Pushing Design Boundaries
We believe in design that enhances and expresses the beauty inherent in our client’s mission. At HDR, we are deeply committed to seeking a balance between the rational and the intuitive, between function and delight. Above all, we blend our knowledge of how environments can shape behaviors, outcomes and success with our deep understanding of how design can change the world for the better. The following pages illustrate some of the project work we have completed in our West region design studio. These examples underscore our constant willingness to push boundaries and see things differently—to listen and solve real problems in a more creative way. We thoughtfully consider each project based on the client’s culture, the diversity of the people who will inhabit its spaces, the geography and context of the site, and the important relationships between the natural and manmade environment. Above all, we balance art with science and creative ideas with technical expertise in order to transform concepts into remarkable realities.
