“FOOD FOR HAWAI‘I’S ‘OHANA” DISTRIBUTION FOR NEWLY UNEMPLOYED SCHEDULED TO TAKE PLACE MAY 13 AND MAY 15 AT ALOHA STADIUM WHAT: “Food for Hawai‘i's ‘Ohana” Distribution for Newly Unemployed. Presented by the City & County of Honolulu, Bank of Hawaii Foundation, Hawai‘i Community Foundation and Hawaii Foodbank, this publicprivate partnership puts food into the hands of the newly unemployed and to those who need it, while supporting local farmers and ranchers. Four food partners – Sysco Hawai‘i; Hawai‘i Foodservice Alliance; Hawai‘i Ranchers Kaua‘i, Hawai‘i Island, Maui and O‘ahu; and the Hawai‘i Farm Bureau– will provide high-quality food products for an estimated 4,000 households, or while supplies last. Several community partners, including Hawai‘i Counts 2020 Census, Child & Family Service, the Domestic Violence Action Center, and the American Job Centers will also be on hand to provide valuable information to recipients. WHEN: Wednesday, May 13, 2020 Friday, May 15, 2020 10 a.m. until supplies last * The Honolulu Police Department and traffic control will not allow vehicles to line up before 7 a.m. WHERE: Aloha Stadium Entrance at Gate 3 on Kahuapa‘ani Street, across from Ice Palace INFO: Multiple family pick-ups (two to three families per vehicle) are recommended. Participants must be in a vehicle to receive assistance and are encouraged to help neighbors in need who cannot drive. Recipients should bring the following items to the food distribution site: •

Completed Household Information Form for each household represented in the vehicle, or a pen if unable to print out form in advance


Valid government-issued ID for each household (an adult from each household must be present)

In addition, before attending the distribution, individuals are asked to empty their vehicle’s back seat, trunk, hatchback, and/or tailgate to be prepared to receive food. Participants will be asked to remain in their vehicles as volunteers do their best to follow CDC guidelines regarding social distancing. Participants may need to wait three to four hours for assistance and should plan accordingly.
