My favorite time of the year! Husker football, pumpkin spice and cozy warm bonfires. The Fall Parade of Homes was a great showing from our builders. It’s fun to see everyone’s hard Kelli Fleek work pay off and come YBP President together to build a house. Well done! We had a few more items on the calendar than usual this month. It was great to see new faces and our current members at the Hard Hat Happy Hour at Zeng Granite. We will continue to have these smaller events and encourage you to attend if you are able. If you are interested in hosting, please contact me or the HBAL office. Our Midday Meetup speaker, Sarah Collins, educated us on “Selling Yourself.” What a wonderful speaker! We appreciate her spending time with us. Our next event is HBAL 101 on November 17 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the HBAL office. Join us for lunch! I’m grateful for each one of you and blessed to be in this industry with some truly amazing professionals. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as your 2020 president. I pray we continue to be healthy and are able to work through these tough times.

Hard Hat Happy Hour

The Young Building Professionals Council gathered for a Hard Hat Happy Hour on Thursday, October 1. Zeng Granite, Inc. hosted food and drinks at their office located at 3035 N. 35th Street.

This popular evening event is hosted by member organizations and is open to all HBAL members and their guests. A great opportunity to grab a drink, visit different offices, warehouses and showrooms and network with like-minded professionals in a laid back environment.

Serve as a YBP Officer

YBP is looking for individuals who would be willing to serve as vice president in 2021. This is a great opportunity to develop leadership skills, network with like-minded professionals and have a hand in the direction of the Young Professionals Council.

With the creation of two new events for 2021, we will need creative minds to join these new event committees. Since the Officers are still planning, we are unsure exactly what the committee needs are, but we do know we will be looking for fresh perspective, time and leadership.
