Many flowers are in bloom as people visit Dahlia Hill Monday, Sept. 14, 2020. (Katy Kildee/kkildee@mdn.net) Dahlia Hill Society of Midland has 3,000 tubers with 300 unique dahlias at the corner of Main Street and Orchard Road in Midland. During the blooming months of late summer until the first frost in October, the garden provides free access to an incredible tapestry of dahlia color from dawn to dusk. The garden was started in 1992 when Charles Breed donated 1,700 to be planted on Bill Fisher’s hillside property. In 1998, the Dahlia Hill Society of Midland was established to maintain and preserve the garden. Visitors will be able to learn about growing the amazing dahlia and at the same time enjoy the benefits of nature while wandering the terraced garden of color. Dahlia Hill’s tubers multiply every growing season providing many additional tubers to be sold every May. Two buildings adjacent to Dahlia Hill’s garden house the art of Charles Breed. His art is also found amongst the dahlias and includes four large cast

aluminum sculptures representing the seasons of the year. For updated information about growing dahlias, benefits of nature,
