MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER AND CEO Hello Friends! Believe It! It is time to get ready for the virtual 9th Annual Healthy Churches 2030 Conference, November 14-17, 2022. Over these past conference years, together we have become stronger and bolder change agents of health. The Balm In Gilead is grateful for our partnerships with congregations, denominations, public health organizations and corporations to address the multitude of health disparities that Black people face every day. Our conference theme this year is: The Intersection of Trauma on Black Health, Religion and Life. The global pandemic of COVID-19, increase rates of mental illness, the constant assault of racism; along with the lack of resources to assess food, shelter, and medicine for so many reflect the realities of health disparities and injustice that Black people face daily in neighborhoods and villages across the world. We cannot deny and should not ignore the severe trauma we are experiencing in our own lives, congregations, and families. We must work together to stop this trauma!
