SCHOOL
EDUCATION CENTER 2nd year of Masters - Design Build studio Scarcity and Creativity Exchange in AHO Norway and Kenya - Autumn 2017 - 3 months The Scarcity and Creativity Studio (SCS) is a design build studio whose focus is on the translation from drawings to building. The studio’s main aim is to expose students to the full architectural process, from interacting with clients to building their designs. The program for this building was for a classroom and a small library/study area, in a rural part of Kilifi, Kenya. These requirements plus the study of comfort in an equatorial climates, the vernacular architecture of the area, and the available local materials have been the factors that have shaped this project. The site was located in a natural clearing amongst vegetation. The climate required a shaded but very open space through which the breezes could flow freely. The classroom is separated from the library by a shaded courtyard, open, on one side, towards the school’s common outdoor area, and to the other side a natural outdoor teaching area under an enormous tree. The 10% slope of the site is used to create a stepped classroom to facilitate student contact with the teacher, and to drain the roof into two 5000 litres water tanks. The two main contributions that this project makes are social and typological. The classroom and library built by SCS are a significant contribution to free education in a country in which even state education costs cannot be afforded by a significant portion of the population. The costs of the building materials were funded through donations from architectural firms in Oslo. Tutor: Christian Hermansen - christian.Hermansen@aho.no

URBAN INTEGR ATION Diploma project - Spring 2018 - 4 months
The origin of this diploma project’s problematic is the current migratory crisis in Europe. In this context, the welcome of the refugees is a political and urban challenge for Europe. In France, there is an insufficiency in term of refugee policies, which leads to the proliferation of a precarious urban planning. There is an interference from the government regarding the importance of the migratory flow. Today it is the rejection, the negation and not the hospitality that prevails in the urban space. The few efforts injected in hosting refugees are concentrated in the phase of emergency. But nothing is really thought for the long-term integration of the refugees. Most of the time, they are left to their own ressources, to find accommodation, to work. However it is during this post-emegency period that takes place the real stake for integration, to not reproduce processes of segregation, and manage to get positive effects from this migration. This project is the scenario of a social and urban experiment, in the context of the Paris region. It is not a model, but an example of a possible sustainable solution, to show the migration as an asset. The site is located close to an emergency center, in a city politically favourable to the project, seeking for new housing solutions and economic re-energization. The project is a mixed program of housing, urban farming, economic activities, services and community spaces. It is intended for a population of refugees, mixed to the local population, to encourage integration. The program, evolutionary, host with dignity the refugees, brings a new economic dynamism and encourages the personal and professional initiatives. It is an asset for all his inhabitants, as well as for the city. The program of the interethnical housing is made of coliving, private appartment, private houses, common spaces ‌ The aim of the project is to bring back its hospitable potential to the city and to include and use the migration in the process of urban re-energization. MISE EN ABYME GEOMETRIE 1st year of Masters - Architectural studio -STRUCTURE Group of three students, with Pauline Gueydon and Louise De Beauvais - Autumn 2016 - 3 months The theme of this studio was “the pattern”. The site of the project is located on the crossroads Pleyel in Saint-Denis. Its irregularity questions the geometry of the shape. The trapeze contains five identical triangles, the duplication of those allowed us to work on the assets and constraints of triangular architecture. The structure is hybrid and made of five structural cores and of “hat rack” poles in the continuity of the drawing. A structural grid of fifteen meters reveals a “mise en abyme” of the plot of land. An inhabited, continuous staircase, winds the building, creating open spaces with different points of view. We chose to design offices and coworking spaces, as well as a parking lot on the ground floor and in the basement. This mixed program is connected by the concept of the continuous inhabited stair,

INHABITED BRIDGE 1st year of Masters - Architectural studio - Group of two students, with Pauline Gueydon - Spring 2017 - 3 months Located on the Parisian ring road, Porte de Vincennes. The position of the site, the lacks of an airport and the crossing between Paris and its suburb, all the symbols of global nature, diversity and speed we questionned us on the current societal transfers. Our society becomes more individual, uberized. The borders between professional and personal life is abolished, the workers take their independence. The work is not sedentary anymore and the hotel is not anymore a place to sleep but it is a place that we use culturally and professionally. The building is an inhabited bridge mixing coworking, hotel and cultural events. Two “blade of building are linked by multiple bridges, opened on a central patio, All the technical areas are located in the structure, and a double skin facade allows intermediate outdoor spaces, The structure is designed with 4 wooden gantry combined with steel cables. The ground floor, semi public, is designed as a landscape, extension of the street, Tutor: Thibaud Babled - thibaud.babled@babled.fr

VAL-DE-REUIL 3rd year of Bachelor - Urban studio - Group of two students, with Agathe PÊrès - Spring 2014 - 3 months Analysis and implementation of an urban renewal program in the city of Val de Reuil. Val de Reuil is a new city built on a principle of pedestrian slab, with parking on the lower level. But this slab does not work in an urban perspective and divides the city into two parts. The project proposal is to extend this principle of slab and try to solve this problematic. The solutions are in the redevelopment of this slab, strengthening its visibility and its reconnection with the rest of the lower town. A reflection is made on the way to inhabit this slab, thanks to a principle of social diversity, evidenced by an assembly of collective and intermediate housing.

L ANDSCAPE 3rd year of Bachelor - Architectural studio - Group of two students, with Valentin François - Autumn 2013 - 3 months Project to establish an exhibition pavillon, in a natural site along the river and between two norman villages influenced by vernacular architecture. The spirit of the project is based on the use and the misuse of thatch, the local material, as well as its lightweight and reversible structure. It is a work focused on the thickness of material, light, visual escapement and internal-external relations, all of this thanks to the assembly of a steel structure with thatched panels, taking the shape of the roof of the traditional tchatched houses. PARIS SACL AY (FUJIMOTO) Competition First Prize - Paris - Winter 2015 The future shared teaching building is, by essence, a place of gathering and sharing. Our reflection is expressed through two major ideas: Build on the strategic position of BEM on the Saclay campus, and propose a building with generous ambitions, a strong carrier symbol values. The dynamics of the BEM is around these intermingling: the sharing and meeting. We want to install this place for sharing, this mixed use project in the heart of the service of teaching, research and student life. In coherence with the natural and urban landscape in which it is integrated, TRANSITION DU BEM AU GREEN it is a frank and assumed entity that articulates urbanism and porosity: an AFFRANCHISSEMENT DES LIMITES DEDANS DEHORS open building in its context, that brings the landscape within it. The BEM is also the place of rapprochement for several schools in a spirit of sharing: the Ecole Polytechnique, the Mines-Telecom Institute AgroParisTech, ENSTA ParisTech, ParisTech and ENAE IOGS LOGO here are united under one roof in a building with a strong identity.the Ecole Polytechnique, the Mines-Telecom Institute AgroParisTech, ENSTA ParisTech, ParisTech and ENAE IOGS here are united under one roof in a building with a strong identity. five schools on a tree - five schools under the same roof

HANGAR 0 (ARCHIPEL) Competition First Prize - Le Havre - Spring 2017 The association LH-Ø wishes to invest the Hangar 0, to make a laboratory of the transition, a place of experiment, production, exchange and training. The project of LH-Ø is to gather in this symbolic place, the local actors of the ecological transition within a Co-operative of Collective Interest ( SCIC). Several initiatives were identified by the association: PERMAC, platform of reuse of building materials is one of the most symbolic. This platform arouses the interest of numerous local partners. The site will also welcome a restaurant associative, spaces of kitchen gardens, workshops and participative construction sites. This project is designed on the concept of the permaculture, which is based on the sobriety of the ways and the resources as well as the circularity of flows and the exchanges. LH-Ø base its conviction on the idea which these solutions are to be found among those carried by the local inhabitants, by giving them back the power to improve their living conditions.

Rather than a singular, representational icon, we see the future Art Mill as an urban ensemble to accommodate a multiplicity of conditions, a clear framework that offers cohesion and order. We chose to not use collage or rendering to represent the project. The images are made from photography of models. Art, people, vegetation, canopy and background are physical models and objects, Photoshop was only use to adapt the temperature of the pictures, an to clean a little bit the model.
MODELS Models made during my masters and my internships. 1, Model of “la Halle”, a frame canvas with poles and steel cables. I used an elastane fabrics, sewing threads and wood for the pools. 2. With SO-IL. Fabrication of a presentation model of “Amant”,a private arts complex in Brooklyn, New York–for display in the “Cooper Hewitt Triennial: Beauty.” For the exhibition, we wanted to show a concept model consisting of a wood frame and casted plaster shells. Finding these materials too fragile for display in a busy public museum and international freight, I worked closely with a project manager to explore design options that were less precarious while still conveying the ideas of ambiguity and fragility. Intense design research including a visit to television production studios at CBS and many design studies led to a brushed bronze frame and a matte white Polyethylene terephthalate shells. 3, With SO-IL, Model of the Chaoyang project, a 5 floor gallery including a library and a VIP room. 4. Masters project, mise en abyme.
