The Origins Villages Pizza is a proudly Canadian company founded by two brothers, John and George Papaloukas, in Victoria, B.C. in 1974. They are second-generation pizza makers using traditional recipes and quality ingredients to create the best pizza in Canada. In 2016, Villages is under new management by former employees, Tony Sanderson and Chris Louis.
Villages Special Villages Pizza prides themselves with their unique toppings that are inspired by Papaloukas’ Italian recipe. Villages pizza only uses the best and freshest produce and meat sourced from local farmers and butchers. Their extensive menu also caters to their customer’s dietary restrictions from gluten-free pizza to lactose-free cheese. Villages Pizza Today Villages Pizza is a grassroots company, and they make sure that they are involved with their local communities, charity events, catering, and sponsorship programs. They recently launched a School Lunch Program that offers healthy options for students at an affordable price. What’s in Store? In 2018, Villages Pizza opened its first franchise location in Calgary owned by Murray Adamson and Devon Cobern. After seeing the success of their first franchise store in Calgary, Villages Pizza is planning to open a second location later this year. In the next five years, they plan to expand further out in Western Canada, as well as tapping into the east coast market. -30-

For release on January 24, 2019 CANADIAN PIZZA COMPANY LAUNCHED A SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES HEALTHY MEALS FOR STUDENTS. Calgary, AB – On January 24, 2019, Villages Pizza announced the launch of their School Lunch Program that provides an affordable and nutritious meal plan fit for all students. Villages Pizza believes that healthy eating shouldn’t be expensive. They created the School Lunch Program to ensure that all students, especially the ones who are in low-income families, get the nourishment they need. Pizza is one of the most popular lunch options for students, hence the reason why Villages Pizza decided to launch their school lunch program. All of the pizzas that they provide are topped with premium toppings, and each meal includes apple slices and juice or milk boxes. Villages Pizza takes great pride in being able to satisfy the increasingly discriminate tastes of children and meeting parents’ expectations of healthy and quality products. “We want to provide students with a meal that they will enjoy,” says Devon Cobern, owner of Villages Pizza. “We understand that each school, each class, and each child has different tastes and needs, which is why we work with parents, teachers, and PAC's to customize the perfect lunch program that fits their school.” As of January 2019, Villages Pizza is currently in partnership with James Fowler High School, Colonel Irvine Junior High School, and Buchanan School. Established in 1974, Villages Pizza is a grassroots company that started in Victoria, B.C. and has then expanded to over seven locations in Western Canada. • Split dough in half and roll each ball of dough very thin and place on greased pan. • Preheat oven to 400 F. • You can top your pizza with whatever toppings you prefer. • Bake for 18-20 minutes. • Slice and serve to your family and friends!
NOTHING BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER LIKE PIZZA Villages Pizza is known for their signature dough. It is the perfect balance of crunchy and chewy. Our resident pizza connoisseur shares how to make the perfect Villages Pizza dough. Ingredients 2 cups warm water 1 Tablespoon yeast 1 Tablespoon salt 5 cups flour, divided 4 Tablespoons olive oil (2 Tablespoons per pan) • Mix warm water and yeast. Let the mixture sit for five minutes until the yeast proofs. • Add 2 ½ cups flour with proofed yeast using a kitchen mixer or dough hook. • Add the rest of the flour, salt, and knead until smooth. Cover bowl with towel or saran wrap. Let the dough rest into a balll for 20 minutes. • Pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil onto baking sheet or pizza pan and evenly coat bottom of baking sheet or pizza pan. • Remove dough from bowl and add more flour as needed (a little at a time) to alleviate the stickiness of the dough if needed.
