At first, the exhibited artworks belonged to 5 parts. Unlike the “destruction” that comes later, this is another “destruction” trajectory that parallels with Zygmunt Bauman’s liquid modernity, the destruction of self, destruction of relationships, destruction of reality.

Ko's practice is not fixed in form or materials, preferably with heavy and melancholic topics, but in a more detached way. He is currently on liquid modernity, postmemory, and hauntology.

作品沒有特定型式與素材。

稍稍偏好沉鬱題材;沉重的題材,輕輕的做。

抽離的視角略顯淡淡的冷漠。

原爆的中心,是終點,也是起點。

Both distress and faith crawled up when he was working on his graduation project.

The center of the mass destruction.

The end of the beginning.

伴隨著以年計的寸草不生,是精神瓦解與暗影中生成的孩子。

這部分呈現著自身的渺小,與他被現實輾壓的精神面貌。

Wasteland breeds no legend and not even a stillborn child. Along with the illustration of his crushed mental outlook and melting of solidity, here sheds the light of the pale girl of redemption.

南方小島悲劇 Tragedy of the Southern Island

透過與社群對話來刻劃被遺忘的悲劇, 描繪事故之後累積的殘留思念。

願能把碎片重新拼湊,

記住那曾存在的,紓緩那沉重的,阻止那回轉的。

By having dialogues with the community, he investigates and eventually glues together the fragments of a forgotten tragedyall in hopes of relieving the depressed, retreiving the reincarnated, remembering the person he would never know.

There is no return for those who decided to leave. Yet in order to unveil hidden sentiments, he exploits himself and embarks on a search.

Zine / Bracelet 2022, Handmade recycle paper, copper, 8 x 4 x 2.5 cm 腐敗。 Rotting inside.

海邊的紅銅氧化凝為綠鏽,以自然的加持 把 Pieter Bruegel the Elder 的油畫《叛逆天使的墮落》 翻譯成裝置藝術作品。透過挪用原作的聖經和歷史脈絡, 預想那個緩慢但必然到來的終末。

The installation piece and video art together present his translation of Pieter Bruegel the Elder’s “The Fall of the Rebel Angels” (1562). Through the power of the mighty naturethe weather, sea, and tide, copper results in the formation of patina, which envisions and counts down to the slow but inevitable eschaton under the appropriated biblical and historical context.

混凝土塊和藍色水晶膠構成的脈絡;板塊正反面的黃銅和紅 銅訴說著某種對立,它們之間的辯證關係將指向真相。

The concrete bricks weave the fabric of context with the blue epoxy; with the somewhat contradictory brass pieces on the two sides, the dialectics between these elements will eventually reveal the truth.

This illustrates Chi Kee Sawmill & Timber's relationship with light. The more is taken away (emptied) from the factory, the more light gets in. It is not only a mourning for Chi Kee, but for all those who have faced, are facing or will face the same destiny.

這是光線與志記��木廠的關係:被清拆 的同時,更多的光線就能走入去。 這不僅是對志記的哀悼,而是對所有 曾經、正在或將會遇到同樣命運的個體 所表達的。

迷途於他者之間, 卻有路折返。

When psyche is nothing more than a phantasmagoria, it melts and flows. Drifting among the Others, and it is the time for recrystallization.
