The report titled ‘Guiding Principles for the Uniform National-Level Regulation of Online Fantasy Sports Platforms in India’ caused many organizations like The Online Rummy Federation (TORF) to urge Niti Aayog to include the entire online gaming industry instead of just singling out fantasy sports. India’s complex and dated laws on gambling have hampered the growth of the online gaming sector. A selfregulatory body, officially set up by the government could have tremendous benefits for the industry as a whole.
