FOREWORD FOREWORD KTM STAYS IN THE FAST LANE AND KEEPS THE THROTTLE OPEN! Yes, we could hardly wait to get to the INTERMOT trade fair in Cologne to give the media, the expert public and motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the world a powerful impression of the new KTM range. Literally! Although we always keep developing our models and technologies, some things never change here in Mattighofen. That goes especially for our enthusiasm for motorcycle sports. It is, and remains, the driving force behind the development of each and every KTM model. As the market leader in motocross and enduro motorcycles, as well as a successful and ambitious challenger on the tarmac, the company will once again expand its commitment in 2013 – in every respect. KTM wouldn't be KTM if racing was not the key for this expansion. Like no other brand, we use the challenges in motor sports as a learning experience on a daily basis. To us, “Ready to Race” is not a hollow marketing claim but the life we at KTM live every day. Be it in the forests of the Enduro WC or in American Supercross arenas, in the Dakar Rallye or in Moto3 and Superbike racing, on the MX tracks all over the world and the boulder-strewn ascents of the Erzberg on our doorstep – we keep learning, everywhere, every day. And again and again, we weave the experience of triumphant success and bitter defeat into the practical reality of our motorcycle developments. KTM places a special focus on its customer sports programme, undeniably the most comprehensive in the motorcycle industry. Always closely monitoring our customers' hard-beating hearts, we live the product from behind the handlebars because – and all KTM riders should be able to experience that in their own bikes – we love our job!

MODEL YEAR 2013
NEW ADVENTURES IN SIGHT When KTM decided to ride into the desert ten yeas ago to win the world's toughest race with a completely new two-cylinder called “LC8 Adventure”, and put that plan into action in a convincing manner, nobody had any inkling that they had just seen the birth of a completely new category of motorbikes “Made in Austria”. With the launch of the first-generation Adventure, KTM managed to bridge the gap between tarmac and off-road. More than 40,000 units sold prove: it was the right way to go. Now, here in Cologne, we are about to show you the next milestone, heralding where that way leads us next. The result of our developers' work is logical and uncompromising: As of 2013, we offer a choice of two Adventure models, both with the typical KTM DNA, but taking on two very different forms.
1190 ADVENTURE Aggressively, the brand-new bike storms into the large segment of tarmac-oriented travel enduros. In the best KTM tradition, the latest Adventure's beating heart is a powerful LC8 two-cylinder. The extremely light four-valve engine delivers a potent 150 hp (110 KW) and 125 Nm of torque from 1.195 cc of displacement. The focus of engine development was not so much brutal power but maximum rideability at every pace. This means the latest, at a weight of only 230 kg fueled, LC8's scope spans the complete range from a tourist's unhurried roaming to powering headlong through the twisties. Such a wide range became possible not the least thanks to a ground-breaking electronics package employed for the very first time. At the heart of that package, there is a rideby-wire engine management system which is not just state-of-the-art but also manages several riding modes that match just the desired pace. In addition, the package comprises completely new Combined ABS antilock brakes, a traction control with an off-road function – a true global first – as well as an electronically supported suspension. This result of an extreme development effort is rounded off with the best components by top quality suppliers, combining KTM-typical riding enjoyment with the best possible feedback and maximum safety. As befit such a bike, the 1190 Adventure rolls on sticky sport touring tires in the dimensions 120/70-18 and 170/6017. In the field of accessories, KTM also enters an upmarket level. All specially developed accessory parts blend in perfectly with the complete vehicle concept.
EVEN MORE ADVENTURE… 1190 ADVENTURE R Based on the original idea behind the Adventure, the 1190 Adventure has been escalated even further in Mattighofen. The “R” denotes the true soul of the original KTM adventure – raw, spartan, a fantastic bike for riders as skilful as they are demanding. With a suspension tailored to these requirements in every aspect and with bespoke, fine-tuned rider assistance systems, the Adventure R is the bike for those who take the notion of “adventure” literally. The 21 (front) and 18 inch (rear) wheels can be fitted with knobby tires if so desired, dramatically expanding this bike’s range of use. DEVELOPMENTS ACROSS ALL SEGMENTS In the off-road world, KTM has been covering the full range of products for years. Offering anything that could be asked for depending on the customers’ age, experience level, requirements and preferences, model year 2013 is no exception – from the 50 cc minicycle to the Supercross proven 450. Year after year, the KTM development section utilizes the brand’s unique market presence to improve the bikes, open up new niches and set new trends. Highly innovative and highly successful, the Freeride models are prime examples for this invaluable potential. You could go on forever. But why don’t you discover the power products of KTM’s development section for yourself, along with the relentless energy of this whole company that drives it. And look forward to more exciting news!

1190 ADVENTURE KTM 1190 ADVENTURE Pure passion drives everyone at KTM each and every day. Pure bikes are the result. We have been working and developing non-stop, prototypes have circled the Earth thirty times – and now the time has come: With the new Adventure generation, KTM sets new standards in the travel segment! More than a decade ago, the first Adventure from Mattighofen was launched – with DNA from the same KTM that won the Rallye Dakar eleven times in a row. The uncompromising transfer of knowledge from racing to mass production ensured that the KTM Adventures have always stayed ahead of the rest of the world. With plenty of new highlights, the latest KTM 1190 Adventure generation now defines new benchmarks to leave the competition behind on the asphalt.

MODEL YEAR 2013
An impartial comparison proves that the two new KTM Adventure models are the lightest and most powerful bikes in their class. The foundations are their ultralight, extremely strong chrome molybdenum steel trellis frame and their 1195 cc, 150 hp V2 engine. High-end suspension components by WP Suspension, peerless brakes by global market leader Brembo and assistance systems developed in close co-operation with Bosch round of the package, giving the new KTM 1190 Adventure a clear lead in dynamics and safety from the start. Its weight of only 230 kilograms – ready to race with fuel, that goes without saying – will help it maintain that lead. The 1190 Adventure need not fear any competition on the road. And were it not for the 1190 Adventure R, it would also be the most off-road capable of all travel enduros!

1190 ADVENTURE POWERTRAIN – SUPERIOR THROUGH HIGH TECH The potent V2 engine with 1195 cc of displacement stems from the KTM Superbike 1190 RC8 R, delivering everything a top-class travel enduro needs: lots of low-end torque for off-road riding, lots of punch for touring at full payload, and 150 hp power for crunch time. Sophisticated technology helps adapt the Superbike twin to its new mission in the Adventure: the dual ignition lowers fuel consumption and emissions while ensuring refinement at low engine speeds, the drive-by-wire ensures a perfect delivery of the ample torque, and the Motorcycle Traction Control MTC provides dynamic, yet fully controlled traction on every surface and in every situation.
MTC can be switched off and has four different riding modes, allowing different degrees of slippage at the flick of a switch on the left handlebar: absolute control through minimal slippage in “rain” mode, smooth slippage in “street” mode, controlled rear wheel spin in “sport” mode and 100% slippage for committed off-road riding, as soon as the switch is set to “off-road”. A yellow LED on the brand new VDO multifunctional display starts flashing whenever the traction control engages. In addition, a new anti-hopping clutch eliminates annoying rear-wheel chatter under heavy braking while at the same time lowering manual clutch force. This makes the 1190 Adventure
not just lighter, more powerful and more predictable than ever: thanks to an increased mileage, a 23 litre tank and longer service intervals up to 15,000 km, it also needs to stop less often.
CHASSIS – KEEPING AHEAD THROUGH PERFECTION It goes without saying that the latest Adventure generation leaves nothing to be desired in stability and predictability, thanks to its ultra-light but extremely strong trellis frame, the high-strength die-cast swing arm and the top quality suspension components by WP Suspension. Smaller wheels – 19 inch front, 17 inch rear – wider tires and a slightly shorter travel suspension optimize the talents of the latest 1190 Adventure on asphalt. And the fully adjustable suspension ensures that you neither have to forego top comfort when calmly touring nor accept a bouncing rear end when scorching down the twisties. Fine tuning at its most comfortable
71698_KTM_Presskit_INTERMOT.indd 8
is provided by the optional Electronic Damping System EDS: a switch on the handlebar, depending on the bike load lets the rider choose between four levels of spring preload as well as three corresponding damper settings (Comfort, Street, Sport). In addition, the standard combined antilock braking system C-ABS means that on the new Adventure models, you are prepared for any eventuality. On one hand, it automatically deploys the rear brake whenever the front brake is used, optimizing braking stability. On the other, C-ABS can not just be switched off but also has an off-road
mode that allows to lock up the rear wheel – a decisive advantage in cross-country riding. Finally, the optional tire pressure measurement system TPMS warns the rider in case of pressure loss, while class-leading ergonomics mean riders of every size are comfortable on the new 1190 Adventure: seat height, handlebars, foot pegs and windshield are all adjustable.

1190 ADVENTURE R 1190 ADVENTURE R The new 1190 Adventure R is the one and only choice for everybody unwilling to compromise off-road on their travel enduro. Larger wheels – 21 inches front, 18 inch rear – a full 220 millimetres of suspension travel front and rear as well as rougher tire treads distinguish the R from the 1190 Adventure, optimizing cross country mobility. To compensate for slightly higher steering forces, it has wider handlebars; because of the longer suspension travel, seat height is higher; and there is a sturdy crash bar for increased protection. In addition, a lower windshield and different graphics help distinguish the R from its sister model. Of course, forks and shock of the 1190 Adventure R are fully adjustable. Of course, it also has the revolutionary combined C-ABS antilock brakes and the fourstage traction control MTC, which can both be disengaged all – or riding can be enjoyed in the worlds first ever offroad mode. Without a doubt, the 1190 Adventure R is the most off-road capable two-cylinder enduro. And were it not for the 1190 Adventure, it would also be the fastest travel enduro on asphalt!

MOTOCROSS 250 SX THE FINEST TWO-STROKE REFERENCE Underscoring KTM’s commitment to powerful twostroke contenders in the top category of motocross, the 250 SX features thoroughly considered innovations year after year. For 2013, among other things, a new DDS clutch (Damped Diaphragm Steel) with a wear-free steel cage is fitted to the 250 SX engine, allowing use of thin steel discs for minimum overall width. The new clutch’s diaphragm spring not only reduces the operating force but also provides space for integrated hub damping. The result: more traction and protection for the transmission. As every single 2013 motocross model, the 250 SX is benefitting from the significantly revamped suspension with new triple clamp, reworked swingarms, stronger rear wheel axle, and modified settings. The new suspension scores with even higher reserves against bottoming out, improved responsiveness, and even better tracking stability. Not only visually does the completely revamped bodywork indicate that the 2013 model year represents a new SX generation. Thanks to the optimised ergonomics rider and machine form a perfect harmony. Furthermore the 250 SX still has to offer an unrivalled power-to-weight ratio and many pros and hobby riders love its hands-on, straightforward technology. - Ultra-light chrome-molybdenum steel frame - Reinforced ultra-light aluminium swingarm, single-piece cast, with larger rear axle - Optimised linkage-type rear suspension with fully adjustable WP monoshock and new set-up - Optimised, fully adjustable WP 48mm USD front forks with CNC machined triple clamps, closed cartridge technology and new set-up - Light-weight wheels with CNC machined hubs and black coated spokes - New bodywork with enhanced ergonomics - New Renthal Fatbar handlebars - New airbox with optimised flow rate - New DDS clutch with wear-free steel cage - New reed valve for smoother power delivery

MOTOCROSS 250 SX-F THE NEW BENCHMARK As demonstrated by five consecutive world championship titles between 2008 an 2012, the 250 cc fourstroke offers KTM riders the best balance of performance and handling in the MX2. For 2013, a completely new and significantly stronger engine with a shorter stroke and a larger bore will lift the 250 SX-F to an even higher level. The design of the new DOHC cylinder head has larger ports, an optimised combustion chamber, larger intake valves and new camshafts. The newly designed cylinder houses an extremely lightweight piston. The new crankshaft carries less inertia and has a connecting rod with plain bearings. The engine cases are produced in high pressure die cast instead of sand cast. The engine is now fitted with a counter balancer shaft for reduced vibrations and with a new clutch. As all MY 2013 fourstroke engines the 250 SX-F is equipped with a new Keihin engine management system and fuel injection which allows for higher gas flow and improved spray. MOTOCROSS 350 SX-F A CLASS OF ITS OWN Nearly the power of a 450, combined with the agility of a 250 – by winning the MX1 World Championship 2012, Antonio “Tony” Cairoli has now proven the potential of the 350 SX-F for the third year running. In order to keep the advantage over 450 cc MX1 contenders, KTM improved the performance of the 350 SX-F once again. For 2013 new ports in the DOHC cylinder head provide better gas flow, stronger intake valve springs and a lighter piston allow higher rpm. The crank shaft is stiffer and lighter than before and wears a pressure lubricated plain bearing for the connecting rod. The engine cases are produced in high pressure die cast instead of sand cast which allows a massive weight reduction by thinner walls. As all MY 2013 four-stroke engines the 350 SX-F is equipped with a new Keihin engine management system and fuel injection which allows for higher gas flow and improved spray. Moreover the 350 SX-F is benefitting from a significantly revamped chassis with new triple clamp, reworked frame and swingarms, stronger rear wheel axle, and modified settings. The new suspension scores with even higher reserves against bottoming out, improved responsiveness, and even better tracking stability. - Reworked cylinder head, cylinder, crankshaft and piston for even better performance - New high pressure die cast engine cases for reduced weight - New state-of-the-art Keihin engine management with optimised fuel injection - Ultra-light chrome-molybdenum steel frame with reinforcement in the steering head area, newly designed head stays and with cradle tubes made of thinner profiles - Reinforced ultra-light aluminium swingarm, single-piece cast, with larger rear axle - Optimised linkage-type rear suspension with fully adjustable WP monoshock, harder spring and new set-up - Optimised, fully adjustable WP 48mm USD front forks with CNC machined triple clamps, closed cartridge technology and new set-up - New airbox with optimised flow rate - New bodywork with enhanced ergonomics MEDIA INFORMATION

MOTOCROSS 450 SX-F SHEER POWER UNDER FULL CONTROL If raw power is called for, nothing can replace displacement, as amply demonstrated by Ryan Dungey winning the AMA Motocross Championship 2012. The newly developed OHC four valve engine for 2013 has a major advantage in terms of weight and power. The design of its new cylinder head is based on the 450 EXC engine but features newly developed ports, combustion chamber and valve train. The piston is lighter now and the connecting rod features a pressure lubricated plain bearing. The engine cases are produced in high pressure die cast instead of sand cast which allows a massive weight reduction and a more compact engine. As all MY 2013 four-stroke engines the 450 SX-F is equipped with a new Keihin engine management system and fuel injection. Moreover the 450 SX-F is benefitting from a significantly revamped chassis with new triple clamp, reworked frame and swingarms, stronger rear wheel axle, and modified settings. The new suspension scores with even higher reserves against bottoming out, improved responsiveness, and even better tracking stability. It never was easier to master the sheer power of the 450SX-F. - Reworked cylinder head, crankshaft and piston for even better performance - Longer stroke for even more power at low rpm - New high pressure die cast engine cases for reduced weight - New state-of-the-art Keihin engine management with optimised fuel injection - Ultra-light chrome-molybdenum steel frame with reinforcement in the steering head area, newly designed head stays and with cradle tubes made of thinner profiles - Reinforced ultra-light aluminium swingarm, single-piece cast, with larger rear axle - Optimised linkage-type rear suspension with fully adjustable WP monoshock and new set-up - Optimised, fully adjustable WP 48mm USD front forks with CNC machined triple clamps, closed cartridge technology, harder springs and new set-up - New airbox with optimised flow rate - New bodywork with enhanced ergonomics MEDIA INFORMATION

ENDURO COMPETITION 125 EXC LIGHT AND STRONG Hobby riders, upgrading juniors, consummate E1 pros – the ultra-light 125 EXC has been a regular on the enduro circuit for years. Hardly surprising, as even the smallest of the EXC models is a superior off-roader with robust 2-stroke power, a responsive engine and an unbeatably agile, rugged chassis. High quality, CNC-machined hubs are standard on all KTM wheels. The now black coated spokes of the 125 EXC increase corrosion resistance and centre new, extremely stable aluminium rims from Excel. New Maxxis tyres – especially developed for KTM – provide excellent traction, very precise directional control and a long service life. The proven high engine performance of the 125 EXC which sets the benchmark in its class could be increased again for 2013. The 125 EXC still is the ideal bike for youngsters in the E1 class and for those who search for ultra light handling, minimum weight and reasonable cost to purchase and maintain. - Ultra-light chrome-molybdenum steel frame with bolt-on aluminium sub-frame now with even greater lateral stiffness - Fully adjustable WP Suspension 48 mm USD front forks with CNC machined triple clamps and open cartridge technology - Ultra-light single-piece cast aluminium swingarm with PDS rear suspension and fully adjustable WP monoshock now with more progression - New light-weight wheels with CNC machined hubs, Excel aluminium rims, black coated spokes and new Maxxis tyres - Brembo brakes with new rear master cylinder - Tapered Neken aluminium handlebars with new two-compound grips with integrated KTM logo - New graphic design

ENDURO COMPETITION 200 EXC LESS MEANS MORE The 200 EXC proves that less capacity and less weight means in many cases more fun. It is the ideal combination of the playful handling of a 125 cc bike and of the engine power close to a 250 – now with a further improved engine and fitted with an electric starter in addition to the kickstarter. The optimised combustion chamber of the new cylinder head and the new carburettor setting achieve a smoother power delivery of the two-stroke engine which makes life easier for beginners. New Maxxis tyres – especially developed for KTM – provide excellent traction, very precise directional control and a long service life. The EXC 200 is the perfect choice for everyone who is searching for the best handling and sufficient performance outside the standardised classes to have the most fun in offroad riding at reasonable costs. - Now with electric starter in addition to the kickstarter - New cylinder head with optimised combustion chamber - Ultra-light chrome-molybdenum steel frame with bolt-on aluminium sub-frame now with even greater lateral stiffness - Fully adjustable WP Suspension 48 mm USD front forks with CNC machined triple clamps and open cartridge technology - Ultra-light single-piece cast aluminium swingarm with PDS rear suspension and fully adjustable WP monoshock now with more progression - New light-weight wheels with CNC machined hubs, Excel aluminium rims, black coated spokes and new Maxxis tyres - Brembo brakes with new rear master cylinder - Tapered Neken aluminium handlebars with new two-compound grips with integrated KTM logo - New graphic design

ENDURO COMPETITION 250 EXC AT THE TOP OF ITS CLASS Whether in the Extreme Enduro or the E2 World Championship, the 250 EXC is the ultimate victory machine. Built with the ideal combination of performance and weight, this is the enduro to beat when the going gets really tough. Even better rideability thanks to the new DDS clutch enhances the lightest enduro in the E2 class even further. The DDS clutch (Damped Diaphragm Steel) has a wear-free steel cage and allows the use of thin steel discs for minimum overall width. The new clutch’s diaphragm spring not only reduces the operating force but also provides space for integrated hub damping. The result: less weight and size, more traction and protection for the transmission. New Maxxis tyres – especially developed for KTM – provide excellent traction, very precise directional control and a long service life. So in 2013, the best of its class is better equipped than ever for the most demanding enduro tracks of this world. - Ultra-light chrome-molybdenum steel frame with bolt-on aluminium sub-frame now with even greater lateral stiffness - Fully adjustable WP Suspension 48 mm USD front forks with CNC machined triple clamps and open cartridge technology - Ultra-light single-piece cast aluminium swingarm with PDS rear suspension and fully adjustable WP monoshock now with more progression - New light-weight wheels with CNC machined hubs, Excel aluminium rims, black coated spokes and new Maxxis tyres - Brembo brakes with new rear master cylinder - Tapered Neken aluminium handlebars with new two-compound grips with integrated KTM logo - New DDS clutch with wear-free steel cage - New reed valve for smoother power delivery - New graphic design

ENDURO COMPETITION 300 EXC MAXIMUM TWO-STROKE POWER The 300 EXC is renowned for its massive two-stroke performance and its unbelievable torque. Its tried and tested chassis is tailor-made for extremely tough tracks – the 300 EXC carries on where others give up. Could there be a better proof than the 2012 E3 World Championship title of Christophe Nambotin and his 300 EXC? For 2013 the new DDS clutch (Damped Diaphragm Steel) has a wear-free steel cage and allows the use of thin steel discs for minimum overall width. The new clutch’s diaphragm spring not only reduces the operating force but also provides space for integrated hub damping. The result: less weight and size, more traction and protection for the transmission. The now black coated spokes of the 300 EXC increase corrosion resistance, its new Maxxis tyres – especially developed for KTM – provide excellent traction, very precise directional control and a long service life. Last but not least a new in-tank fuel filter ensures safer filtering of micro particles in the fuel. The 300 EXC proves that twostroke engines have indisputable advantages, including a high power/displacement ratio and low weight. In terms of power-to-weight ratio, the new 300 EXC is practically unbeatable thanks to its latest facelift. - Ultra-light chrome-molybdenum steel frame with bolt-on aluminium sub-frame now with even greater lateral stiffness - Fully adjustable WP Suspension 48 mm USD front forks with CNC machined triple clamps and open cartridge technology - Ultra-light single-piece cast aluminium swingarm with PDS rear suspension and fully adjustable WP monoshock now with more progression - New light-weight wheels with CNC machined hubs, Excel aluminium rims, black coated spokes and new Maxxis tyres - Brembo brakes with new rear master cylinder - Tapered Neken aluminium handlebars with new two-compound grips with integrated KTM logo - New DDS clutch with wear-free steel cage - New graphic design

ENDURO COMPETITION 250 EXC-F KEY TO SUCCESS KTM’s 250 cc four-stroke enduro has been ensuring success in the enduro E1 category at competitions all over the world for years. Just recently Antoine Meo conquered the E1 World Championship title 2012 on a 250 EXC-F. This makes the lively 250 a cornerstone of KTM’s consistent sales success in the Enduro market. For 2013 the 250 EXC-F excels with its super-agile chassis thanks to state-of-the-art WP suspension components and its powerful DOHC engine featuring electronic fuel injection. The latest version comes with new wheels manufactured in Mattighofen. The now black coated spokes increase corrosion resistance and centre new, extremely stable aluminium rims from Excel. New Maxxis tyres – especially developed for KTM – provide excellent traction, very precise directional control and a long service life. Last but not least a new in-tank fuel filter ensures safer filtering of micro particles in the fuel. The highly rugged, stable and ultra-light chassis will take everything you can throw at it. ENDURO COMPETITION 350 EXC-F THE HIGH-FLYER KTM has transferred the successful MX WC recipe to the Enduro WC. The 350 EXC-F combines the ultraresponsive agility of a 250 with the perfect performance of a 450. The result is truly inspiring – Christobal “Chris” Guerrero finished the 2011 season as E2 vice champion and 2012 as E2 world champion! For 2013 the engine cases are produced in high pressure die cast instead of sand cast which allows a massive weight reduction by thinner walls. The DDS clutch (Damped Diaphragm Steel) reduces weight, too, and is smaller than a conventional clutch. The reworked 2013 chassis of the 350 EXC-F comes with new wheels manufactured in Mattighofen. New Maxxis tyres – especially developed for KTM – provide excellent traction, very precise directional control and a long service life. All this makes the 350 EXC-F a profoundly superior enduro. ENDURO COMPETITION EXC SIX DAYS GERMANY FOR THE TOUGHEST ASSIGNMENTS The legendary Six Days. Once a reliability trial, first held in 1913 on the Scottish border, over the decades they developed into one of the largest, most demanding off-road motorcycle events. And for decades, KTM has proven that its products are among the best in the world at this most prestigious event of the international enduro scene. The 87th International Six Days was held in Saxony late in September. Results only came in after the this press kit went to press, so we are unable to announce if Finnish KTM pilot Eero Remes managed to repeat his overall victory of last year and whether KTM once again managed to win the manufacturer's trophy. In any event, once again more than half of the competitors put their trust in the bikes from Mattighofen. At crunch time, nobody wants to skimp on the material. FREERIDE FREERIDE 350 THE SHOOTING STAR Right from the beginning, the Freeride 350 has been a tremendous bestseller – no wonder, since it unites extremely easy handling with a low seat height and outstanding ergonomics. Thanks to a minimal weight of under 100 kg, the rider is always completely in control even on the roughest terrain. The state-of-theart 350 cc DOHC four-stroke engine, laid out especially for the Freeride 350 has proven to be the ideal drive unit for this vehicle concept and scores highly in every situation with controllable, torque-oriented performance characteristics. The backbone of the Freeride 350 is an innovative composite frame made of top quality chrome-molybdenum steel and forged aluminium components. The high-tensile polymer rear subframe is connected to the main frame by a secure triple link. 43 mm WP USD front forks ensure excellent response and damping, while their top-drawer, CNC-machined triple clamps guarantee outstanding stability. On the rear, a PDS monoshock is directly linked to a swing-arm that has especially been developed for the Freeride 350, making for supreme ride comfort and optimum ground contact. The Freeride 350 delivers pure riding fun not only off-road but also on short trips to the city centre and it makes a great holiday companion that you can strap to the rear of a camper van. - State-of-the-art DOHC four valve engine with Keihin engine management and fuel injection and with torque-oriented performance characteristics - Innovative composite frame made from chromemolybdenum steel and forged aluminium with bolted-on polymer rear subframe - Adjustable WP Suspensions 43 mm USD front forks with CNC machined triple clamps - PDS rear suspension with fully adjustable WP monoshock - Light-weight wheels with CNC machined hubs and Giant aluminium rims - Extremely low weight of only 99.5 kg - Low seat height of 895 mm only - Variably mounted foot pegs - Comfortable hydraulic clutch actuation MEDIA INFORMATION

FREERIDE FREERIDE E GETTING HIGH ON VOLTAGE As the world’s first motorcycle manufacturer, KTM offers a racing off-road bike with electric drive. Globally unique in its radicalness, the Freeride E is extremely light, highly dynamic and powerful while delivering locally emission free and virtually noiseless propulsion with its electric powertrain. A 300 V battery, power electronics developed by KTM and a brushless synchronous motor “Made in Mattighofen” which delivers a peak power of up to 22 kW make for a highperformance powertrain and extreme riding fun that is not limited to tight and twisty tracks. With its 42 Nm of torque, which – typical of electric motors – is available right off the start, it needs not to fear combustion-driven competitors. Thanks to its water-cooling, the Freeride E’s performance will not reach its limits, no matter how difficult the terrain may be. Making for up to an hour of maximum electric power, 2.1kWh of energy storage mean unstoppable riding enjoyment. After that, riders who still have not enough can simply swap the battery thanks to a special quick change system, and are ready to go again in no time – and fully recharge the empty battery within 90 minutes. Thanks to its high-torque electric motor, the Freeride E is very easy to ride as it has neither a gearbox nor a clutch. With the first zero emission motorbike, the global leader in off-road sports motorcycles has gone on the offensive and proves that riding fun and environmental sustainability can be perfectly compatible. - State-of-the-art permanent-magnet synchronous motor in a disc armature design as direct drive - Water-cooling for ECU and motor - Innovative lithium-ion battery - Composite frame made from chromemolybdenum steel and forged aluminium with bolted-on polymer rear subframe - Adjustable WP Suspensions 43 mm USD front forks with CNC machined triple clamps - PDS rear suspension with fully adjustable WP monoshock - Light-weight wheels with CNC machined hubs and Giant aluminium rims - Extremely low weight of only 97 kg - Low seat height of 910 mm only - Variably mounted foot pegs MEDIA INFORMATION

HARD ENDURO 690 ENDURO R POWERFUL ALL-ROUNDER Can you say “Hard Enduro”? What you mean is “LC4”. The KTM LC4 models have always made their mark in this category. Low weight, great performance, rugged off-road technology and the utmost reliability have always been their core values, and that is just what makes the current 690 R the great bike that it is. The bike features a low centre of gravity and a very well balanced ride – very dynamic but also comfortable. Functional, high quality components with plenty of well thought-out details easily withstand occasional ground contacts. The power plant, borrowed from the Duke 690 R, demonstrates a perfect throttle response and lots of power at any time, thanks to its sophisticated injection and “Electronic Power Throttle” EPT. The 690 Enduro R combines outstanding off-road qualities with unbeatable all-round ability. It feels just as home in the city and on rural roads as it does on gravel and tough terrain. The high-torque single-cylinder combines the classic enduro concept with stateof-the-art technology and sporty all-round ability with suitability for everyday use.Simply a true hard enduro that goes along. TRAVEL 1190 ADVENTURE THE WORLD’S MOST VERSATILE TRAVEL ENDURO The KTM engineers made no compromise when it came to giving the MY 2013 Adventure even more performance, versatility, on-road agility and comfort. They adapted the KTM RC8 R's 1190 cc superbike V2, which generates 150 hp in the 1190 Adventure. They optimized on-road handling also by smaller wheels and wider tires. They reduced the seat height by using just a little less suspension travel. They enhanced comfort by making the foot pegs, seat height, handle bars and wind shield adjustable. They increased the 1190 Adventure’s range by enlarging the tank to 23 litres. And they added some sophisticated riding assistance systems: an ABS you can switch off and that also has an off-road mode which allows lock up of the rear wheel; a traction control you can also switch off and that gives you the choice of four different settings for rain, street, sport and off-road; and an electronic suspension offering four different spring pre-loads and three matching damper settings at the push of a button. The strong KTM trellis frame, the top quality suspension components and the powerful brakes round off a comprehensive package. Alpine pass or coastal road, German autobahn or Belgian parvay, rural twisties or urban jungle – the new 1190 Adventure is the ultimate travel enduro for the adventures on the roads all over the world. - Highly developed LC8 V-Twin with dual-plug ignition, innovative Keihin engine management, electronic fuel injection and slipper clutch - Max. output: 110 kW/150 hp, max. torque 125 Nm, emissions: Euro 3 - Multi-mode Combined ABS, multi-mode traction control (MTC), optional multi-mode electronic damping system (EDS) - Optional Tire Pressure Measurement System (TPMS) - Strong trellis frame made from chrome-molybdenum steel - High end WP Suspension components - Tubeless street tires on laced wheels with airtight beds – 120/70-19 front, 170/60-17 rear - Adjustable foot pegs, seat height, handle bars, and wind shield - Sophisticated VDO instruments MEDIA INFORMATION

TRAVEL 1190 ADVENTURE R THE WORLD’S MOST TALENTED ADVENTURE BIKE For all who love adventures in off-road terrain, who dream of travelling to every hidden corner of the world and who love the gritty character of the original Adventure, in 2013, there is the hardcore version of the 1190 Adventure – recognize it by the extra “R” in its name. It also has the 1190 cc V2 of the KTM superbike RC8 R, which delivers 150 hp in the 1190 Adventure R. It has sufficiently large wheels for maximum off-road capabilities (21 inch front, 18 inch rear) in a suspension with a full 220 mm of travel front and rear. And like the 1190 Adventure, the R also has the disengageable anti-lock brakes with an off-road mode that allows lock up of the rear wheel. And it also offers the rider a traction control with four different settings for rain, street, sport and off-road. And you can also switch that off. The strong KTM trellis frame, the top quality, fully adjustable suspension components and the powerful brakes round off a comprehensive package. From gravel roads to smuggler's paths, from desert sand to washboard roads, from water ditches to mud holes – the new 1190 Adventure R is the ultimate adventure bike for the mountains, jungles and deserts of this world. There is nothing that can stop it – there's no such thing as impossible! - Highly developed LC8 V-Twin with dual-plug ignition, innovative Keihin engine management, electronic fuel injection and slipper clutch - Max. output: 110 kW/150 hp, max. torque 125 Nm, emissions: Euro 3 - Multi-mode Combined ABS, multi-mode traction control (MTC) - Optional Tire Pressure Measurement System (TPMS) - Strong trellis frame made from chrome-molybdenum steel - Fully adjustable WP USD front forks with separate compression and rebound system - Fully adjustable WP monoshock in the rear - Road-going tubeless enduro tires on laced wheels with air-tight beds – 90/90-21 front, 150/60-18 rear - Adjustable foot pegs, handle bars, and wind shield - Sophisticated VDO instruments 71698_KTM_Presskit_INTERMOT.indd 55

TRAVEL 990 SM T (ABS) THE LONG DISTANCE SUPERMOTO Why should you have less fun flicking through the turns in of the Black Forrest, the Ardennes or the Pyrenees than you have on your home track? The world is full of twisties. The problem is mainly in getting there. The solution is clear: take a light 2-cylinder Supermoto with power to spare and have some smart people integrate all those items that make long journeys easier. Like a frame mounted fairing with smart aerodynamics. Like a stepped seat for your pillion or luggage bag. Like a larger tank. Also a standard luggage carrying system that will help you stow your kit close to the centre of gravity. The 990 SM T unites a sporty, highprecision chassis with a state-of-the-art V2 engine, great comfort and a sensitively regulating ABS system. SUPERMOTO 450 SMR RACING THOROUGHBRED "Ready to race" in its purest form, the 450 SMR provides perfect technology for the supermoto racetrack. It is equipped with the very finest components that money can buy. The 450 SMR’s barking OHC single cylinder engine has been taken fairly straight from the powerful new 450 SX-F motocross. The compact single’s core is a high tech, OHC cylinder head with titanium valves and DLC coated rockerarms. That means an ultra-wide power band, a high redline and plenty of power from low engine speeds all the way to the maximum. Also derived from the 450 SX-F, the chrome-molybdenum frame with bolt-on aluminium subframe ensures maximum stability and the agility of a house fly. The 48 mm WP USD front forks and the fully adjustable linkage rear suspension guarantee full control in every track section. Sticky Dunlop slicks make for maximum traction, even when the radial, four-pot Magura front calliper chomps down mercilessly on the 310mm wave disc. In a word – out of the box and onto the grid. The 450 SMR is the invincible weapon for every supermoto race. - OHC 4V engine with APTC anti-hopping clutch, electric starter, and specially geared 5-speed gearbox - Ultra-light chrome-molybdenum steel frame with bolt-on aluminium subframe - Extremely light cast aluminium swingarm with linkage system and fully adjustable WPmonoshock - Fully adjustable 48 mm WP Suspension USD front forks with CNC machined triple clamps, closed cartridge technology, and special racing set-up - State-of-the-Art racing laced wheels - Ultra sticky Dunlop slicks - Radial Magura four-pot racing calliper and 310 mm Braking disc in the front

SUPERMOTO 690 SMC R NO FAT, ONLY MUSCLES What isn’t there won’t weigh you down – that is the philosophy of the 690 SMC R. A brawny single, a rugged frame, draped with only the most essential components – that is all it takes for great fun on road and track. And it is the way to achieve a sensational weight of only little less than 140 kilos. Even the tubes in the tires are discarded thanks to specially developed laced wheels with airtight beds. The weight reduction thusly achieved lets the fully adjustable WP Suspension components do their job even more diligently. No wonder the LC4 power plant from the 690 Duke reserves an easy time propelling this hard core supermoto. Carried over from the enduro, the perfectly balanced layout with a self-supporting polymer tail tank ensures that skilled riders can sling the 690 SMC R effortlessly into any corner. An adult toy for experts! - Powerful LC4 1-cylinder, 4-stroke engine with electronic fuel injection, balancer shaft, APTC anti-hopping clutch and 6-speed gearbox - Max. output: 49 kW/67 hp, emissions: Euro 3 - Light steel trellis frame with innovative cast aluminium swingarm and self-supporting polymer tail tank - Fully adjustable 48 mm WP Suspension USD front forks with CNC machined triple clamps - Radial Brembo four-pot front brake system - New Continental Attack SM tubeless tires with outstanding grip - Laced wheels with airtight beds developed by KTM

SUPERMOTO 990 SM R ACTION, ACTION, ACTION “R” means racing – and the 990 SM R is the super sport bike among the supermotos. The 999 cc LC8 V2 with 116 hp serves some extra thrust while delivering a remarkably smooth partial load response thanks to its sophisticated electronic fuel injection. Only the finest components make it to the periphery of the 990 SM R – components like radial Brembo monoblock four-pot callipers on great 305 mm discs, controlled by the state-of-the-art Bosch 9M+ ABS. And the super sticky OEM Continental Sport Attack tires. Also, 48mm USD forks by WP and a rear shock from the same maker thrill with a razor sharp racing set-up as well as a highly sensitive response. Ingredients that just could not be better matched. Or simply the recipe for one of the most dynamic rides, not just in the Supermoto segment. The 990 SM R is just as much fun in the urban jungle as it is ticking off passes and out on the racetrack. - Powerful LC8 4-stroke V-Twin, electronic Keihin fuel injection with two throttle valves, balancer shaft, hydraulic multi-disc wet clutch, 6-speed gearbox - Max. output: 85 kW/116 hp, emissions: Euro 3 - State-of-the-art Bosch 9M+ ABS - Rigid, powder coated, chrome-molybdenum steel trellis frame with black aluminium swingarm - Fully adjustable 48 mm WP upside-down front forks - Fully adjustable WP monoshock - Aluminium wheels with Continental hypersport tires - Radial Brembo monoblock four-pot front callipers on floating brake discs - Complex KTM R graphics

NAKED BIKE 125 DUKE A GREAT PERFORMANCE A fantastic start for the 125 Duke. In model year 2011, it is the newcomer in the 125 segment and storms up the sales charts in no time. Not surprising, looking at the endless amounts of riding fun the new street legal bike from Austria offers to motorcycle freaks from age 16 – and heaps of fully-fledged motorbike technology at a reasonable price to boot. The driving force is a specially developed, state-of-the-art 4-stroke single with a sophisticated DOHC 4-valve cylinder head and liquid cooling. It delivers 15 hp – the legal limit of many markets – without breaking a sweat. A great fuel mileage, smooth power delivery and great refinement thanks to an integrated balancer shaft are its core values. An advanced electronic fuel injection and 3-way catalytic converter ensure clean emissions. A very light steel trellis frame, equipped with high quality WP suspension components, is the basis for dynamic fun in the twisties. Masses grouped tightly around the centre of gravity contribute further, they include the main silencer right behind the engine. Even the smallest Duke has first-rate components wherever you look, like the powerful braking system developed in co-operation with Brembo. It just is a real KTM. - 1-cylinder, 4-stroke DOHC engine, electronic fuel injection, 3-way catalytic converter, balancer shaft, max. output: 11 kW/15 PS - Ultra-light die-cast aluminium swingarm - Powerful braking system developed in co-operation with Brembo - Comprehensive multi-functional cockpit - Available in two colours

NAKED BIKE 200 DUKE THE RE-DISCOVERY OF LIGHTNESS The 200 Duke builds on the successful recipe of the 125 Duke from model year 2011. It simply reads: a fully-fledged, great-looking motorbike at an extremely competitive price. The main difference of the 200 Duke is a larger displacement, expanded to 199.5 cc by a cylinder with a 72 mm bore and 49 mm stroke. Complementing these are a newly developed cylinder head and valves, as well as new intake and exhaust systems specially designed by KTM for the 200. Compared to the 125cc lump, the beautifully rounded power curve peaks at 26 hp, a a full 11 hp more – this is a state-of-the-art single cylinder design with a generous helping of sporting DNA. Thanks to the extra power over the 125 Duke, as well as a very low weight of only 126kg, in the seat of the 200, you get the punch of a real motorbike. The powerful new engine is backed by the wellknown trellis frame, as well as outstanding suspension and braking components. This makes the 200 Duke essentially KTM – simply one of the best small sport bikes for any day of the week. - 1-cylinder, 4-stroke DOHC engine, electronic fuel injection, 3-way catalytic converter, balancer shaft, 6-speed gearbox, max. output: 19 kW/26 PS, emissions: Euro 3 - Light steel trellis frame - Ultra-light cast aluminium swingarm - Upside-down front forks by WP Suspension - Ultra-light WP rear suspension - Powerful braking system developed in co-operation with Brembo - Comprehensive multi-functional cockpit

NAKED BIKE 690 DUKE THE NEW ESSENCE OF MOTORCYCLING Back then, KTM revived the pure, unadulterated single-cylinder motorcycle in the form of the "original" Duke. Judging by the latest 690 Duke that stands before us today, much has been gained: smoothness, room for a pillion passenger, long-distance ability. But what it has never lost is its intensive and elemental ride dynamics. The secret: a cylinder head with dual ignition and individual, selective mappings for each plug and a full Drive-by-wireSystem make the popular LC4 engine the best Duke powertrain ever. The result: a whopping 68 hp, a mountain of torque, as well as a throttle response and NVH on the level of multi-cylinder engines. An extremely rigid and super-light trellis frame made from chrome-molybdenum steel sections, a new, state-of-the-art Bosch 9M+ ABS with an extremely dynamic tuning, and now even lighter wheels ensure precision and stability in every situation. These are only a few of the points that make the 690 Duke a true do-it-all bike, indescribably versatile despite all the hunger for corners. But be careful: the lightness of being single can be addictive, because every trip on the 690 Duke is an incomparable and unforgettable riding experience. - Dynamic 1-cylinder 4-stroke engine with electronic fuel injection, dual ignition, balancer shaft, and 6-speed gearbox - Max. output: 50 kW/68 PS, emissions: Euro 3 - Each sparkplug with selectively individual mapping for maximum power and refinement - State-of-the-art Bosch 9M+ ABS braking system - Precise throttle control through highly modern drive-by-wire system - APTC anti-hopping clutch - Ultra-light chrome-molybdenum trellis frame with bolt-on aluminium subframe and cast aluminium swingarm - Fully adjustable WP suspension - Brembo radial four-pot braking system with dynamically tuned ABS - New cast aluminium wheels with light-weight rims - New, lighter stainless-steel pre-silencer

SUPERBIKE 1190 RC8 R PURE SUPERBIKE The ultimate power tool from KTM. KTM designers pulled out all the stops in the art of engine building when it came to the 1190 RC8 R. The rider has one of the most powerful V2 engines of our times and one of the best chassis in the world at his or her disposal - totally street-legal. The electronic Keihin engine management with twin throttle valves regulates the modern electronic fuel injection system on the 1190 RC8 R, focusing on maximum power with predictable engine characteristics and on spontaneous responsiveness with controllable throttle response. SUPERBIKE 1190 RC8 R TRACK FOR RACE TRACK USE ONLY In MY 2013, KTM will once again offer the RC8 R production racer, “race use only” version. SUPERBIKE X-BOW R THE BENCHMARK IN THE SUPER SPORTS CAR SEGMENT When the X-BOW was launched in 2008, it was a milestone in the history of the KTM brand and at the same time a new reference in the small but elite segment of radical lightweight sports cars. From the beginning KTM has relied on premium materials, high tech and specialized know-how for the first car it has produced. The result is a sports car with purebred racing technology that is approved for road use. Included is an avant-garde monocoque made from carbon fibre such as is standard in Formula One because of its safety and weight advantage. Through the complete omission of electronic driving assist systems and comfort features, the X-BOW offers purist driving pleasure that can only find its equivalent in either riding a motorcycle or driving a formula racing car. The X-BOW R is the most powerful version of the Austrian super sports car so far and it is the result of concentrated development. In the rear of the "R", there is a 300 hp 2.0 litre TFSI engine from Audi with a maximum torque of 400 Nm ensuring an unbelievable driving experience both on and off the racing circuit – the X-BOW R is of course homologated for use on the road.

KTM RACING MOTORSPORT 2012 What environment could be better suited to thoroughly testing an engine and a chassis than a racing circuit of off-road terrain? Which test laboratory could be better equipped to drive forward advanced developments? And how better could you demonstrate the passion and expertise of your engineers? Passion, fascination and a desire for ongoing improvement drive KTM and all of its employees. It‘s only logical that a company like this has been dedicated to racing ever since it was founded. KTM has always been and will always be ‘Ready to Race’. It all began in the 1950s when Paul Schwarz and Erich Trunkenpolz, son of KTM founder Hans Trunkenpolz, roared their way to victory and second place on 125cc KTMs in the International Rupert Hollaus Memorial Race. The Mattighofen team was involved in motorsports long before it entered the world of offroad racing, in which it is now recognized as a dominant force worldwide. What followed was a story of development and success that is unique in the world of motorcycles. KTM riders all over the world subsequently went in to battle for the manufacturer from Mattighofen in Austria. Up to the time of printing they have secured a magnificent 219 world titles on all types of terrain to continue the KTM success story and stamp the hallmark Orange brand on the consciousness of motorsports aficionados all over the world. KTM have also been a dominant force in the legendary Dakar Rallye having won the epic race, widely considered the world’s toughest, 11 consecutive times after the turn of the millennium. As the 2012 racing season draws to a close KTM has also completely dominated the Motocross World Championship classes with Tony Cairoli winning his sixth world title, the third consecutive in the MX1 class on the KTM 350 SX-F and Jeffrey Herlings ending up first in the MX2 World championship se-

ries for the first time, giving to the KTM 250 SX-F the fifth World title in a row. US superstar Ryan Dungey wins the American MX championship on KTM for the first time in an impressive manner after conquering early this year the first Supercross class victory for the Austrian brand on his 450 SX-F. In the Junior MX WC, young Dutchman Caleb Grothues and Slovenian Tim Gajser win the titles in the 65 cc and 125 cc classes, respectively. In the World of Enduro, KTM already won in 2012 the World championship title in the E1 class with French star Antoine Meo and the E3 class with his country mate Christophe Nambotin. In the meanwhile Spanish rider Cristobal Guerrero is still fighting in the E2 class for the final victory. And if yet another piece of evidence for KTM’s clout in motor sports is necessary, just look at the success of Sandro Cortese and numerous other KTM riders in the Moto3 WC in year one after KTM’s return to Grand Prix racing. Held in the context of the motorcycle Grand Prix, the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup is turning into the hottest junior racing series for future GP stars and will change over to the KTM 4-stroke Moto3 racer next season. Held in the context of the World Superbike series, the KTM European Junior Cup proves that even the mass-produced KTM street bikes are still 100 per cent “Ready to Race”. In this cup, young talent from all over the world competes on identical, standard 690 Duke, giving them a chance to prove themselves worthy for more illustrious future tasks. Both series once again highlight KTM’s commitment to junior racing and motor sports. A plethora of enthusiastic employees support KTM‘s commitment to racing and enable the company to design and manufacture the best “Ready to Race” motorcycles for its customers.

COMPANY – THE KTM BRAND
PURITY
Everything for the perfect ride and not a single gram more. On the racetrack, on the road or on the trail, reduction to the bare essentials is the basic principle behind every kTm. Only high quality and well proven parts are fitted. Because this is where less is definitely more.
ADVENTURE
Racing, offroad or open country roads. KTM is up for any adventure. The very latest technology and high quality parts make a KTM your faithful companion on the road as well as off the beaten track. No goal is unattainable. Because we would never be satisfied with what has already been achieved.

PERFORMANCE With thrust out of the corners, push on the straights and effortless handling offroad, a KTM provides power and crystal clear feedback in every riding situation. We always compete with the best. Power, the will to win and dominance - on every terrain. Because we know that only performance counts.
EXTREME
Orange is a warning colour. A KTM is designed for reaching the limits of performance and going beyond. This approach is reflected in the use of state-of-the-art technology and the most radical of designs. The toughest races and most extreme demands are our benchmark. Because only so can a lead be gained.

COMPANY KTM AS A COMPANY It was 1934 when Hans Trunkenpolz founded a repair workshop in Mattighofen, Upper Austria. Three years later, he started selling DKW motorcycles and subsequently expanded his workshop, which became one of the largest car and motorcycle garages in Upper Austria. In 1951, the company started designing a motorcycle of its own and two years later the KTM R 100 production series was launched. The company, which now was officially called “Kronreif, Trunkenpolz, Mattighofen”, immediately took up racing and the successes started piling up. Erwin Lechner was among the riders who enjoyed victory after victory in 1960, racing the KTM motorcycle designed by engineer Rudolf Apfelbeck. KTM entered the US market with a 125cc motocross motorcycle in 1968, and word of the overseas race wins soon began to circulate in Europe. The highlights of the 1970s included the powerful 50 cc models and the first motocross World Championship title, won for KTM in 1974 by Russian rider Gennadij Moiseev in the 250 cc class. Riders Heinz Kinigadner and Trampas Parker laid the foundations for the modern KTM legend with three World Championship titles in the next decade. In 1984, KTM started to develop a liquid-cooled four-stroke motorcycle, commencing mass production of the first LC4 engine in 1987. The economy hit hard times at the end of the 1980s, and in 1991, the KTM Motorfahrzeugbau AG had to file for bankruptcy. One year later, the newly formed KTM motorcycle division KTM Sportmotorcycle GmbH re-opened under new management with a new Hard Enduro concept and sharp new design styling. Hungry for success, the company began to engage in rallye sport, launched the first Duke in 1994 and just MEDIA INFORMATION

one year later acquired both WP Suspension and the sports motorcycle manufacturer HUSABERG. Shane King‘s Motocross World Championship title in the 500 cc class and numerous other victories breathed now life into KTM’s sporting heritage. In 1999, the company moved into its newly built factory in Mattighofen. The Austrian company has been a dominating force in the legendary Dakar Rallye since 2001 and after adopting the now well known “Ready to Race” philosophy it has turned racing into the brand‘s main identifying feature. The 950 Adventure long-distance, dual-sport motorcycle made its first appearance in 2003, and in the same year, Harald Bartol led the factory racing team to success in the 125 cc road racing world championship. Shortly afterwards, KTM launched its first thoroughbred street bikes, the 990 Super Duke and the 950 Supermoto. 2008 sees the first Austrian Superbike, the fascinating 1190 RC8. KTM muscles into the IDM Superbike class only one year later, instantly winning the manufacturer’s trophy and conquering the riders’ title already in the second year. In 2011, the orange revolution continues in style. Early in January, Marc Coma wins the tenth consecutive KTM title at the Dakar Rallye. A year later, team mate Cyril Despres adjusts the internal team score to 4:3. When five-times Erzberg winner Taddy Blazusiak becomes SuperEnduro World Champion early in 2012 and starts focusing exclusively on his fourth title in the American Endurocross series, a new generation takes over on the Erzberg: young KTM pilot Jonny Walker wins the world’s toughest single-day Enduro. At the same time, the extremely successful introduction of the new Freeride 350 paves a different way into the world of Enduro for beginners
and hobby riders - because not everything has to be super tough all the time. While Tony Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings dominate the MX World Championship and Antoine Meo and Christophe Nambotin carve up the Enduro WC, newcomer Ryan Dungey celebrates historical achievements for KTM already in the first few races of the US season on the specially developed 450 SX-F, crowning himself the superior winner of the American MX Championship after a short, injury-induced break and even clinging on to a second place overall in the Supercross WC. Meanwhile, Ken Roczen and Jeffrey Herlings deliver impressive performances in their first complete season overseas in the small class, consistently performing on a world-class level in Supercross as well as Motocross and thereby demonstrating once more the winning potential of the current off-road generation from Austria. On tarmac, KTM enters two huge new venues at once in 2012. Firstly, after a short creative break, KTM once more competes in Grand Prix racing, this time in the Moto3 series. Secondly, launching the KTM 200 Duke in India and teaming up with partner Bajaj, the company enters the world’s second-largest motorcycle market, which also contributes significantly to the most successful intermediate business result in the corporate history. Prior to the press date, KTM managed to accrue no less than 219 World Championship titles. The 2012 season might still bring a further crown for Sandro Cortese who is in a position to win the first rider’s Grand Prix title in road racing for KTM. www.ktm.com

RACE CAMPS KTM RACE CAMPS ARE YOU READY? Enduro and MX riders are finding it ever more difficult to locate areas where they are legally allowed to practise and let really fly. Therefore, KTM will once again offer a series of professional, top level Enduro and MX camps in 2013. The trainings take place on Enduro and MX tracks as demanding as they are interesting. The chosen facilities allow for a varied and versatile curriculum for participants of every skill level from occasional trail bikers to professional racers. Over the course of a weekend, participants hone their skills and file down their lap times in systematic exercises under the tutelage of acknowledged racing professionals - the goal is not just to become better, but also faster. In the KTM Kids Training Camps, children and adolescents between around five and 16 years of age lay the foundation for their off-road riding careers. The KTM Enduro/MX Camps are offered to adult beginners, hobby riders and amateur racers. Divided into multiple segments, the KTM Enduro/MX Race Camps cater for advanced amateurs and semi-professional racers by providing riding instruction. The KTM Race Camps are open to riders of all brands who have the unbending ambition to become a better rider. In addition, thanks to several different test bikes on location, the Race Camps are the perfect chance to compare your own bike directly with a current KTM model. Get ready!
