We've heard it so much now… this phrase that was attributed to MahatmaGandhi, it's become almost a cliché. But it does have power. The idea of being the change you want to see in the world does three powerful thing when we live by it at its first level:

1. It stops us from judging others; 2. It replaces complaining about others and projection with a reflection on ourselves;

3. It stirs us into taking action within the only thing in the world over which we have any control: ourselves.

And that is the part that should make changemakers sit up because the real work isn't trying to be perfectly virtuous or an unfailing example of benevolence to others. No, the real work is our own capacity for change. And therein lies the rub!

"We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do." – Mahatma Gandhi.

He revealed a profound spiritual truth that what we see in the world is no more and no less a reflection of what is unseen inside of ourselves. Now, I bet he didn't know how factual he was when he said that. But quantum physics proves that our world is a subjective one. We create and respond to our own interpretation of just about everything.

In all innocence, Gandhi was pointing to the foundation upon which a lot of today's spiritual and Law of Attraction teachings draw their rationale. Of course, the 'As within, so without' wisdom has also been around for millennia and written about in many ancient spiritual scriptures.

But intuitively, we understand that Gandhi was inviting us to go much deeper. He was guiding us to do the inner work that we often shy away from, the inner change beyond simply wishing or visualising, which (again intuitively) we know we must do to see shifts and uplevels in our lives!

Reading the original quote, one could understand how or why we might paraphrase what he said down to "be the change you want to see in the world", but doing so only gives us part of the story.

The bottom line is… we're pretty rubbish at it as a human race. Even the ones who've invested time and money in the $40 ish billion industry at some point (who hasn't?!) There is every kind of coaching, self-help course, healing modality, retreat, or breakthrough program under the sparkling sun out there. And when you have a conversation with your peers, or on the best parts of Social Media, you find out that nearly everybody has a problem (or three) with themselves!)

Whether we're working on our fitness, our miracle mornings, our subconscious beliefs, doesn't it seem like walking through mud in stilettos sometimes?

Here's the thing. Transformation is slow. It takes months, years or even decades.

It's time to truly listen to the old adage of "getting the same results by doing the same things" and do 'em differently! Whatever is not working! Whatever! Everything has to come under scrutiny.

Habits, relationships, aspirations, strategies, even your dreams. As much as we yearn to change and understand the quantum dynamics, we still struggle to uplevel as fast as we'd like to.

But let's take the darn spotlight off ourselves for a darn moment and acknowledge that there is a great deal of navel-watching involved in working on ourselves.

We might remember Mahatama and turn the spotlight back on the world. Because otherwise, this is just a selfish trip about getting more stuff and having better experiences. But if we are genuinely changemakers, we use that mirror that the wise man talked about and use the estate of the world as our most precious, revered guru. The world itself, in your perspective, is the source of all the wisdom you need.

Think about it..we keep talking about the world being in chaos; everything is crazy. People have lost a sense of meaning. Families are fighting over vaccines. Countries are still fighting.

We're fighting to keep up with our to-do lists. We're crazy with anxiety about climate warming. We're super stressed by technology - period. We're obsessed with Social Media. We're destabilised by crumbling world order. So what came first? The chicken or the egg? This isn't just stuff happening; it's us happening. We are creating outcomes through our own perceptions, consciousness, responses, energy and vibration.

Ok, it's hard to ignore world crises. But we can change the way we respond to it.

We can stop observing how crazy the world is (I'm hearing myself say this) and look at how crazy my head is. Well, our heads. We can change the way we respond because if we don't, we really are screwed. How on earth will we scale our businesses, movements and huge visions when we can't get a grip on our freaking minds and habits? (I'm talking to me too).

What we can agree on is that it's urgent. Your changes, desires, upgrades, transformation, healing, breakthroughs etc. are critical. Soare mine - because so are the world's.

No more clichés. The prophetic encouragement of Gandhi is so urgent; it's smoking.

And that's going to take something in you and me as never before. There are answers. There are solutions. There are miracles. There is massive collective humanitarian collaboration. There is every bit of support we need under the sun around us. There is hope. There are blueprints, and directions, and signposts, and clues. Every reason, motivation, and piece of education we could ever need in 3 lifetimes to help us be the change we want to see in our own lives, so we can do the freaking work that our beloved planet needs.

You're reading part of it. And the rest is up to you, but just as Einstein reminded us, we have to change what we do to change the outcome. We have to be a disruptor of our own status quo. An upriser, a maverick, a rebel, a warrior, a goddess, a R'Evolutionary. We need to create our own personal revolution to Re-boot Evolution. Join the R'Evolution, will you?
