HealthONE is the largest healthcare system in the metro Denver area with more than 9,000 employees and 3,000 affiliated physicians. Named Colorado’s “Best Company for Working Families several years in a row, the health system was created in 1995 as a 50/50 joint venture between non-profit The Colorado Health Foundation, Colorado’s second largest charitable foundation, and various affiliates of HCA. HealthONE includes: The Medical Center of Aurora and Centennial Medical Plaza; North Suburban Medical Center; Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children; Rose Medical Center; Sky Ridge Medical Center; Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital; Swedish Medical Center and Swedish Southwest ER; 13 freestanding ambulatory surgery centers; and more than 50 occupational medicine / rehabilitation clinics,

physician specialty offices, and outpatient imaging centers. HealthONE also operates AirLife Denver, which provides critical care air and ground transportation for an eight-state region. AirLife Denver was named 2010 Air Medical Program of the Year among international programs by the Association of Air Medical Services. Additionally, all HealthONE acute care hospitals are affiliates of Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children — the HealthONE system of pediatric care. As such, each affiliate meets rigorous standards for care, quality, outcomes and staff experience. In August 2010, HealthONE opened a new pediatric patient center, Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver. Throughout 2010 — despite the ongoing sluggish economy — HealthONE remained steadfast in

its commitment to improving the health and lives of our patients, our employees, our physicians and clinicians, and our communities. Our employees and staff show their commitment day-in and day-out, not only through providing the highest quality, safe care to our patients and their families, but also beyond our campuses, helping our neighbors across our communities in so many ways. And beyond the metro area, we helped expand access to care in rural communities across our 8-state region. HealthONE Stroke Care has extended expert neurology coverage through telemedicine to more than 19 sites in urban and rural Colorado. In addition to cardiac, neurology and many other specialties, our pediatric physicians also travel to see children in rural communities so families also have high-caliber care closer home. Together our physicians, nurses and clinicians provided more than $97.8 million in free or discounted medical care to patients; we paid $71.1 million

in state and local sales and property taxes and FICA; and we donated $3.7 million to more than 150 nonprofit organizations supporting children, health programs, the arts, and other worthy causes. Additionally, HealthONE hospitals and facilities also spent or contributed more than $4 million for community health improvement services (such as in-kind donations of medicine, supplies and volunteers; free health seminars and education; nurse triage telephone service; car seat and bike helmet checks; and other free or below-cost programs). We invested more than $8.4 million in health professionals’ education and another $1.4 million toward research. Finally, we contributed $3.8 million in staff time and contributions for community building activities beyond our own walls. All told, 2010 saw the people of HealthONE contribute more than $190.4 million in community benefit, up $4 million from 2009.

Surgeons at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children Pediatric Heart Institute at P/SL perform more than 100 surgeries a year to treat our youngest patients with congenital and other heart defects.

HealthONE’s extensive network was developed to provide more convenient access to the vast range of services and experts that our communities need for screening, diagnosis, treatments, surgery, rehabilitation, and ongoing health and wellness needs.

Swedish Medical Center and The Medical Center of Aurora have advanced centers for neurosciences. Patients throughout the region seek the neurologists, neurosurgeons and neuro trauma specialists at both institutions for care ranging from Chiari malformations to critical head traumas, movement disorders, aneurysms and stroke, MS, epilepsy, head and neck tumors and spinal cord injuries. Additionally, HealthONE’s Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital – the first licensed rehab hospital in our state – offers comprehensive brain injury and stroke rehabilitation with more certified staff than any other Colorado facility.

ER/Trauma HealthONE has eight full-service Emergency Departments – 6 at our hospitals and 2 free-standing ERs. These include a Level 1 Trauma Center (adult and pediatric) at Swedish Medical Center; Level II Trauma Center at The Medical Center of Aurora; and Level III Trauma Center at Sky Ridge Medical Center. AirLife-Denver is our air medical transport serving facilities in an eight-state region. HealthONE’s The Medical Center of Aurora demonstrated leadership in cardiovascular care by developing Cardiac AlertSM with physicians and EMS partners in 2001. Local EMS now have advanced equipment and training to identify heart attack patients in the field and alert hospitals of their arrival so staff and physicians are ready to treat these patients as soon as they arrive. Quick response times and 24/7 cardiac surgery backup help us save lives. HealthONE hospitals perform 1 in 5 of all cardiovascular surgeries in the state. HealthONE Heart Care network also includes accredited Chest Pain Centers; some of the busiest catheterization laboratories in Colorado; the area’s most advanced electrophysiology programs and technologies;

Our renowned stroke network – lead by Swedish Medical Center – is the most experienced and extensive in the Rocky Mountain Region. Swedish treats nearly three times more stroke patients than any other hospital in the state. Stroke neurologists provide immediate care to patients in remote locations through a network of more than 15 telemedicine cameras across Colorado. HealthONE Stroke Care is the only network offering interventional neuroradiology with three INR physicians and comprehensive services. We also have 5 neurohospitalists, 4 neurovascular neurosurgeons, the first Stroke Certified Air Transport Teams as part of AirLife-Denver; and two JCAHO-accredited Primary Stroke Centers at Swedish (in 2011 received 4th consecutive certification) and The Medical Center of Aurora. All this adds up to faster, better care and improved patient outcomes.

HealthONE provides every female patient with individualized care to meet all her childbearing to postmenopausal needs. More expectant moms trust HealthONE for superior prenatal, labor and delivery care. Our highly experienced OB staffs, nurse midwives and Doula services set us apart – delivering more than 13,000 babies each year – accounting for 30% of all babies born in the metro area. Our hospitals were first in the metro area with OB Airstrip, allowing doctors to monitor fetal and maternal conditions on their hand-held mobile devices during the hours prior to delivery. Additionally, HealthONE offers world-renowned fertility experts on our campuses, 24/7 highrisk perinatologists, the most-experienced high-risk OB physicians and transport team in the eight-state region, and the highest level NICUs available that aim to keep new moms close to their babies. HealthONE Women’s Care also is a leader in robotic, minimally invasive gynecologic procedures and offers the full continuum of care for women of all ages. This includes advanced breast care, including all-digital breast centers for screening, diagnostic mammography and ultrasound, stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsy – as well as minimally invasive treatments and technologies. Our Breast Cancer Survival rates surpass state and national averages for all stages of cancer and years of survival. HealthONE cares for more cancer patients than any other system or hospital in Colorado. Our Cancer Care network incorporates state-of-the-art imaging and treatment technologies. Our specialists, researchers and surgeons are regional leaders in treatment of cancers of: GI/ digestive tract; respiratory system; lymphatic system; brain and nerves; blood (leukemias); male and female reproductive systems; bones; kidney and urinary tract; liver; breast; multiple myeloma; pancreas; endocrine system; and skin. We care for the most patients needing bone marrow transplants, and breast and gynecologic cancer treatments in metro Denver. Our patient-centered

approach uses teams of patient navigators, physicians, surgeons, nurses, social workers, therapists and others to work with each patient on an individualized treatment plan.

Orthopedic and Spine Care Specialists at HealthONE exceed national standards on quality and outcomes for patients who have full- or partial-joint replacements or back surgeries. Minimally invasive techniques and advanced technologies help patients recover more quickly than traditional surgeries. Our dedicated teams have years of experience in helping patients seeking bone, joint and spine care — in fact, Sky Ridge performs nearly twice the number of spine surgeries than any other hospital in the state. With four nationally designated Centers of Excellence in Weight Loss Surgery, HealthONE is a regional leader in Bariatric Care treating more than 64% of all patients seeking help reducing weight and serious life-threatening conditions caused by morbid obesity. Our regionally and nationally recognized surgeons work with patients for many months before and after surgery to ensure safety and improve patient outcomes. HealthONE established a wide network of outpatient imaging centers across the metro area to improve access and ease of scheduling for patients, and ensure quick, high-quality digital images to physicians no matter which HealthONE center the patient chooses. Most important, HealthONE board certified and fellowshiptrained radiologists with expertise in a variety of disciplines analyze the tests, offering each patient’s physician more accurate readings.

The Medical Center of Aurora & Centennial Medical Plaza The Medical Center of Aurora is an award-winning regional medical center. The first community hospital in the Denver Metro area to receive Magnet Recognition for nursing excellence, this acute care hospital specializes in cardiovascular services, neurosciences, oncology, surgery and women’s services. The Medical Center of Aurora also is certified as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. The Main Campus is the primary hospital with a Level II Trauma Center, chest pain accreditation and Center of Excellence designation.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN family of hospitals HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN

Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children (RMHC) is the name for pediatric services throughout the HealthONE system. It is the largest collaborative team of private practice pediatric specialists, neonatal and maternal-fetal specialists available in the Rocky Mountain region. With more than 300 community pediatricians, and family medicine physicians affiliated with our hospitals, we care for high-risk mothers, infants, children and teens.

In September of 2010 RMHC at P/SL opened its $150 million expansion, including the region’s most advanced operating rooms for pediatric surgery. Because the community need to care for premature or ill infants continues to increase, RMHC at P/SL has planned to expand its pediatric intensive care unit and to relocate and renovate its 84-bed Level III C NICU.

ROSE Medical center Well known as a Denver institution and a 9th Avenue landmark for more than 60 years, Rose Medical Center has become a leader in comprehensive women’s services, orthopedics and total joint replacement, and bariatric and spine surgery. 2010 Air Medical Program of the Year Association of Air Medical Services

Quick turnarounds mean an average of two hours from arrival to discharge Open since late 2005, the Swedish Southwest Emergency Room (SWER) is a 24-hour, full-service emergency department. This facility is staffed by board-certified emergency physicians who work alongside nurses and technicians specializing in emergency medical care. Additionally, patients have access to state-of-the-art tests through CT scan, X-ray, ultrasound, cardiac testing and

laboratory service, all of which are performed on site. Critically ill patients can be transported via ambulance or AirLife helicopter, both of which serve SWER. Each year, SWER provides medical care for more than 22,000 patients from southwest Jefferson County and the surrounding areas. Many patients have enjoyed the quick turnaround as the average time from arrival to discharge is approximately two hours.

The Emergency Medical and Critical Care Transport Service of the HealthONE system, AirLife Denver was recognized as the 2010 international Air Medical Program of the Year by the Association of Air Medical Services. AirLife Denver provides air and ground critical care transport for both adult and pediatric patients in an eight-state region including Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, Kansas, New Mexico and South Dakota. Established in 1983, AirLife Denver has been serving the metro Denver area and region for 28 years, completing more than 48,000 patients served. Each transport team includes two nurses who each have a minimum of five years emergency medicine and critical care experience. For our smallest patients, our Neonatal team includes a neonatal nurse practitioner. AirLife Denverâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s commitment to

HealthONE Clinic Services provides a wide spectrum of care including primary care, women’s services and 24 other medical and surgical specialties. These services are conveniently located throughout the metro Denver area. Our practices work in collaboration with the HealthONE hospitals to provide full circle care from within the practice setting to diagnostic, surgical, inpatient, outpatient, and recovery care for our patients. HealthONE Clinic Services provides a wide network of physicians, practices and staff. Many of our pediatric physicians are on staff at HealthONE’s Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children across our system of hospitals. The Occupational Medicine and Rehabilitation clinics currently serve about 6,500 employers in the Denver metropolitan area. We provided more than 74,000 occupational medicine and rehabilitation visits in 2010.
