前言

心陶不經不覺已踏入第十一個年頭，一路走來，承蒙各客戶多年支持，不敢忘卻眾業內前輩 / 學校老師曾不吝給予機會，亦有賴業內同儕對本司各種缺失的包涵，令本小店能屹立至今，實在感恩。惟至今仍有諸多不足和改進之處，自當繼續努力。業界近年發展篷勃，陶室數量和學陶人數都迅速增長中。本司忽發其想，何不藉著新出版的目錄冊，介紹一下本地一直默默耕耘的高水準陶室？因此我們邀請多位客戶提供陶室作品照片予本司加插到這本商品目錄冊內，作品不設主題，唯一條件是作品需使用本司所售的陶土 / 色釉，令其他客戶選用本司的產品時能作參考。各參與陶室的詳細資料已列於本刊最後數頁，各位若想報名學陶可自行與陶室聯絡。最後，衷心感謝各陶室慷慨提供作品照片予本司刊載，令本司與有榮焉。 As time goes on, Hearty Ceramic has entered its eleventh year. Throughout this uneasy journey, we want to express our gratitude towards our customers for the supports in these years. We also dare not forget that the predecessors/school teachers in the industry have given us the opportunity; our clients in the industry that they have forgiven our company’s various deficiencies. We are so grateful that our shop can stand up to this day with all your supports. The industry has developed tremendously in recent years, and the number of pottery rooms and the number of pottery students are growing rapidly. We have popped up an idea - why don't we introduce the high quality pottery studio who have been contributing to the ceramic industry in Hong Kong in our new product catalog? So we have invited many of our customers to provide us photos of their pottery works to be inserted into this catalog. The works do not have a theme. The only condition is that the works need to use the clay/glaze sold by our company, so that when other customers look at our products in the catalog, their artworks can be used as a reference. The detailed information of each participating pottery studio is listed on the last pages of this catalog. If you want to register to learn pottery, you may contact the studio directly. Finally, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the pottery studios for generously providing photos of their works to our company for publication, which makes our company proud.

陶工精選系列設計的理念是將由製陶工匠精挑細選的色釉改良並量產化 , 令每位陶藝愛好者甚至初學者也可簡易地燒製專業級別。釉色系列內合共 53 款釉色 , 經 AMACO 重新調配釉方後 , 統一了建議燒製溫度是 Cone 5/6 (1186-1222°C), 然而每款色釉均可容許用家將其燒至 Cone 10 (1285°C)。隨著燒溫上升 , 色釉的燒成效果也會有別 . 除此之外 , 本系列最備受讚賞的就是將兩款色釉重疊施釉 , 即可燒製成全新的色款 , 例如將 PC45 在作品上施釉數層 , 待乾 , 再使用 PC12 施釉數層於 PC45 之上 , 經燒製後釉色與 PC45 及 PC12 完全不同 , 變化出獨一無二的新色款 , 令每件作品增加了無限的可塑性 ! It can be used on any glazed-surfaces. You can choose from full-size Chintz (50 x70 cm), colour-sheets (33 x 23 cm) to separate motives (variable sizes). All fire to 738 772°C.

You may now design your ceramic decal or print your photos directly to the decal paper. You can now use the custom print decal paper to your glazed pieces. The custom decal paper has special firing program as below: Fire 65°C per hour until it reaches 350°C, then fire 137°C until it reaches 890°C Total firing hour is 9 hours. .

Usage Instructions:

Cut the paper out, prepare a bowl of room-temperature water Clean the glazed ceramic piece which you want the paper to be Put the cut-out paper into the water, let it soak for about 5 minutes Face the paper image side upward. Slide the paper away from the back-paper under, put it onto the glazed ceramic piece, use sponge to remove any trapped air-bubbles 5. Fire the piece after air-drying

1. 從移印紙中剪出需要使用的圖案 / 範圍 , 準備常溫清水一碗 2. 任何污垢或油漬也會影響移印紙的燒成效果 , 故需將坯體清潔乾淨 3. 將整片圖案浸泡於水中 , 時間不宜太多 , 約五分鐘圖案便開始與底紙分離 4. 將圖案正面朝上脫離底紙並移到坯體 , 以海綿將圖案掃平及消除氣泡 ( 如有氣泡 , 燒製時會令圖案破損 ) 5. 待作品乾透才開始燒製

凹凸印坯模具適用於碗碟及面具製作。使用非面具模具時，將陶泥用滾泥棒製作泥板，再將泥板放至凹模具上按壓，再以凸模具加壓，然後將多餘的陶泥削走，待半乾後把作品取出。模具可重覆使用，輕易製作。 Mayco Slump And Hump Molds are great for making plates, dishes, bowls and masks. After rolling the clay slab, press the slab onto the mold, use the hump mold (for non-mask molds) to press again, cut away the excessive clay, take the piece out after it's half-dried. The same shape is easily copied by repeating the process.

Just prepare your favorite slip and pour the slip into the mold. After the slip is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick which dried, pour out the excess slip and wait a while. After the greenware is dried, the greenware can be removed from the mold and slightly touched up.

Skutt was the pioneer of sectional kiln building over 50 years ago. That means we have had 50 years to perfect sectional design. The sectional design allows the owner to quickly disassemble the kiln for moving or repair. This design brought Ceramics into the home. It's light weight coupled with the ability to break down into smaller sections made it possible to move a kiln through a narrow doorway or down a flight of stairs.

It works by using a wall mounted fan to draw a very small amount of air through holes drilled in the slab (floor). The amount of air drawn is determined by the number and size of the holes drilled. Holes are also drilled in the lid in a specific pattern designed to direct the air in a way that does not affect your ware. All in all, EnviroVent 2 is a design that greatly helps you to remove the unwanted fumes out of the room. You can feel safe when use your kiln at home, studio or school.

Controller 控制器 The Nabertherm controllers convince with their intuitive operation and a contemporary design. They are operated via a central control dial (Jog Dial). Temperatures and program information are presented in a clear, high-contrast LC display. Optimum temperature uniformity over the entire temperature range through multi-stage PID parameterization. Potter's Wheel And Throwing 拉坯機及手拉坯 A potter's wheel is for making round-shapped pottery like bowls, vases and dishes, such process is called "throwing". The oldest "potter's wheel" could probably be traced from thousands of years ago. Today, many potters use electrical potter's wheel. Hearty Ceramic is the distributer of two famous brands for potter's wheel - SHIMPO (Japan) and BRENT (USA). Shimpo's models are our best-sellers, while BRENT models are excellent for heavy duty works. Below are some basic steps for throwing: 拉坯機主要作用是幫助製陶者容易地製作縱向對稱 ( 如碗 , 碟 , 瓶 ) 等圓形器皿 , 其製作過程便是手拉坯 , 古時的拉坯機稱作陶輪 , 主軸連接木或石輪操作 , 非常笨重 , 由人力轉動甚耗體力 , 時至近代發展出電動拉坯機 , 操作簡易亦不佔地方 , 令拉坯機及其技巧更為普及本公司是日本 Shimpo 及美國 Brent 的授權代理 , 銷售及維修其品牌設備 . Shimpo 拉坯機屬熱銷產品 , 操作時安靜 , 轉盤順滑轉動 , 適合製作中小型作品 . Brent 拉坯機的驅動方式及馬達的馬力較強 , 更適合製作中至大型作品以下簡介手拉坯的一些基本步驟： 1. Press a well-wedged clay "ball" onto the dry wheel. Keep your hands wet. Press the clay into the centre. (The wheel keeps turning in all of the following steps) 1. 將陶泥搓成球狀放到乾身的轉盤上，保持雙手濕潤，將陶泥壓至中心 ( 此後的步驟拉坯機均保持轉動狀態 ) 2. Push the clay up to look like a tower by applying f o r c e t o t h e c e n t r e o f c l a y, f r o m b o t t o m t o t o p . After making it tall, press it down again back to step one's shape. After getting the desired diameter of your vessel, you can start making it taller, by pulling the clay from the bottom to top.
