Ajinkya Rahane joins My11Circle as ambassador Majority wants online fantasy sports to be regulated says LocalCircles
Ahead of the Indian T20 League in April, My11Circle has appointed Indian cricketer, Ajinkya Rahane, as brand ambassador. With this appointment, Rahane joins Saurav Ganguly, Shane Watson, Rashid Khan and VVS Laxman as part of the MyCircle11 family. “I am really excited to partner with My11Circle that offers a truly personalised game experience to fantasy sports enthusiasts. Fantasy cricket has gained immense popularity amongst cricket fans, especially those who have a deep understanding of the game. The passion and love of cricket fans for the sport is the biggest strength of the game, and in that sense, I am delighted to collaborate with a brand, which is committed to making cricket fans feel special,” said Rahane. MyCircle11 is owned by Games 24x7 which also operates RummyCircle and Ultimate Games. It is considered to be one of the top gaming operators in India today. 68% respondents in a study by LocalCircles said that they would like online fantasy sports platforms (OFSPs) to be regulated by government guidelines. The survey took responses from 50,000 Indians across 309 Indian districts. More surprisingly, only 12%
respondents felt that fantasy sports was not a game of skill, while 67% felt that it was gambling. The study comes on the heels of the NITI Ayog paper which discussed the regulation of online gaming.
