of the building is an interesting mix of various architectural styles and includes an array of precious marble that has come from throughout the Mediterranean area. This stop will be an outside visit only. Traveling on, you will reach and enter the Chiesa Dei Frari, referred to by all as simply the Frari. Although the exterior of this massive Gothic church that dominates the eastern section of the San Polo district is somewhat austere, the interior is simply amazing. Not only striking for its sheer size, there is a marvelous collection of art work to be found here. This includes masterpieces by Titian and Giovanni Bellini, a statue by Donatello and a number of imposing monuments dedicated to famous Venetians: doges, artists and condottieri. Your walking tour next takes you through the Campo San Polo and Rialto areas. Considered by most to be the most colorful part of the city, Rialto has always traditionally been the city's commercial quarter where bankers, brokers and merchants conducted their business. Today, the market here continues to sell fresh fish and vegetables from Tuesday through Saturday. It is in this location more than any other in the city that you will truly witness the taste and smell of the real atmosphere that is Venice. From here your tour will cross over the famous Ponte di Rialto where you will almost always find large numbers of people crossing the bridge. It is a favorite spot to browse for souvenirs or merely take in the spectacular views of the Grand Canal that are offered from the bridge's balustrades. Built between 1588 and 1591, the bridge had been the only means of crossing the Grand Canal on foot until the Accademia Bridge was constructed in 1854. Passing over the bridge, you'll arrive at Piazza San Marco where you will have free time before it's time to board your water taxi for the transfer back to the pier. Please note: There is approximately 2 1/2 hours of moderate walking and/or standing, mostly on flat surfaces. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and those guests with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of ability and stamina. Lightweight clothing, hats and flat, comfortable walking shoes are suggested. Suitable attire is required to enter churches. Shorts are not permitted and shoulders must be covered. There will only be an external view of the Frari church on Sundays.

Tour Price: $205.00

Date: July 13, 2014 08:40 AM Depart the terminal by private motor launch to reach St. Mark's basin. Along the way, your tour will pass between "Zattere" and the island of "Giudecca" which derives its name because it was the location of the first Jewish colony in Italy. Zattere is the location of the Church of Gesuati, best known for several 'paintings of special interest' by the renowned artist, Tiepolo, while on the island of Giudecca. Zattere is also the location the Church of the Redentore (Christ the Redeemer) which was built in the 16th century by the famous architect Palladio as a votive temple after the end of the 1576 plague. Once ashore and after a short walk, you'll reach St. Mark's Square, which was the political and religious center of the city during the period of the Serenissima Republic. Your first visit is at the Doges Palace (private residence of the Doge, seat of Government and Court of Justice). On the first floor were the offices while the second floor contained four large meeting rooms for the members of government as well as the private apartment of the Doge. On the third floor were the great assembly halls. The original palace was built in Byzantine-style in the 9th century, however the palace has been repeatedly destroyed by fires throughout the centuries. It was last rebuilt in the 14th century, in Gothic style. Your guide will also tell you about the foundation of Venice, from the Attila invasion (obliging Veneto people to take refuge amongst the islands of the lagoon in the 5th century) up to the year 1797, when last Doge Ludovico Manin handed over power to the French. You will also be accompanied by your guide as you walk throughout the beautiful rooms with fantastic ceiling decorations and well-known paintings by Titian, Tiepolo, Tintoretto, Carpaccio and Veronese. At the end of the visit, from the Hall of Magistrature you will pass over the Bridge of Sighs, a covered passage extending over the canal between the palace and the ancient prison. The next segment of your tour takes you to the Cathedral of St. Mark; built on the plan of a Greek Cross to house the body of St. Mark, which had been smuggled out of Alexandria. The facades show traces of different architectural styles and on the main facade you can see the Four Horses, which were taken in Byzantium in 1204. At the end of the visit, you will enjoy an approximately 40-minute gondola ride throughout parts of the Grand Canal and narrow canals around the St. Mark's area. The tour concludes with a private motor launch return visit to the ship. Please note: This tour involves approximately 2-hours of extensive walking and standing. This tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility. Guests are strongly encouraged to wear proper attire for an interior visit to the Church (no interior visits are permitted on Sundays due to services being held), and are further encouraged to wear clothing that covers the shoulders and knees. Guests are encouraged not to bring excessive or large bags with them, in order to avoid having to have the bags searched by the security at the Doges' Palace and Cathedral. The gondola ride is subject to favorable and cooperative weather, and thus subject to last-minute cancellation. In this event, an hour of leisure will be substituted. The seating on the gondola is based on a maximum of 6 people and on some gondolas, 2 seats may be on benches one in front of the other. VCE-005 LEISURELY VENICE Duration: 4.00 Hrs

OPTIONAL SHORE EXCURSIONS VCE-007 VENETIAN PALACES Duration: 4.00 Hrs

Tour Price: $225.00

Date: July 13, 2014 09:30 AM Depart the ship by private motor launch with the guidance of an English-speaking guide. Guests will have the opportunity to visit two of the finest palaces in Venice and admire their architecture and preciously decorated interiors: Ca' Rezzonico and Scuola Grande dei Carmini. Ca' Rezzonico, the Museum of Eighteenth-Century Venice since 1934, is one of the most splendid Palaces in Venice. It is also one of the few in the city which opens its doors to the public. The building was begun by Baldassarre Longhena (also the architect of La Salute) in 1667, but the funds of the Bon family, who commissioned it, ran dry before the second floor was started. In 1712, long after Longhena's death, the unfinished palace was bought by the Rezzonicos, a family of merchants-turned-bankers from Genoa. A large portion of the Rezzonico fortune was spent on the purchase, construction and decoration of the palace. By 1758 it was finally ready for the Rezzonicos to throw the first of the huge banquets and celebratory parties for which they later became renowned. By 1888 the palace was bought by the poet Robert Browning and his son, Pen, who was married to an American heiress. The most outstanding attraction in the palace today is the Giorgio Massari's ballroom, with rich chandeliers, frescoes and carved furniture. The Carmini School is the last of eight Grand Schools surviving in Venice that date back to the fall of the Venetian Republic (whether one refers to its founding date or to its recognition under the title of "Grand"). In fact, out of the first six Grand Schools, the Carmini School was the last one to be recognized as "Grand School" (Scola Magna) by the Council of Ten in 1767. The objective of the school consisted of giving religious and economic support to the confraternity brothers, the distribution of alms to the poor and ill, as well as taking part in their funerals. It also furnished dowries for girls either for their weddings or for their monastic professions. With the exception of the members of the nobility and of the religious sector, the confraternity brothers were lay persons and members of society. The original antique furnishings inside the halls of the school have been entirely preserved and consist of important oil paintings, rich stucco ceilings and original embroidered and carved wood. At the conclusion of your tour, some free time will be given before returning to the ship by private motor launches. Please note: This tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility, as it involves approximately 2 hours of extensive walking or standing. In the event Ca' Rezzonico and Scuola Grande dei Carmini are unavailable for a visit, they will be substituted with a similar palace. VCE-009 GRAND CANAL AND THE GUGGENHEIM COLLECTION Duration: 4.00 Hrs

Tour Price: $145.00

Date: July 13, 2014 09:30 AM Your tour will depart from the pier by a private motor launch and cruise the Grand Canal, enjoying views of beautiful palaces and churches reflecting their facades on this major waterway. The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is housed in the unfinished Palazzo Venier dei Leoni which was Peggy Guggenheim's home for 30 years. Today, her private collection includes favorite works of modernist movement artists such as Brancusi, De Chirico, Max Ernst, and Malevich. Your visit at the Guggenheim Museum will last approximately 90-minutes. Following your visit, you will enjoy an easy stroll from the Guggenheim to St. Mark where from here, you can re-board your private motor launch to complete your tour of the Grand Canal and return to the pier via Canale della Giudecca. Please note: Guides will provide commentary onboard the motor launch. This tour does not operate on Tuesdays. VCE-011 CONTEMPORARY ART & GONDOLA CRUISE Duration: 3.50 Hrs

Tour Price: $225.00

Date: July 13, 2014 09:30 AM A short boat ride brings you to Zattere Pontoon, from where you will walk to the museum. Here, you will behold a selection of works from the collection of Franรงois Pinault, a successful entrepreneur whose business endeavors include acquisition of the Gucci Group and control of Christie's auction house. Pinault's business sense is complemented by a passion for art, and over the years Pinault has amassed one of the largest collections of contemporary art in the world. To share his love for art with fellow enthusiasts, Pinault acquired the prestigious Palazzo Grassi in Venice. Later, he was selected by the City of Venice to transform Punta della Dogana into a center for contemporary art, where his collection could be on permanent display. Among the twenty artists in the exhibition In Praise of Doubt, almost half of them have never been included in previous exhibitions of the Franรงois Pinault Collection. With canals that are as integral to its character as its art, Venice must be explored by gondola. So we have arranged for you to enjoy a brief gondola cruise before returning to your ship. Please note: As this excursion involves stair climbing at the museum and embarking and disembarking a vessel that sits low in the water, it is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties or physical limitations. It is recommended that guests dress in casual clothing and wear flat, comfortable shoes. Although it is not anticipated that you will get wet on this excursion, any electronic devices (such as MP3 players, cell phones, cameras, etc.), as well as any valuable items must be stored in a sealable, waterproof dry bag or left on board the ship. Any damage occurring to these items is the responsibility of the guests. The order of sights visited may vary. Except for the gondola cruise, this excursion will operate in all weather conditions.

Tour Price: $265.00

Date: July 14, 2014 01:00 PM George Bernard Shaw once wrote, "Those who seek paradise on earth should come to Dubrovnik." Today, he may very well add that Dubrovnik is the place to come for all those who wish to renew themselves and their faith in human nature. Begin with a scenic drive to the Stradun, the famous main street that runs through the heart of the Old Town. Here, your experienced local guide will start you off with a lovely walking tour of this utterly charming city. A prominent and historic community located on the Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik was founded by joining two small settlements. One is located on a rock to the south of today's city and Dubrava, a settlement at the foot of Srd hill. At one time, a strip of wetland separated the two parts of the town, but the land was reclaimed in the 12th century, serving to unite the city around a plaza which is today known as the Placa or Stradun. Later, two harbors were built on each side of the isthmus, and the prosperity of Dubrovnik has long been based on sea trade. As you make your way through this jewel of a city, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site, you will understand why it has gained the nickname of "Pearl of the Adriatic." Following your escorted walking tour, free time will be allowed to further explore on your own before it's time to rejoin your coach and travel to the Konavle Valley. After a picturesque drive through the countryside, you'll arrive at the village of Komaji where you'll visit a local vineyard and winery owned by the Crvik Family. A unique opportunity awaits you here to taste some of the finest wines from this region and meet wine producer, Mr. Andro Crvik who will give an informative presentation about his wines and wine producing in this area of Croatia. Continuing on from here, it's a short drive past several other quaint villages to the delightful town of Cilipi where you'll stop at a typical country home. Here, you'll meet the Novakovics family, who have lived in their traditional home for many generations, producing grape brandy, olive oil and wine in the same manner that their ancestors did. Before returning to the pier in Dubrovnik, your gracious hosts will treat you to a tasty snack of local favorites that can only be experienced in the real homes of these villages while being entertained with some traditional "Dalmatian" music and songs performed by a group of local musicians and singers. Please note: This tour consists of moderate walking activities and is not considered suitable for wheelchair guests. Those guests with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of ability and stamina. Hats and comfortable walking shoes are suggested.

Tour Price: $105.00

Date: July 14, 2014 01:00 PM Silk is one of the oldest textile fibers known to mankind. During the Roman Empire, it was sold for its weight in gold. In Konavle Valley, near Dubrovnik, women keep alive the ancient craft of silk production, not for profit but for the sake of tradition and this excursion gives you the unique opportunity of not only learning about the history of silk and observe this cultural endeavor, but also produce your won silk thread. Boarding your coach at the pier, you'll make the scenic drive to the Konavle region. The silk thread produced here is mostly used for embroidering the beautiful national costume of the region. In the 1990s, during the war in Croatia, the Konavle Valley was occupied by hostile forces and many of its houses were sacked and burned down. Along with the houses, hundreds and hundreds of handmade national costumes were lost. At the conclusion of the war, the women of Konavle decided to start from scratch so that they could leave a piece of their beautiful heritage for future generations. They started making the costumes even when they were still refugees. Several volunteer groups were formed to help with this endeavor. Today, you will not only observe these women as they explain and demonstrate the whole process, from cocoon boiling, to thread reeling, dyeing, plying, reeling, weaving, and embroidering, you'll also be able to produce your own silk thread in this same age-old, traditional manner. The thread you produce will actually be used later to embroider new costumes. Afterward, enjoy the hospitality of a host family in the village and connect with some of this ancient country's profound cultural values before rejoining your coach and returning to the pier in Dubrovnik. OPTIONAL SHORE EXCURSIONS TAM-006 MT. ETNA 4X4 EXPEDITION Duration: 5.50 Hrs

Tour Price: $435.00

Date: July 16, 2014 09:15 AM Arriving ashore via tender, you'll board your motor coach and begin the first leg of this fun and exciting tour that takes you to the amazing slopes of Mt. Etna. To start, you'll first have a brief look at the picturesque small town of Naxos, founded in the 8th century BC by Greek colonizers. Today, it has gained popularity as a lovely summer resort destination and is home to numerous hotels and tourist facilities. Leaving Naxos behind, your coach travels to Mt. Etna via the autostrada and then onto a scenic road that winds around the slopes of the great mountain, passing the town of Giarre and the quaint villages of Santa Venerina and Zafferana along the way. Arriving at Mt. Etna, you'll stop at Cratere Silvestri which sits at approximately 6,397 feet above sea level. Mt. Etna is Europe's largest active volcano with commanding slopes that soar to nearly 11,000 feet and flanks that are covered with scores of cones and craters. From this amazing vantage point, you will be able to gaze out across the Catania Gulf and view the surrounding woods, orchards and vineyards. But of course, the major attraction here is the massive crater and the awe-inspiring remnants of the lava streams that once flowed down the mountainside. A brief rest stop is allowed here and you may wish to visit one of the souvenir shops before it's time to continue on. Leaving your coach behind, you'll travel via cable car, enjoying sweeping views of the majestic mountain as you ascend upward to the base of the main craters. Transferring to special 4X4 mini-buses, you'll be able to explore up-close these awesome cavities in the mountain found at a dizzying height of over 9,500 feet above sea level. A professional alpine guide accompanies you during your tour of the craters and those who wish to do so may even take a 20-minute walk to see the most recent lava flow. After an exhilarating visit at the volcano's craters, your coach will return you to the pier in Naxos where your tour concludes. Please note: This tour is not available to wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns. Your 4X4 vehicle will navigate over rocky and uneven terrain and is not recommended for pregnant women or guests with heart, back, or neck ailments. Conditions on Mt. Etna may be windy and cool and guests should bring a sweater or jacket and wear comfortable, sturdy walking shoes. TAM-008 SICILIAN WINE ROADS Duration: 4.50 Hrs

Tour Price: $175.00

Date: July 16, 2014 09:15 AM Explore Sicily's historic winemaking tradition during this picturesque half-day visit to the wine region near Mt. Etna. Sicily is Italy's third most important wine and food destination after Tuscany and Piedmont. The distinct flavor of Sicily's wine is due to the volcanic soil from Mt. Etna, the smoldering volcano that rises nearly 11,000 feet above the sea. Depart the pier with your guide for a brief drive through the small town of Naxos, founded by Greek colonizers in the 8th century BC. You will continue on to Randazzo, located between the Alcantara and Simeto Rivers, and founded in Byzantine times. The remarkably well-preserved Randazzo is the most attractive of Etna's villages, and built entirely of black volcanic stone. Upon arrival, you will visit the main square and Cathedral of Santa Maria Church, first constructed in the early-13th century, and subsequently rebuilt several times. After a stop at a famous local patisserie in the Cathedral Square for a refreshing pistachio gelato, you will continue on to the Cottanera Estate. Its lands extend from the northern foothills of Mt. Etna at about 2,300 feet above sea level. The site of ancient volcanic eruptions, these lands are now extremely fertile, and continue down as far as the alluvial beds of the Alcantara River. The vineyards of Cottanera extend for 123 acres at 1,640 feet above sea level. You will tour the vineyard and cellar, then have an opportunity to taste their wines, which will be accompanied by some local delicacies. Following your scenic vineyard tour and tasting, you will re-board the coach for the 75-minute return drive to the pier. Please note: This tour involves travel over uneven surfaces, with 15 very steep steps to climb and no wheelchair access to the wine cellar; therefore, this tour is not available to wheelchair guests and not considered suitable for those with mobility concerns. If guests would like to purchase wine, we recommend bringing euros, as there are no ATM machines. The drive between Naxos and Randazzo is approximately 75-minutes.

This tiny village affords lovely panoramic vistas that encompass the north coast, the beaches below Taormina and majestic Mt. Etna. For centuries, writers have documented the beauty of Taormina, and the town is one of the most impressive in all of Sicily. Tour Price: $175.00

Date: July 16, 2014 09:30 AM Driving along this coastal area of ancient, contorted lava streams and jagged rocks, you can almost picture the Cyclops of Homeric myth living in the peculiar landscape. So many other sights await you. The magnificent Gothic Cathdral in the hillside town of Acireale, the fishing village of Aci Trezz, and tiny Aci Castello, noted for its Norman castle built of black lava. Looking out to sea, behold the amazing Faraglioni, offshore jagged rock formations said to be broken off Mt. Etna by Cyclops and flung into the sea to stop Ulysses and his men from escaping in their ships. In ancient Catania, you will drive past several magnificent sights, such as the Piazza Verga and Piazza Stesicoro, before taking a guided walking tour of the city center. It begins in the lovely Piazza del Duomo, Catania's central square, which is renowned for its unusual, black lava Elephant Fountain, which has become the city's symbol. The impressive 18th-century Municipio and numerous university buildings surround the square. Catania was completely rebuilt after being destroyed by an earthquake in 1693, and lava stone was used in many buildings, giving architect Giovanni Vaccarini's grand Baroque architecture a strange, dusky aura.

OPTIONAL SHORE EXCURSIONS TAM-005 THE LAND OF THE GODFATHER Duration: 4.50 Hrs

Tour Price: $195.00

Date: July 16, 2014 09:30 AM Leaving the ship, you will tender across the magnificent bay of Naxos while enjoying wonderful views of Mt. Etna and Taormina in the distance. Upon reaching the pier, you'll transfer to a waiting motor coach and start your exploration of this delightful area of Sicily that was the setting for many scenes in the movie The Godfather. Your tour begins with a brief drive through the small town of Naxos. Founded in the 8th century B.C. by Greek colonizers, today it is a lovely summer resort destination with numerous hotels and tourist facilities. From here, it's a pleasant drive over the scenic coastal road which showcases beautiful villas, flowering gardens and several smaller villages along the route to Santa Teresa, the largest coastal town between Messina and Taormina. Turning inland, it's an equally picturesque journey to the village of Savoca. Nestled in a saddle between two hills, the town's lovely scenery and historical-artistic heritage make Savoca one of the most attractive, although unknown, places in the environs of Taormina. At the entrance of the village you'll find the Bar Vitelli, which has an interesting collection of local artisans' tools and photographs taken when Francis Ford Coppola filmed some scenes for The Godfather here. Your first stop will be at the Cappuccini Church to view the crypt and the mummified bodies of 37 friars and noblemen who lived there in the 18th and 19th centuries. These fully dressed bodies are found standing in the niches of the church's catacombs and are quite a remarkable site to behold. From here, it's a short stop at Bar Vitelli before embarking on a leisurely walking tour of the village's main street. As the street makes its way uphill, you'll see several churches that originate from the 15th and 16th centuries, such as Chiesa Madre, Santa Lucia and San Michele. There are also some impressive ruins of an ancient Norman castle and this vantage point above the town provides marvelous views of the Sicilian coastline, the strait of Messina, the Italian mainland and colorful villages perched on the surrounding hills. Re-joining your coach, you'll next proceed to Forza d'Agro, a charming little village that overlooks the Arab-Norman castle of Capo Sant'Alessio and the dazzling stretch of coastline that extends toward Messina. Al Pacino and Sophia Coppola paid a visit here in 1990 when they were shooting some scenes for The Godfather III. From the main square, a small lane will lead you up to another of the town's landmarks, the Church of Santa Agostino with its impressive 15th century faรงade and remarkable Gothic-Catalan portal. After what will surely be an enjoyable visit in Forza d'Agro, your coach will transfer you back to the pier in Naxos, along the way viewing another wonderful church, the Baroque Mother Church. Please note: This tour includes approximately 2 hours of walking, at times on uneven ground, as well as a moderate uphill climb. It is not available to wheelchair guests and not recommended for those guests with mobility concerns. Lightweight clothing, a hat and comfortable walking shoes are suggested. TAM-014 DISCOVER MT. Then, board a private boat and ride to the enchanting village of Amalfi, which has a Spanish flavor, compliments of its lovely white houses that face the bright blue bay. Flanked by an old Saracen tower and a 12th-century Capuchin monastery, Amalfi boasts a splendid cathedral dating from the 11th century that is covered with geometrical designs in colored stones. After admiring the cathedral, you will have free time to explore the charms of Amalfi on your own. Please note: The tour portion of Positano is non-guided. Local guides will give you a brief orientation on the way to Positiano so that you may have time on your own to tour the area. OPTIONAL SHORE EXCURSIONS AML-006 FOOD & WINE TRAILS - AMALFI'S ARTISANS & VINTNER FROM TRAMONTI Duration: 6.50 Hrs

Tour Price: $355.00

Date: July 17, 2014 09:30 AM Oceania Cruises is proud to partner with Food & Wine Trails, America’s foremost culinary travel company, in the offering of this tour. Food & Wine Trails tours are always kept intimate and visit sites not typically offered by mainstream travel suppliers. Their tours are always led by a knowledgeable, English-speaking sommelier, wine or food expert, cooking instructor or chef, who enjoys introducing visitors to some of the best and most authentic food and wine of their region. Known for having one of the world’s most spectacular coastal roads, Amalfi is a favorite with foodies, who come to taste locally grown lemons and to sample artisan-made mozzarella cheese. Today, you’ll discover how this region of Italy is a wealth of artisan farmers and budding vintners. Sit back and enjoy the views during the drive down the coast to the town of Minori, where you will visit an ancient Roman villa from the 1st century A.D. Like the neighboring town of Pompeii, the villa was damaged by Mt. Vesuvius and partially covered in ash, but it was still inhabited till the 8th century AD. Now clear of the ash, the buildings display a splendid example of ancient Roman family life. Discovered in 1932, you can still see the existence of an ancient water heating system, structure walls, and floors decorated with beautiful mosaics. After a guided tour, you’ll take a short walk to visit an artisan limoncello producer. Here you will see a demonstration of how they still make this lemon liqueur by hand, and then taste the delicious results. Then, you’ll take a short drive inland to the village of Tramonti. You’ll meet one of the region’s budding vintners and visit a small, family-run winery. Walking through his vineyards, he’ll describe how he makes his wines from grapes grown on heritage vines, some of which are more than 100 years old. After, you will be the family’s guest for lunch at their “osteria” (a traditional restaurant) located just across the road. Family members will prepare dishes from authentic Tramonti recipes made with locally grown products and served with two different varietals of wines. If at the end of the day there is enough time before last tender, you will have some free time in the town of Amalfi to stroll through the streets or shop for artisan-made items to remember the day. Please note: This tour includes approximately 2-hours of easy to moderate walking; however, there some steps and uneven surfaces to negotiate at the Villa. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and is not considered suitable for those with mobility concerns. Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing; sun cap; sunglasses and flat, comfortable walking shoes are suggested. Given it is a set meal that is served on this excursion, guests with any dietary restrictions should advise the Destination Services Desk once on board the ship.

OPTIONAL SHORE EXCURSIONS OLB-005 THE MANY FACETS OF COSTA SMERALDA Duration: 4.50 Hrs

Tour Price: $155.00

Date: July 18, 2014 09:00 AM Costa Smeralda is more than just a tourist enclave filled with shops and restaurants and this comprehensive tour does an excellent job of showing you all of the facets that make it a truly special destination. Starting off from the pier, you'll first enjoy a mostly panoramic tour of Costa Smeralda and Porto Cervo. The story of the Costa Smeralda began back in March, 1962, when headed by Prince Karim Aga Khan, a small group of venture capitalists from various parts of the world managed to acquire a large piece of land within the confines of the city of Arzachena. Thus was founded the 'Consortium of the Emerald Coast'. Everything that the most demanding form of tourism could imagine was created from scratch on what was then, an untouched area of Sardinia. The city of Porto Cervo has long been considered the gem of 'The Coast' and host to high-end international tourists. Today, it truly reigns as one of the best holiday locations in the Mediterranean. From Porto Cervo, you'll completely change focus and make your way to the fascinating Nuraghe La Prisgiona. The ancient nuraghi of Sardinia have come to be the symbol of the island and Nuraghe La Prisgiona is one the first evidences of advanced prehistoric construction techniques. It has been estimated that over 7,000 nuraghi exist in Sardinia and they are the great protagonist of the island's landscape. Their shape and strategic locations seem to support the most common belief that nuraghi were towers built for military and defensive purposes and likely date back to 1900-730 BC. Continuing on, you'll travel to the Surrau Caves and Vineyards where local wines are cultivated and produced. A visit here gives you the opportunity to tour the cellars and then enjoy a tasting of some excellent local red and white wines, accompanied by a typical Sardinian snack. Afterwards, you'll re-board your coach and travel back to the ship, en route passing through the village of San Pantaleo which is majestically framed by unique granite peaks and represents a typical Sardinian town, just a few miles away from the glamorous setting of Costa Smeralda. Please note: This tour includes approximately 2 hours of moderate walking/standing and includes natural and uneven surfaces, especially at Nuraghe La Prisgiona. There will be a significant number of steps to negotiate. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach and have an able-bodied companion to assist them; however, some areas are inaccessible by wheelchair. Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing, hats, sunglasses and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Guests must be at least 21 years of age to participate in the wine tasting. OLB-003 SARDINIAN WINES & SPIRITS Duration: 4.50 Hrs

Tour Price: $175.00

Date: July 18, 2014 09:15 AM A picturesque drive inland through the rugged Sardinian countryside takes you to the village of Berchidda at the foothills of Mount Limbara. Here, in the region of Gallura, gallurese grapes are cultivated to produce a wide variety of excellent wines. For an insider's look at the area's fascinating viticulture, you will visit the Sardinian Wine Museum and learn about the classical tradition of Gallura wine. Then, enjoy a glass of locally produced wine with cheese and carta da musica, a traditional Sardinian bread. Later, at the revered Lucrezio distillery, you will discover the process for making its best-known brand, Lucrezio R. Mirto. Please note: This tour includes approximately 1½ hours of easy walking and/or standing, plus any additional walking at the guests' discretion during free time. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

OPTIONAL SHORE EXCURSIONS LRN-011 FOOD & WINE TRAILS - WINE TRAILS OF TUSCANY Duration: 7.25 Hrs

Tour Price: $385.00

Date: July 21, 2014 08:30 AM Oceania Cruises is proud to partner with FOOD & WINE TRAILS, America’s foremost culinary travel company, in the offering of this tour. Food and Wine Trails tours are always kept intimate and visit sites not typically offered by mainstream travel suppliers. Their tours are always led by a knowledgeable, English-speaking sommelier, wine or food expert, cooking instructor or chef, who enjoys introducing visitors to some of the best and most authentic food and wine of their region. Tuscany produces some of the most important reds in the world. It is a region full of tradition, but in continuous evolution since the introduction of international grape varietals that became common in the seventies. The term “super Tuscan” was penned when a group of winemakers began producing wines not in accordance to traditional blending laws. Today, you will visit the estate of one of those winemaking rebels and taste some of their “super” wines. First, you will make a short stop in the medieval town of Suvereto. An hour from Livorno, this 10th-century village is surrounded by stone walls that were built to protect the paved streets lined with rustic houses, historical buildings, and impressive churches. Here you can grab an espresso or cappuccino before taking a stroll through the heart of the 10th Century village. Next, you arrive at the Super Tuscan estate Azienda Agricola Tua Rita. This family-run winery began as a humble family project conducted in a tiny, rustic cellar. Not seeking commercial or critical recognition, it took only a few perfect ratings to turn a wine of disarmingly simple origins into a staple of the cult genre. Their renowned merlot, Redigaffi, received a perfect 100-point score from the Wine Spectator in 1997 and then in 2000 became the first Italian wine ever to receive the same perfect rating from Robert Parker. As their guest you will experience true Tuscan hospitality during a tour of their state of the art wine cellar, followed by a delicious multi-course lunch paired with a selection of their current vintages. Afterwards, you will transfer back to the ship. Please note: There is approximately 3 hours of moderate walking and/or standing that includes steep cobblestone streets to negotiate in Suvereto and a spiral staircase to climb at Tua Rita The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and those with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of ability and stamina. Lightweight clothing and flat, comfortable walking shoes are suggested. On occasion, due to last-minute operational issues at the wine estate, an alternate winery estate of similar quality and ranking may be substituted. The Super Tuscan region is famous for it's red wine selection and white wine may not be served or available during the tastings. Given it is a set meal that is served on this excursion, guests with any dietary restrictions should advise the Destination Services Desk once on board the ship. OPTIONAL SHORE EXCURSIONS LRN-006 PISA - LUCCA - PUCCINI Duration: 10.00 Hrs Tour Price: $265.00 Date: July 21, 2014 08:40 AM Discover another dimension of Tuscany on this tour, as you visit the town of Torre del Lago Puccini on Lake Massaciuccoli, where the famous composer Giacomo Puccini resided. At the Museo Villa Puccini, where he and his wife are buried, you will see the piano room, where the esteemed Puccini composed all but the last of his operas. A scenic drive then brings you to the walled city of Lucca, beautifully situated on the banks of the River Serchio. This easy-to-walk town offers so many attractions, including the Romanesque-style Cathedral of San Martino, the remains of an ancient Roman amphitheater in Piazza Anfiteatro, and the lovely Church of San Frediano, founded in the 6th century. After lunch on your own, and free time to explore, it's off to Pisa, an architectural gem known the world over. The city was a powerful maritime center in the 12th century, and its architects and artists strongly influenced Romanesque and Gothic styles throughout Tuscany. Your first stop is the Campo, or Field of Miracles, an exquisite cathedral complex, where you will find the famous Romanesque Campanile, better known as the Leaning Tower. As fascinating as the Campo is, be sure to explore further during your free time. Pisa's finest collection of paintings is on display at the Museo Nazionale di San Matteo. Please note: Dress conservatively to enter churches and monasteries. The order of the sites viewed/visited may vary. This tour is not considered suitable for wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns. Official guide in Lucca and Pisa only. At Villa Puccini in Torre del Lago, the escort and one of the personnel of the villa will guide during the visit. LRN-013 HIGHLIGHTS OF LUCCA Duration: 4.50 Hrs

Tour Price: $125.00

Date: July 21, 2014 08:40 AM Experience Tuscan art and history without having to compete with crowds of tourists during this relaxing half-day visit to scenic Lucca. The massive red brick walls that enclose Lucca shelter this medieval city away from traffic and the modern world. Inside, the well-preserved ancient Roman street plan features fascinating streets, squares and narrow lanes. Unlike several other cities in Tuscany, Lucca is flat, and many locals use bicycles for transportation, adding to the Old World charm of this unique city. You will depart the pier for the drive to Lucca, founded by the Romans in 180 B.C. Upon arrival, you'll begin your walking tour of the city. Accompanied by your local guide, you will see the massive red brick walls built between 1504 and 1645, and among the best-preserved Renaissance-era defenses in Europe. Continue on past the Church of San Michele in Foro, which stands on the site of the ancient Roman Forum. The splendor of the church's exquisite Pisan Romanesque faรงade rivals that of St. Martin's. You will pass by the Guinigi Tower, one of many in Lucca once belonging to the Guinigi family, rulers of the city in the 15th century. Next, you will proceed to Anfiteatro Romano, once the ancient Roman Amphitheater, and today enclosed by Medieval houses built against its walls. At the Church of San Frediano, you will marvel at the striking faรงade that features a 13th-century mosaic. Inside, the splendid Romanesque font and beautiful frescoes offer wonderful photo opportunities. Visit the chapel where the revered Santa Zita is interred, then take a tour of the Church of San Martino. This extraordinary cathedral features a lovely faรงade of St. Martin, and houses the Volto Santo, a 13th-century wooden effigy, believed by Medieval pilgrims to have been carved by Christ's follower, Nicodemus, at the time of the crucifixion. At the conclusion of your tour, some free time will be made available for shopping or browsing around Via Fillungo, Lucca's principal shopping street, which winds its way through the heart of the city towards the Roman Amphitheater. Please note: Most of the shops are closed on Sundays and on Sunday morning there are services in some of the churches. This tour involves approximately 2 hours of walking mostly flat areas but some cobblestone areas and also includes approximately 10 steps to climb.

OPTIONAL SHORE EXCURSIONS LRN-005 HISTORICAL PISA Duration: 4.50 Hrs

Tour Price: $175.00

Date: July 21, 2014 09:00 AM Once a great maritime power and the rival of Venice and Genoa, Pisa is best known today for the famed Leaning Tower. This tour begins at the Piazza del Duomo, which is a revered World Heritage site containing four masterpieces of medieval architecture-a cathedral, baptistery, campanile (the Leaning Tower) and cemetery. Your first stop is the Duomo, the five-naved basilica within the Field of Miracles. Begun in 1064, the vast interior contains granite columns, mosaics, and a magnificent pulpit carved by Giovanni Pisano. The Romanesque Baptistery, the largest in Italy, has an immense interior that produces peculiar acoustics. Another highlight is the magnificent Romanesque campanile, which took nearly 200 years to construct, but began to tilt as soon as the third level was completed because the settling sub-soil was unable to withstand the tower's weight. At the northern end of the complex lies the walled cemetery, which while damaged during World War II, but has been largely restored to its original magnificence. After this portion of the tour, you will have free time to wander through the historic heart of Pisa for shopping and other diversions. Please note: Dress conservatively to enter churches and monasteries. This tour cannot be operated on Sunday mornings since the cathedral cannot be visited due to services. During Bank Holidays shops will be closed. Ascending to the Leaning Tower is not included in the tour as timing restrictions make this difficult to incorporate. This tour involves a modest amount of walking, and certain locations involve steps and a very challenging ascent at the Duomo, however, this tour is wheelchair-accessible. There is approximately 15 minutes walking involved from the parking aria to "Miracle Square" and back. LRN-005OE OCEANIA EXCLUSIVE - HISTORICAL PISA Duration: 4.50 Hrs
