Loyalty to the visual experience and the impulse to prevent it from slipping away are the moving forces behind Aram Gershuni’s artistic work. Keeping close to the motif that serves as his means – portrait, landscape, still life or any other image – Gershuni holds on to the primal, fragile and almost-disappearing experience in order to try and restore its existence as a painting. Gershuni dares to enter, especially in portraits, into powerful, emotionally charged fields. His works present a rich, experience-laden world that unfolds before the viewer. 27 Shaul Hamelech Ave, Tel Aviv. Tel: (03) 6077020. ONGOING EXHIBITION Helena Rubinstein Pavilion For Contemporary Art A new exhibition in honor of the pavilion’s re-opening in September, 2009. FAMILY/TREE New acquisitions donated by the Rivka Saker and Uzi Zucker Fund for Contemporary Israeli Art. The exhibition incorporates an architecture-sculpture-performance approach and includes a video documenting an installation of artist Tami Ben-Tor entitled “Normal” 2006, as well as three sizeable installations of three well-known artists: Nahum Tevet, “Question Five” 2000-2003; Guy Ben-Ner, “Treehouse Kit” 2005; and Ohad Meromi, “Who Owns the World” 2008. The three

Idiolect unites five solo exhibitions of five different artists, each presenting new works in different media. The Idiolect format came together as a site-specific curatorial tribute to the unique conditions for the presentation of solo shows created by the museum’s circular and open space. The viewing process enabled by the space is at once divided and united, numerous and singular, while bringing

to the surface the tension between the two. In light of these principles, Idiolect offers an encounter with the unique and complex language of each artist and at the same time explores the associations that arise between the different bodies of work. 6 Struma St. Bat Yam.
