CARBONKNIGHT HOODS The CarbonKnight flame retardant triblend material composition includes Kevlar ® for superior strength and durability. The thermal knit construction makes the material feel heavy but it is actually very lightweight at 6.7 oz per square yard. The thermal knit traps air in the material to keep the user cool in hot environments and warm in cold environments. Moisture wicking material with odor absorbing qualities. With a TPP rating of 37.4, this hood exceeds NFPA requirements. Notch shoulder.

Double layer knit hoods are made of 40% Polyimide and 60% Lenzing, 8.2 oz. material. The single layer, 6” bib can be tucked inside a protective coat to seal the neck area. Elastic in the full face opening allows for stretch needed for easy donning of SCBA masks. Permanently flame resistant and machine washable. Also excellent for cold weather protection. SERVICE LIFE: As long as the sheath remains intact, shielding the core from abrasion- contamination, frequent washing with mild soaps will increase service life as it rids rope of abrasive particles. However, heavy loading which overworks strength can affect the service life. QUALITY CONTROL: Each rope is hand inspected for quality. Continuous tensile and abrasion testing is carried out according to federal test standard 191A, method 6061. Finally, each rope is marked internally for quality control reference.
