Darcie Yukimura Named Vice President of Philanthropy at Hawaiʻi Community Foundation HONOLULU, HAWAI‘I — The Hawaiʻi Community Foundation, one of the state’s leading philanthropic institutions, is pleased to announce the promotion of Darcie Yukimura to Vice President of Philanthropy. Yukimura was most recently HCF’s Sr. Director of Neighbor Island Philanthropy and Initiatives and has worked closely with families, businesses and community partners throughout the state during her 12 years at HCF. In her new role, Yukimura will oversee HCF’s development and donor relations, planned giving center and neighbor island community initiative work. Her first day in her position was July 1, 2020. “During her longstanding tenure at HCF, Darcie has cultivated a deep understanding of our mission and the needs of the communities we serve on all islands,” said Micah Kāne, CEO and President for the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation. “Her experience developing and implementing a broad range of programs will be instrumental as we work alongside our partners and donors to address the sharp rise in community need during the pandemic.” A fourth generation resident of Kauaʻi Island, Yukimura has focused much of her community involvement around youth success. She currently serves on the Corporate Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaiʻi and is a member of the Kauaʻi Resilience Project, a community collective action model to increase resilience and reduce suicide among youth on Kauaʻi. She also serves as Chair for the Commission on the Status of Women Committee for the County of Kaua‘i. She has previously served as a board member of Easter Seals Hawai‘i, Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai‘i, the Association of Fundraising Professionals Aloha Chapter and is currently in Cohort VII of the Omidyar Fellows Program. “Now more than ever, Hawaiʻi’s communities need hope and assistance to emerge from the pandemic stronger and more resilient,” said Yukimura. “I’m grateful to have the opportunity in my new role to continue serving our islands by providing resources and solutions to help Hawaiʻi strengthen our communities and people. ### About Hawai‘i Community Foundation With over 100 years of community service, the Hawai‘i Community Foundation (HCF) is the leading philanthropic institution in the state.
