15 Health Benefits of RADISH The scientific name for Radish is "Raphanus sativus" means quickly appearing which is a Greek word. It is derived from the Latin word "radix," which means a root. It is thought to have been originated from China. Radish is a root vegetable that can be enjoyed either raw or cooked, as well as in juice form.
