Appendix III – Faculty Dr. Christopher Nordstrom, BSc (Hons) MBBS MRCP • • • •

Obtained his prize winning degree in Medicine and first class honours degree in Neuroscience from University College London. Dr. Nordstrom went on to carry out his foundation doctor programme at the prestigious Imperial College Deanery, after which he undertook specialist training in Anaesthetics and Critical Care. He has been involved in medical education for over five years and has received written praise for his teaching from hospitals and universities, including Imperial and University College London. Dr. Nordstrom teaches on a high fidelity simulation course on the management of medical emergencies and has presented at several national and international conferences, including publications in world renowned journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine. He has presented at numerous leading schools across the UK providing excellent guidance on medical school applications, as well as desig i g a d deli eri g o e of the ou try s pre ier BMAT courses, hosted at Eton College in 2012. Dr. Nordstrom has led an international medical training program for prospective medics in India at a Red Cross Hospital outside of Mumbai and is a medical tutor for the University of Buckingham MD programme


Appendix III – Faculty Dr. Ricardo Tavares, MA (Oxon) (Hons) MBBS • •

• • •

Obtained his prize winning undergraduate medical degree from Oxford University publishing research in an international medical journal. Completed his medical training at University College London and went on to carry out his foundation doctor programme at the prestigious Imperial College Deanery, before commencing specialist training in Radiology. Dr. Tavares has excellent medical teaching experience - both as part of a select group that helped re-design and deliver a formal teaching programme at Imperial College, and as a clinical methods teaching tutor for Imperial College Medical Students. Dr. Tavares has spoken at numerous high profile national events, such as the annual Royal Society of Medicine "Medical Careers Day" hosted at Eton College, and at the Inspiring Futures Medical Careers Day, as well as numerous leading schools across the UK providing guidance on how to get into medical school. He has led an international medical training program for prospective medics in India at a Red Cross Hospital outside of Mumbai. In addition to his teaching, Ricardo has published in several international peer reviewed journals. He is currently a medical tutor for the University of Buckingham MD programme
