Zoom Into Books Author -- Dr. Linda Holloway tackles the thorny issue of discrimination. In this case, it is mostly about racial discrimination, but discrimination in any form is just as evil. The author is an African-American herself and has experienced the pain of people holding her skin color against her. This book contains some excellent ideas concerning how to handle bullies and racists. Ryan Battle has drawn excellent illustrations to emphasize the point made in this book. This book is ideal for teaching young people of color how to handle discrimination. Just as significantly, this book can help all children learn why discrimination is wrong and a better way of accepting diversity. The sooner we teach our children that different is good, the sooner we can have peace.
