What a great opportunity to address the needs of our workforce at this year’s Midwest Health Promotion Conference! In March of 2020, we could not have foreseen the impact a worldwide pandemic would have on our homelife, our workplace, our schools, our mobility, our ability to gather, and our overall wellbeing. 2020 was the year that we learned to pivot, or as our theme for last year’s virtual conference, we learned the wellness tango! What have we learned in that year? Is our situation improving? What is our most pressing need in the workplace at this time? As our keynote speakers and well talk speakers addressed, there have been some big changes in the workplace as we balance the hybrid of in-person and remote working. At the heart of this balance is the issue of wellbeing. Each presenter offered thoughts and numbers to reinforce the impact our current situation has on stress, burnout, and the need for solutions to mental wellbeing.
We hope that you were able to use this day to focus on your needs as a leader who supports people on their wellness journey and to recharge your own passion. This Conference wouldn’t be the productive day that it is without our Conference committee who determines the theme and selects presenters. Thank you to our 2021 Conference Committee who worked diligently to make this year’s Conference a success: Jenna Andrews, Karin Junge, Julie Broberg, Amanda Patterson, and Mary Kruse, HealthSource Solutions; Carissa Ellingson, Ginger; Courtney Patt, Marsh & McLennan; Crystal Felten, Metropolitan Council; Mary Alice Noel, Medica; Mike Bird, University of Wisconsin, Stout.
Whether you attended in person or virtually, thank you for a successful day together. We hope to see more of you next year on October 12, 2022.
