s you consider your year-end giving, just remember, you’re in good company. Hawai‘i is among the most generous states in the country, with 93% of households donating time, goods or funds to causes they care about, according to a 2014 study conducted by the Hawai‘i Community Foundation (HCF). Among the top reasons people cite for their giving choices are: the organization was best suited to achieve their mission, to help ease others’ pain and suffering, and it “made us feel good inside.” Here are some of your friends and neighbors, and the reasons they give to benefit others in Hawai‘i.
