If you’re one of those people who just can’t wait to have a holly, jolly Christmas, Caseville will temporarily transform into the North Pole on Saturday, Nov. 6, for the 53rd annual Holly Berry Fair.

The fair, which allows Yuletide fans to get a head start on their holiday shopping, features more than 100 exhibitors displaying their handcrafted works for sale and for show.

The fair attracts people and vendors from across the state and provides a boost to local tourism during off-peak times. The 2019 fair featured 120 different vendors.

Admission is free, and food concessions and pictures with Santa are traditional highlights of the fair.

Among the numerous items on display will be jewelry, art, books, bath and beauty items, candles, ceramics and pottery, glass, woodwork, children’s items, clothing, crochet/embroidery/knitting/needlecraft, dolls and miniatures, furniture, holiday and wedding items, housewares, paper goods, patterns, pet items, plants and edibles, quilts, toys and vintage items.

The 2020 fair was canceled for the first time in the event’s history due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, Caseville Public School will be taking over the event.

The fair has been organized by the Caseville Library Club and held in the gymnasiums and classrooms at CPS. Organizers are now accepting vendor forms for the waiting list for booths. Vendors will be chosen on a first come, first serve basis as booth space is available.

The forms can be found on the CPS website at http:// www.cpseagles.org/holly-berry-fair.

For further questions, email hollyberryfair@cpseagles.org.

Caseville Public School is located at 6609 Vine St.

Freedom Festival returned

After being canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, Cass City’s Freedom Festival returned in a big way for 2021. People packed the street downtown for more than an hour for the annual grand parade, and then filed into the city park for a number of other activities. There were 3-on-3 basketball games, inflatables for the kids, food vendors, a craft show and more. (Eric Young/Huron

Rib lovers flock to Caseville for Ribstock

Soaking rains didn’t stop crowds of people from flocking to Caseville for the annual Ribstock event. Saturday’s cornhole tournament was canceled due to the weather, but the rib tent was swarming with people as they checked out the selection offered by the several vendors. (Scott Nunn/Huron
