The aircraft is equipped with an AN/AAR45 FLIR-pod on station no. 6 and a single 300gal auxiliary tank attached to station no. 3. All eight wing and fuselage stations were numbered in sequence from left to right (in flight direction). Eine sehr schöne Frontal-Aufnahme einer griechischen A-7E, aufgenommen vor ihrem Shelter in Araxos im Jahr 2010. Die Maschine ist mit einem AN/ AAR-45 FLIR-Behälter an der Station #6 und einem einzelnen 1.130 l Tank an der Station #3 versehen. Alle acht Flügel- und Rumpfstationen wurden in Reihenfolge von #1 bis #8 (in Flugrichtung) durchnummeriert.

Another QRA-aircraft seen at Araxos in 2009. Note the worn-out appearance of the camouflage. Due to the age of the aircraft it leaked quite a lot of hydraulic and other fluids. Ein weiters Foto einer QRA-Maschine aufgenommen in Araxos im Frühjahr 2009. Man beachte die abgenützte Erscheinung des Tarnanstriches. Auf Grund des hohen Alters der Maschinen, waren Ölund Hydrauliklecks an der Tagesordnung.

QRA (Quick Reaction Alert) aircraft of 336 Mira A-7E 160862, seen at Araxos in 2010, loaded with five SUU-30 (BLU-52/58) Cluster Bomb Units. For self-defence the aircraft carries two AIM-9P4 infrared homing missiles. Diese QRA (Quick Reaction Alert) Maschine der 336 Mira, A-7E BuNo. 160862, wurde im Sommer 2010 beladen mit fünf scharfen SUU-30 (BLU52/58) Cluster Bomben aufgenommen. Zur Selbstverteidigung ist sie mit zwei AIM-9P4 Infrarot-Raketen bestückt.

This A-7E with the 159645 of 335 Mira ‘Tigris’ is seen in 2009, only moments after having touched down at Araxos air base. This is one of three known A-7s with tiger markings on the tail. Diese A-7E der 335 Mira ‚Tigris‘, mit der BuNo. 159645, wurde nur ein paar Sekunden nach ihrem Aufsetzen in Araxos im 2009 aufgenommen. Die Maschine gehört zu drei bekannten A-7, die mit Tiger-Markierungen versehen waren.

A-7E BuNo. 158825 of 335 Mira ‘Tigris’

In 2005, the Hellenic Air Force decided to have an A-7 representative participate in domestic and international air shows. A-7E 158825 of 335 Mira ‘Tigris’ was chosen for this task and received this splendid special Tiger livery. The aircraft continued to fly missions until October 2014, and logged over 7,300 flight hours in USN and HAF services. Im Jahr 2005 entschied sich die griechische Luftwaffe, eine A-7 als Repräsentant auf nationalen wie internationalen Luftfahrtveranstaltungen bereit zu stellen. Die hierfür vorgesehene A-7E mit der BuNo. 158825, erhielt diese gelungene Tiger-Bemalung. Bis in den Oktober 2014 nahm die Maschine an Einsätzen und Übungen teil und konnte über 7.300 Flugstunden in der US Navy als auch in der HAF verbuchen.

The A-7 Cosair II farewell took plat at Araxos air base on October 17, 2014. To celebrate this occasion A-7E 159648 was adorned with this special livery and received unit patches of all five Hellenic Corsair operators on both sides of the fin. Die Außerdienststellung der A-7 Corsair II bei der Elliniki Aeroporia fand am 17. Oktober 2014 in Araxos statt. Hierfür erhielt die A-7E BuNo. 159648 diesen Sonderanstrich, mit Wappen von allen griechischen A-7 Nutzern auf beiden Seiten des Leitwerks.

A-7E Front Fuselage and Windshield 26
The nose section of the A-7E with in-flight refuelling boom on the right below the cockpit and two Pitotprobes located on either side of the nose just below front portion of the Windshield. Around the intake three antennas for the ECM-systems are located: on the right side 3 o’clock position the one for the AN/ ALQ-126, below that and on the left side 10 o’clock position those for the AN/ALR-45(V). Die vordere Rumpfsektion der A-7E mit einem rechts unterhalb des Cockpit angebrachten Betankungsausleger und zwei Staurohren, angebracht auf beiden Seiten der Nase, unterhalb des vorderen Bereiches der Windschutzscheibe. Um den Lufteinlauf verteilt befinden sich drei Antennen für die ECM-Anlagen: Die des AN/ALQ-126 rechts auf 3 Uhr, darunter und links auf 10 Uhr die beiden Antennen des AN/ALR-45(V).

The cockpit of the single-seat A-7E/H was 100 % identical to the front cockpit of the dual-seat TA7C/H. The only difference was the installation of the ejection seat. While the A-7H/TA-7H featured the Douglas ESCAPAC system the A-7E/TA-7C had the Stencel SJU-8 and the respectively the SJU-11/12 system fitted. Das Cockpit der A-7E/H war 100 % identisch mit dem vorderen Cockpit der TA-7C/H. Der einzige Unterschied bestand darin, dass die A-7H/TA-7H mit Douglas ESCAPAC Schleudersitzen ausgestattet war, während im Gegensatz dazu die A-7E/TA-7C über die Stencel SJU-8 bzw. SJU-11/12 Sitze verfügte.

A-7E/H and TA-7C/TA-7H Left Hand Avionic Bay and LOX Compartment
The left hand avionic bay of the A-7 houses one circuit breaker/fuse panel, the tactical computer including the AN/AVQ-7(V) HUD symbology generator, the Armament Station Control and Programming Unit, the CP-953A/AJO air data computer and the AN/ASN-91(V) navigation and weapon delivery computer. In front of the avionics the LOX-bay is located, which houses a 10l bottle of liquid oxygen. Note the fairing running on top of the avionic and landing gear bays. It houses a wave guide for the on board AN/ALQ-126(V) ECM system. This fairing is typical for the A-7E/H and was exclusively found on these aircraft as they feature a common airframe. In der linken Avionik-Bucht der A-7 befinden sich das Feld für die Sicherungen, der AN/ASN-91(V) Waffenund Navigationsrechner, die Programmier- und Kontrolleinheit für die Flügelstationen, der CP-953A/AJO Luftdatenrechner und der Symbolgeber für das AN/ AVQ-7(V) HUD. Vor der Avionik-Bucht befindet sich der Zugang für die Sauerstoffversorgung mit einer 10 Liter Sauerstoffflasche. Über der Avionik-Bucht und entlang des Fahrwerkschachtes verläuft die Verkleidung für den Wellenleiter der AN/ANQ-126(V) ECMAnlage. Diese Verkleidung war typisch für alle A-7E/H, da diese Maschinen über die gleiche Zelle verfügten.

Autonomous Flight Dispenser System (AFDS) and GBU-10 Paveway II

Since 2001, the Hellenic Air Forces has operating the GPS/INS guided AFDS – Autonomous Free Flight Dispenser System produced by LFK-Lenkflugkörpersysteme GmbH from Germany. Its specifications are: length 3.5m, width 90cm, overall weight 1,500lb. The 750lb warhead consists of either 24 CRBs (Runway Crater Bomblets) or 16 BLU-108 B/B SFM (Sensor Fuzed Weapon) anti-tank warheads. Seit 2001 setzt die griechische Luftwaffe den von LFK-Lenkflugkörpersysteme GmbH hergestellten AFDS-Abstandswaffe (Autonomous Freeflight Dispenser System) ein. Das GPS/INS gesteuerte System hat eine Länge von 3,5 m, eine Breite von 90 cm und ein Gesamtgewicht von 750 kg. Der 340 kg schwere Gefechtskopf kann entweder mit 24 CRBs (Runway Crater Bomblets) im Einsatz gegen Startbahnen oder mit 16 BLU-108 B/B SMF (Sensor Fuzed Weapon) für den Einsatz gegen Panzer bestückt werden.
