The Season of Giving A Legacy of Good Works

O

n November 16, Hawai‘i’s nonprofits, fundraisers, donors, and community leaders will celebrate National Philanthropy Day, coming together to promote their shared commitment to philanthropic efforts across the state. Serving our communities has long been a Hawai‘i tradition — caring for our resources, our kupuna, our keiki, and our community. With the holiday season upon us, we hope that you’ll give thought to those needs and causes most precious to you and join our philanthropic ‘ohana. Just as paddlers work in harmony to guide the canoe to safe harbor, Hawai‘i Community Foundation’s (HCF) funds, programs, and initiatives gather the resources of many to bring support and create positive change where it’s needed. During this time of giving, make a contribution to your favorite charity or choose to support one of the following causes:

Local Culture and the Arts Establish a named fund or make a legacy commitment dedicated to those programs most dear to you, or consider giving to the Artists in the Schools program.

Education and Social Change Establish a scholarship or give to HCF’s Community Scholarship Fund to support students who are the first to attend college in their family.

HCF helps people make a difference by inspiring the spirit of giving and by investing in people and solutions to benefit every island community. – Kelvin Taketa, CEO at HCF

Fresh Water and Environmental Partnerships Create an environmental legacy, establish a fund, or support HCF’s Fresh Water Initiative.

Island by Island Support one of the many community funds on every island, focusing their work, in the community.

DID YOU KNOW: HCF is honored to receive the annual National Philanthropy Day President’s Award this year, recognizing our commitment to creating a legacy of giving across Hawai‘i for the past 100 years.

Let HCF help you make a year-end gift. Contact: Eric La‘a, elaa@hcf-hawaii.org or (808) 566-5557
