OH HELLO THERE

When I'm not promoting Dorking, you'll find me shopping, exploring, living in and loving our town. I'd like to think we all know how fantastic our little slice of Surrey is. I see great potential for Dorking and I trust that you do, too. After all, each of you have opened up your business in the hidden gem of the Surrey Hills. It has been a little over a month since my team and I have started our purposeful work supporting the Dorking BID and I invite each of you to get involved, share your ideas, and join us on this journey

I am working on our integrated strategy, operations, parking, placemaking, and digital and business support tactics, updating our website and offering advisory services and signposting both existing levy payers and prospects looking to open up businesses in Dorking. We are celebrating our offerings and experiences, creating a greener, safer and welcoming Dorking, while also improving our offering for both locals and a broader audience. Next week I am meeting with our Surrey 'Crime Reduction Advisor & Design Out Crime Officer' to work on our BID Safety programme and will be sending you all a safety survey soon to ask for your input and feedback I have reached out to Surrey County Council regarding parking issues and will continue to work on this and I'm collaborating with Mole Valley on street cleanliness and a variety of other topics relevant to our business community

In order for our plans to succeed, it will take all of us working together as a team. I hope to see you all at our monthly Levy Payer Town Hall on the 5th April, 11am-1pm at the White Horse Dorking. There we all can network, chat, and I can share more about our work, outcomes and listen to your ideas.

All my best wishes,

EARNED MEDIA

Every single one of our businesses has a unique story to tell We are here to help you tell it We want to create meaningful media placements for you. This takes an 'omnichannel' approach that consists of:

Digital Transformation Creative Campaigns Placemaking Bespoke Business Support

Be featured in our Faces of Dorking campaign (for free!) by completing our Google Form here: https://linktr.ee/HelloDorking.

Have you heard of the PESO model in PR?

Paid. (In small doses.) Earned. Shared. Owned.

For us, the most valuable and meaningful kind of PR is the kind you don't have to pay for. Let others talk about how great you are (because you are!) We are pitching media outlets, writing blogs and publishing content on Hello Dorking, and we encourage you to apply for awards relevant to your industry. (We have a list!) Together we can raise your profile (and Dorking's) and generate buzz for everyone.

TUNE IN: We have already been featured in a business journal and have two radio spots lined up with BBC Surrey on the 27th March and Surrey Hills Radio 27th April.

Stop paying for PR.

THE HEART OF DORKING

Meet Tony Bateman of Eco Be

Eco Be (https://www ecobeshop co uk/) promotes sustainability and supporting the fight against plastic

Eco Be sells organic goods from nuts, seeds, pastas, rice and more to non-food home essentials and personal care items too

The main objective is to bring your own containers in which you weigh first, then you fill up with the produce (to the amount you wish) and then you weigh it all again to deduct the weight of the container so that you only pay for what produce you are buying

Pop in to see Tony at St Martins Walk, say hi and start your plastic free journey.

Be featured in our 'Faces of Dorking' campaign by completing our form or just reaching out to us at kathy@dorkingtownpartnership.co.uk.
