With her latest work Hullo, Bu-Bye, Koko, Come In, the poet reacts to success and reflects on her position as a Black artist in White institutions, asking: ‘Why are you always hijacking our narratives with your gaze?’ With their powerful language, her texts examine the precarious proximity of hyper-visibility and disappearance, being swallowed up when one’s voice is hijacked and bought: ‘Europe asks if it can touch my hair / backspace / Europe touches my hair’.

Weaving together sound, visual design and projection mapping, Putuma creates a multimedia performance of her new poems for the stage, radically questioning the points of view between audience and performers.

Cinderella is a classic fairytale full of hope, love and plenty of magic… This production is keeping it old-school with a great modern twist. The show is full of popular numbers that’ll make the audience want to dance, voices that will wow and a whole lot of laughs. From Mambo No.5, to I Gotta Feeling, this night is going to be a great night. is, Prince Charming is looking for real love, the Queen is trying to get her son to be a strong ruler and the stepfamily is trying to climb to the station they deserve. And it’s all weaved together by the magic of the Fabulous Fairy Godmother. Oh and the Herald is capturing it all and sharing it with her TikTok fam.

Spier Wine Farm will host Constellations, conceptualised by internationally acclaimed theatre director & playwright Brett Bailey. Guests can expect a rich & memorable evening in nature at Spier, in which they enjoy intriguing encounters with a diverse array of local cultural talents.

The event takes several small groups of guests on an outdoor trail through the enchanting, wild parts of the farm after dark. The groups rotate amongst a sequence of three campfires on the path, gathering for about 35 minutes at each. Every campfire is presided over by its own unique Guardian - an artist, poet, musician, performer or storyteller - who will host an experience. No u16yrs.

Join us at the De Grendel Tasting Room for our exciting late-night Christmas Shopping event.

We will be open until 8pm for you to enjoy our wines while watching the sunset. Enjoy one of our wine tasting options, wine by the glass or our Dalewood Cheese Platters and we will have some special deals available on wine purchases.

Our new Exclusive Tasting will also be available which includes a tasting of our Proposal Hill Brut Rosé, Winifred, Op Die Berg Syrah and Sir David Graaff First Baronet of Cape Town.

Tastings will run as per normal, by appointment only from 9am - 3pm. The event is first come first served. Kindly note space is limited due to COVID regulations and social distancing – we recommend arriving early to avoid disappointment.
