A LETTER TO OUR DONORS Dear Community Members, Thank you so much for taking the time to read about our organization. Heart 2 Heart (H2H) is a passion project for all those involved and our size and influence is rapidly expanding everyday. H2H: International Healthcare Relief was created last year, after one of our founding members visited a small non-profit cardiac hospital in Nadiad, India. She recalls “In Nadiad I witnessed sides of medicine I had not seen in Canada. The life changing moment for me was when a young male was brought to the emergency room, presenting with an ischemic stroke. I watched the physicians care for him for days, and then I watched a physician inform the family that he only had a one-percent chance to live, due to lack of finances. The pain in the family’s eyes and the now non-existent life that could have been so fruitful and fulfilling has compelled me to work to prevent such cases in the future.” Unfortunately, many of the patients at this hospital cannot afford these medications. H2H is a unique philanthropic organization in that we are entirely by volunteers (including pro bono legal and accounting services) and as such we ensure that 100% of our donations go towards our causes. We also keep our administrative costs to an absolute minimum, only spending money on what is necessary to hold fundraisers, incorporate or receive donations. As our executive team at H2H is formed almost entirely of medical students, we are privileged to have the platform and network to raise awareness and money for our partner organizations. By contributing to our cause, you will be supporting undergraduate and medical students build skills in philanthropy and lead them to a lifelong path of giving back We need your help to make our vision of accessible healthcare for all a reality. ABOUT US Our Mission: Heart 2 Heart: International Healthcare Relief (H2H) strives to improve access to high quality healthcare for those in financial need. We work primarily with partner organizations in developing countries, where healthcare disparities are largest. What Makes Us Unique: Heart 2 Heart: International Healthcare Relief works with some of the most vulnerable members of the poorest, communities around the world. Small donations to these individuals can mean the difference between life and death. We also avoid unnecessary expenses and are run entirely by volunteers to ensure that all money raised goes towards our patients. Finally, the impact of H2H is ultimately twofold: we run events in our own communities to enrich these local environments, while delivering all proceeds to those in other countries who need it most. .

Global Average Life Expectancy Many healthcare systems in developing countries lack the resources required to address the needs of their populations. As a result, these countries have low life expectancy, primarily due to preventable diseases and poor sanitation.
GLOBAL HEALTH INEQUALITY
In India, many patients must make large out-of-pocket payments for their healthcare; more than 33% of patients admitted to hospitals in India have been forced below the poverty line due to medical expenses. In many parts of the world, almost no money is allocated to specialized referral centers. MAHAVIR INTERNATIONAL DELHI, INDIA
DDMM Heart Institute mainly cares for patients of low socioeconomic status. Although there is funding available for therapeutic procedures for such patients through government schemes, insurance, etc., almost all these procedures also require longterm medical treatment and regular monitoring, which are not funded. All the funds raised and sent to DDMM will be distributed by the hospital and used to support long-term treatment for their patients.
The first four weeks of any infant’s life are a very vulnerable time, and many infants die of infections. Mahavir International seeks to change this by providing clean baby kits to new mothers in government hospitals and running awareness programs to improve child and mother care. To date, Mahavir International has distributed more than 250,000 clean baby kits, each containing clothing, nappies, and a blanket.

This initiative seeks to provide medical and psychosocial support to seriously ill children whose families cannot afford to pay for treatment. Donations will support teams of trained physicians, nurses and community health workers to cover child inpatient rehabilitation programs, speech and physiotherapy, and the training of parents to care for children with complex needs.
