FRESCO LIME-PAINT COLOR SAMPLE Follow all steps before judging the color of Fresco. Due to the lime, the color will appear lighter (in general) than the color on the general color chart. Quality of the substrate, dilution and the application technique will influence the color as well. Tools: Fresco block brush, piece of drywall or MDF If the sample is created and used for the long term, we recommend applying one layer of our Wallprim first. Only P&O Wallprim can assure proper adhesion. 1 Dilute the Fresco with water until as thick as latex or buttermilk, and stir well. The required dilution may vary per color and base. (Please read importand notes if you ordered an XD color) 2 Use our Fresco brush to apply loose, playful vertical strikes or cross-hatching strikes. Don’t cut edges in advance, keep a wet edge, and blend well. Always work wet on wet. Note: Do NOT apply Fresco with a roller! Wait until the paint is completely dry before applying the second coat in the same way as the first coat. You may want to add a little bit more water to the paint to prevent it from dragging. 3 Clean your brush with water. After a few hours you’re ready for the second layer, dilute a little bit more than the first layer (about 10% more) because the first layer absorbs water. Use the same technique as with the first layer. Don’t worry if it doesn’t cover 100%; that’s part of the effect. It’s also possible to work “Fresco” (wet) by wetting your brush slightly with some water now and then, wipe off extensive water and then dip in the paint. Note: this method activates lime and will cause lighter shades within dark colors and therefore more movement in color. Important Note! NEW XD; If you have chosen a dark color (recognizable by XD on the label), then please do NOT dilute the paint.
