Nguyen Anh Linh received an AusAID scholarship to study in Australia in 2004 and graduated in 2007 with a medal from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), holding a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Food Science and Technology. Now pursuing his PhD, Linh is working in a joint research project between the CSIRO Food and Nutritional Science Division and UNSW. Known as “Hannibal among WATA members, Linh is the editor-inchief of Walkie Talkie Online Magazine where his proficiency in English is divided in both writing and editing. He has been a tutor, a translator, a volunteer; all of which have equipped him with unique experience in both academic and spoken English. We are thrilled to have Hannibal as one of the judges for Wata Voice.
A native speaker of English from Australia, Ashton is currently working for a non-government organization called Adventist Development and Relief Agency in Vietnam, carrying out programs in health, education and income generation in Hanoi, Cao Bang, and Binh Phuoc. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, Government and International Relations from the University of Sydney, and a Master of International Relations from Macquarie University. Ashton has vast experience in volunteer work, a passion for traveling, and a genuine interest in global issues such as poverty and human rights. WATA is honored to have her as a friend and a judge for this speaking contest which aims to encourage English learners in Vietnam to speak English with more confidence, especially to foreigners.
Having just returned to Vietnam after attending an English writing residency in Vermont - USA, Chau is going to join Hannibal and Ashton to judge the Wata Voice contest. A WATA member since 2008, she is a speaker at our English & Soft Skills events, an editor for our online magazine, and also a contributing writer and photographer for our and a few other publications. Working as a marketing manager in her day job, Chau is also a visiting lecturer at the Saigon Technology University, and a freelance screenplay translator. Back in school days, she was the winner of several awards for English including third prize for English in Ho Chi Minh City high school academic contest, and first prize in the corporate songwriting contest of the Management Development Institute of Singapore. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with concentration on Mass Communications from Oklahoma City University, USA.
