Professional Partners Educational Scholarship Summary: Hawai‘i Community Foundation’s (HCF) vison for CHANGE is to create a thriving Hawai‘i for all and for always. (See www.hawaiicommunityfoundation.org/change) Professional Advisors (PAs) play a significant role in partnering with us for CHANGE in Hawai‘i through the advice they give to their clients. In recognition of this role, the Center for Professional Advisors by HCF awards an annual “Professional Partners Educational Scholarship” for PAs to sharpen their charitable giving and philanthropic skills, to enhance their client relationships, and to assist their clients in partnering for CHANGE in Hawai‘i. Award Benefits & Requirements: •
An award of $3,000 to the scholarship recipient to defray the cost of attending an out-of state conference that has a charitable track as part of the overall conference. Award to be used for registration, travel, airfare, hotel costs, and other conference related expenses.

Examples of national conferences with charitable giving tracks include (but are not limited to) The Heckerling Institute of Estate Planning, National Conference on Philanthropic Planning, AdNet Conference, AICPA Advanced Estate Planning Conference, Estate Planning Council of Seattle Annual Estate Planning Conference.

The award is non-transferrable and must be used in the year following the year of the award announcement (i.e., the 2020 award will be announced in 2019 and must be used in 2020).

While the scholarship recipient may enjoy the entire conference, he or she must attend the charitable track of the conference.

Within thirty (30) days of the scholarship recipient’s return from the conference, he or she must schedule and give a one-hour presentation hosted by HCF and the Center on a charitable technique or topic that he or she learned about at the conference.
Eligibility: Attorneys, accountants, financial and/or wealth advisors, trust officers, insurance advisors, and other professional advisors. HCF Staff and Center Advisory Council Members are ineligible to apply.
