What do they look like? Seals can be any color. It can be white or black. The newborn pups have a wooly coat of fur and large eyes that they open immediately.
Is it a fish or a mammal? Seals are mammals. Seals drink their mothers milk and their babies are born alive. Some sea mammals spend several months bringing up their young. Most true seal mothers, such as gray seals, only feed their babies for about three weeks.
What are their enemies? Their enemies are polar bears, killer whales, sharks, dolphins, and leopard seals.
What do they eat? They eat squid, fish, penguins, and some eat other seals and other sea creatures.
One very interesting thing about this animal is‌ Seal mothers, such as gray seals, only feed their babies for about three weeks. Seals use echolocation to find their way in the water. There are 33 species of seals. They have thick layers of blubber to keep them warm.
