The Northwood Idea
Northwood has a unique philosophy
called The Northwood Idea that is integrated through all of its degree programs. The Northwood Idea recognizes business as a higher calling. It values freedom and personal responsibility; moral law; and respect for property, and it emphasizes the importance of work, thrift and business.

teach about. They work with industryspecific advisory boards to ensure that graduates are being prepared to lead businesses and institutions from the moment they are hired.
Start Your Major On Day One
Northwood University students begin studies in their majors during their first semester. By junior year, most are deep into their majors and then fulfill the requirements for a bachelor degree along with internships. The early start helps students confirm their area of interest and prepares them for internship success earlier than peers at other schools. Also, the core business curriculum makes changing majors and/or combining majors and minors a flexible option.
Competitive Edge
Northwood students compete in a wide variety of intercollegiate formats. They earn respected positions among leading universities by regularly placing in state, national and global competitions in areas such as Mock Trial, DECA (business leadership competitions) and Esports. The teams’ success includes national championship titles. Student athletes also compete in 18 NCAA Division II sports.
Degree Completion Options for Working Adults
Northwood’s Adult Degree Program provides management education to adults seeking to complete their undergraduate degrees throughout the world. Northwood provides flexibility in the online learning environment for working professionals to complete undergraduate degrees at the pace that works best for them.
DeVos Graduate School
NU’s DeVos Graduate School (devos. northwood.edu) offers a new, online Doctor of Business Administration as well as MBA programs with day, evening, online, and corporate delivery options. There are also Master of Science programs that are entirely online in specializations including Organizational Leadership, Human Resources, Finance and Business Analytics.
360-Degree World View
