Being in a relationship can be a great thing – but only if it’s enjoyable. Here’s our guide to identifying healthy, and happy, relationships e often talk about unhealthy relationships without identifying the hallmarks of a healthy relationship. Whilst all relationships are different, healthy relationships will make you feel good and you should enjoy the company of the person you are with. The person you are with should make you laugh, encourage and support you and should respect your boundaries and decisions. You should feel safe, comfortable and trust them. If you don’t feel these things, have a think about whether the relationship is working for you. It might be that you are

incompatible, or better off as friends. But if the other person hurts you, tries to control you or forces you to do something you don’t want to do, seek help immediately. The same goes for if you are suffering abuse from a friend, family member or stranger, or you suspect someone close to you is. HAVE THE COURAGE TO SPEAK UP Whether it’s sexual harassment, a hate crime or emotional or physical abuse happening to yourself or someone you know, you don’t have to deal with it alone. Sometimes people hold back because they feel they won’t be believed or that they don’t want to get involved. As for being believed, your school will support you without judgement.
