Bake Me Away.. W

e are a group of 3 girls, AasthaRupwate, Priyal Shah and Sharanya Menon(as the silent partner) who love to bake. Our passion for baking is what brought us together and at the age of 17 we decided to create our own brand called Bake Me Away. Over the past one year, Bake Me Away has grown along with us as we experimented with different ingredients and techniques to try and create something wonderful. We aim to not only make things that taste divine, but are also pleasurable to the eyes and can exite all our senses. You are guaranteed to like what you taste because it is something we make because we love to and would genuinely eat ourselves. You know how in school when you would have to draw a diagram and yours would turn out so well that one of your friends would ask you to draw it for them as well, and then you would want to make theirs just like yours and maybe

even better to impress them? It's the same thing with Bake Me Away, where we want to make something that is exactly what we like and would want to have but also better than that because we genuinely want you all to enjoy it as well. We have got a variety of things to offer to you. We make different flavored cupcakes and also customized ones. Our customized fondant cakes have also become quite a hit. We make hand designed cookies that can be customized to any occasion or festival you may like. Another one of our hot sellers is chocolate mousse, which has got a very rich and light consistency at the same time. We have got cake pops and tarts and chocolates too. Our brownies and cake shot glasses are treats you don't want to miss out on either.

DHAR

FASHION

DHAR by Tanvi & Simran began from our early love for intertwined fashion. We would seldom shop from commercial stores always thinking that it lacked the "uniqueness" in the clothing that best described our personal styles. We always wanted to wear outfits (especially Indian) that were not conventional enough to be stocked at stores. What better way, we thought, than to do that by having our own clothing label! DHAR was launched for the sole purpose of reaching out to those, who like us, love a little edge in their style.

“Dhar was launched for the sole purpose of reaching out to those, who like us, love a little edge in their style. Launched in early 2015, we have been trying to showcase our designs through niche exhibitions, trunk shows and social media. We even did a small pop-up at New York where the response towards our designs was fantastic. The dream is to spread DHAR not only across the country but across the globe in the next few years because great and distinctive style is always welcomed with open arms.

As a child I always liked drawing. Those art periods in school used to be my favourite. Drawing, painting, sketching are like food to my brain. My dad is in the jewellery business, so I have seen how hard he works and I have always wanted to help him with it. So after school I knew I wanted to do something in designing and somehow jewellery was just perfect for me. I joined The Indian institute of jewellery and completed the IIJ professional course where I learnt manual designing cad and manufacturing. At the end of the course I participated in an exhibition where we choose our own concepts and

make designs manually and then manufacture the piece! Presently I'm working on some designs and I'm going and meeting people who are an expert in this field so that I can learn more. People think that after the course is done you know everything, but designing just like studies doesn't end at the course. There is still so much that I have to learn and I am very adamant on knowing everything and trying to be the best here. -Dinjal Togani

JEWELLERY DESIGNING

JEWELLERY ALWAYS FITS

Mistress Of All Languages

M

y love for languages first began in school when I was in the th 10 grade with the subject French. It was my favourite subject and I enjoyed studying it. Later I decided to start learning German as well and hence enrolled myself for it. The first few levels were really light, easy and fun. With each passing day my love for it grew and I couldn't wait what the next day had in store for me. However things changed after the 3 rd level as it got really difficult and confusing. The only practice I got of speaking, writing and reading that language was in those 4 hours in class. From the vocabulary to grammar everything got really intense and required tons of practice. There were days where I felt like giving up and just couldn't cope. But then I thought to myself that if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. Also my passion for the language made things easier for me as I wasn't studying it with disinterest. Even the smallest difficultly was like a challenge that I had to and loved to overcome. I am currently on the 5 thlevel with hopes of clearing the remaining 2 levels that are left. I want to become a language interpreter/ translator and also teach the language as it's the best way of mastering it and passing on the knowledge and my love for it. I also intend to learn various other languages such as Spanish, Russian, Mandarin and Japanese to name a few. My journey has just commenced and I have a long way to go for which I am thoroughly excited.

Pursuing, working on and achieving something I've always wished to be gives me immense pleasure and takes me to a dreamy world of my own. I've always dreamt of becoming a make up artist and also a fashion designer as everything in this field interests me in each way possible. I'd love to spread and share the way I look at fashion and makeup and also the way I personally perceive each coming trend. Since childhood I've pictured myself around decor or me decorating something which does help me connect all of the passionate dots in my head that I now see clearly. A highly creative path is something I've chosen to walk towards. I look up to an interesting future that is only

going to be a cherry on the top to something that I've already pictured. Talking about few of my experiences, I'm currently pursuing f a s h i o n d e s i g n f r o m FA D International. I've also graduated from FATMU as a Pro-Make up artist. My knowledge in the huge field of make up starts from basics from natural, neutral to glamour, bridal, retro to special effects SFX, character make up, avante garde to air brush technique and much more.. I've also worked on a private portfolio that includes various different sor t of looks and professional photoshoots! So allow me to end with "May the wings of your eyeliner always be even!"

The Sound Of Music Dushyant Deorukhkar

H

i, readers! This is Dushyant Deorukhkar, I play the drums and compose music. I would feel great to sharemy music journey with you. I was 6 when I star ted playing tabla as it developed a sense of attraction towards music. I regard my dad, Mr. Sunil Deorukhkar, my first guru and my backbone through these years. After performing for a few events during my schooling, I grabbed a taste for playing drums and composing music on my Synthesizer when I was 14 . After entering college, I met someone called Swapnil Tarphe who helped me ahead. Swapnil and I decided to form a Contemporary Folk Fusion Band named "Abhanga Repost" which is good to go. Mr. Gino Banks and Mr. Vinayak Pol (my teachers) are the ones behind shaping my drumming skills. Along with our band, I have also started freelancing for various commercial gigs. I was motivated towards this by a friend of mine, Mr. Viraj Acharya, the percussionist.Recently, I recorded Drums for an album for a Marathi movie named "Copy" (to be released). Later, in 2014 I planned of doing concerts of classical, Jazz, Pop and EDM on my Yamaha Electronic Drum Kit. Well,it was a great start for me. I gradually started getting concerts for my solos. All these stories have added to shaping my steps to good work. Through my experience, all I would suggest is to always keep updating yourself in whatever field you are and never stop learning. And always remember, “It’s never to late, to be young.” Thankyou!

Aniket Masurkar, DJ

I

first started off with renowned DJ, Dj Shiva, from Mumbai at his workshop. That was back in may 2014. I practiced with him for around 4 months and then I had my first gig at club Alibii. However there was a minimalistic crowd. As they say 'struggle is necessary for success', I started working for tag events in November. My first big time party was at Courtyard Marriott – Andheri. This event was organised by Barcode entertainment. Later on I started playing with D'Bell and F bar once they appreciated my work. Also DJ Vinod (ex resident of club Alibii) supported me. At first I was given opening sets and later it progressed to main sets. I am still upcoming and have great plans for the future. I will be playing for clubs like Tryst and Level-5 this year. DJ-ing is an art and I believe that music can bind people together. I will give my best and hope that the crowd has a great time. E-mail :amasurkar96@gmail.com

‘'Music came upto me when I was 6 years old. I had participated in a singing competition in school, that's when it all started. After which my mother put me up for vocal class where I learned semi classical as well as classical music . I gave the first two levels of the exam after which I discontinued but singing was still in me. For a lot of time I kept asking myself as to what is the purpose I am living for and the dream that I want to achieve but I couldn't get myself to answer it. Recently when my sister was leaving I recorded a song for her. I received such good responses that I decided to work harder in this field. I am so glad that I took this decision because I finally have a direction to which I can channel my life. I guess everyone should do that, when we have a passion of something we should set the goals for it and chase our dreams because our believe 'GOD IS PREPARING YOU FOR WHAT HE HAS PREPARED FOR YOU'. In the same way I am preparing myself for what he has prepared for me. So I hope I can move ahead and achieve all my dreams so that I can make my parents proud''. Riddhi R. Thakkar rt026@icloud.com

Today, I'm going to be talking about my journey to the world of music. The first time I developed an inclination towards music was when I was 9 years old, as claimed by my mother. She told me that memorising the lyrics of a particular song was a much easier and effortless task for me in comparison to the chapters in my text book. Until grade 10,I was extremely firm on pursuing BBA followed by MBA as my career but as I stepped onto the stage of a renowned auditorium, things changed ! I always participated in vocal singing events but never did I fathom that one fine day, this hobby would transform itself into my biggest passion. I came into recognition with my own self when I held that beautiful piece of art in my hand, the mic. Ever since that day, singing is all that I've wanted to do and becoming a celebrated artist of The Bollywood Music Industry is all that I've dreamt about. There are people who appreciate me and there are ones who criticize, there are people who believe in me and there are ones who don't. But, I am not fond of rules and I have no respect for the status quo. You can quote me, disagree with me, glorify or vilify me. However ,the only thing that you can't do is ignore me. FIT

D

uring hostel days,I use to weigh 110kgs ,I use to be a target in school for everyone to make fun of, which really pissed me off and ever since I decided to work on myself but I failed to. No-one took me seriously, no girl was interested in talking to me. I returned back to Mumbai and I joined MMA and within 4months of time I started fighting professionally. I have represented India for MMA. But that got no change in my body weight. It was very embarrassing fighting bare-body at such high level.

saifpambra@yahoo.com

And then, I decided to join a gym and started working really hard on my body. I use to study a lot about fitness and diets for different body types. All such incidents help me change my attitude and mental balance. Now there are people who consult me for body building tips and Ive made a positive impact on lot of friends’. Today, I'm a fitness model and I wake up healthy and confident everyday. Don't give up, it keeps getting better with time.

Laugh Out Loud! Having a future in stand up comedy is just like any other profession. One has to struggle and make their way and every comedian I have known has performed at least 100 comedy open mike shows. Just like acting and singing, it's a crazy profession. I would love to be known as a stand up comedian and hopefully one day I will get to have that one podium where people will look at me and say 'This guy is really hilarious'. That would be fun and a dream come true. Aritro Banerjee aritro888@gmail.com

STAND-UP COMEDY

I have been a stand up comedian since 3 years but I haven't been doing it commercially. I perform at college festivals and have my own Youtube channel where I upload my videos, which has helped me quite a lot. I am an actor as well but stand up comedy is a sense of relief that I get. Not many people know this but stand up comedians are the ones who make you laugh on your worst days and you would never know whether they are having a bad day or not. One can never know what goes on in a stand up comedian's mind. I was watching this documentary called Misery loves Comedy starring Robin Williams, Jim Carrey and Matthew Perry to name a few. I learned that Matthew Perry , who was the greatest character in F.R.I.E.N.D.S, did indeed live a really difficult life and that when you see him you are just laughing away without having a slightest clue that he could be having really bad days too. It's a really dangerous profession to get into, where you never really know how to read a person. Also my content is pretty much 'SUSHIL'. It is not too vulgar or dirty and caters to all the college students.

Prachi Kothari Life. A small, four letter word but holds meaning more than the universe itself. We all start as an infant. A small breathing bundle of energy and bones, an inexhaustible source of magic. As we grow old we are told to do good so that you have a good afterlife. But, does the afterlife really exist? We have no proof of the afterlife. Scientists have tried and failed to find out about what happens to humans after they die.Whatever there is, the life, it is now. Stop treating your life as a thought of afterlife. Nobody is getting out of here alive, so we might as well live life because it is the only chance we have. Eat the delicious food. Eat that cake you have been eyeing for a few days now. Wander till you find something you didn't know you were missing. Read. Read all you can, read all the childhood stories, read mysteries, just read. Recreate yourself. There are no limitations to recreating yourself. Be a phoenix. Burn down. Be ashes. Resurrect.Listen to music : old and new. Let the old remind you of your upbringing, your roots. And let the new ones tell you that this is not the end, that there are more things to discover.Do things that makes your heart soar. Believe in the things you do. Don't live life as a second option. Make the most of the only chance you have. E-mail : kothariprachi99@gmail.com

Aditya Nigam India has one of the most largest youthforces in the world. A country which is capable of reaching new heights and exploring various other arenas. Here's a reminder or a message for the youth of this country. As the future and the present generation, it is our responsibility to standup against anything which threatens the very divinity of this beautiful country. In this era of bad politics and corruption, India has been affected badly. And the capability of changing it lies only in the large reservoirs of youth in India. Crimes, Corruption, Conflicts and Wars, and the list is long but considering the power of the youth in this country, none of those problems can stand against them. A young independent country's stake is in the hands of its young and aspiring minds. We cannot change our past, but we can definitely change our future. A future which compels us to say, "Saare Jahan se Accha, Hindustaan Hamara" E-mail : adityarnigam@gmail.com Blog : addienigam.wordpress.com

Ambika Jain 1.Syrian Refugee Crisis

3.Namo's Make in India

The refugee crisis began in 2011 when nearly 4 million refugees fled their border during the civil war that occurred in Syria. The refugees initially sought asylum in Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt and Turkey. However, their standard of living was extremely low in the refugee camps which led them to flee to the European states for seeking asylum. The gulf countries as a whole have accepted 'zero' refugees which has been called as extremely shameful. Support for these refugees has come from common people and less by the politicians. The European countries are a bunch of extremely rich and developed nations and have hence accepted to take 120,000 refugees. For a situation such, countries of the world should come as a united front and accept these people who are fleeing near death conditions.

In the past year, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been making several trips abroad, the recent one being the much talked about trip to the various headquarters in Silicon Valley, California, USA. The Prime Minister first addressed the UN general assembly after which he hosted a dinner with all the major CEO's and asked them toparticipate in the growth of India. He also visited the Facebook headquarters where a live press conference was held and he warmly hugged the FB CEO Mark Zuckerburg, the photo of which went viral on the internet. Also, he visited the Tesla Motors and the Google headquarters, taking account of the various new inventions and also addressed the Indian community in San Jose.

2.The Spine Chilling Sheena Bora murder case The extremely brutal Sheena Bora murder case must be the most chilling murder case in the recent times. The facts of this case which occurred on April 24, 2012 after Sheena was deemed to be missing came into light only in August 2015, where Indrani Mukerjea, her stepfather Sanjeev Khanna and her mother's driver Shyamvar Pinturam Rai were arrested for killing and burning her corpse. Indrani's current husband Peter maintained that Sheena was still alive in the USA and was Indrani daughter before Mikhail, Indrani's son and her brother from her first husband, revealed that Sheena was in fact her daughter! However, neither knew that she was dead and this came into light only after Indrani was arrested by the Mumbai police. Indrani is currently in jail arrested under sections 201,302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

4. The astounding Dadri communal violence incident Uttar Pradesh: On 28th September 2015, fifty year old Akhlaq was lynched and his 20-year-old son, Danish, heavily injured by a mob at their home in Bishara village after rumors were spread that the family had slaughtered a calf and consumed its beef. Before the police could arrive at the scene, Akhlaq was killed and Danish, severely injured. This is one of the most severe incidents of communal violence in our nation coming days after the beef ban. The big question arises whether we as a nation should permit somebody's death on this ground. A civil society has given its report as to how Dadri is a quintessential town next door and this is a planned conspiracy. Nevertheless, this is a tough stain which BJP will find hard to remove. Satan's Deception

Home; No more a safe place, Happiness does not knock here. With urge to fly in the eyes, A little soul strongly cries.

The fallen angels rise again as saviours descending from the sky. When they gaze upon this precedent beauty, the potent heavens commence a cry. Time is fading into oblivion, ignorance is no longer bliss. It is now or never for conscience to prevail, a bitter soul to nature's “kiss. An infantry of demons, determine to reign the earth. These devils are ruling inside us, wordlessly watching us lose our worth. The demons grow founder of their reward as they move towards their goal. Without any effort they have won this war as humanity devours its own soul. The silent cry has now grown into a roar, the mighty are disheartened at the slightest glimpse. The once pure, now tainted. This fairy tale awaiting its desired prince! E-mail :sanayarmehra@gmail.com

To others home is heaven, A place where love resides. On the contrary up here right, The poor soul even breathes in fright. Happiness, security, care and love, The basics of a happy home. Ignorance, avoidance, cries and hate, What is written in that poor soul's fate? All it has is a soft heart, With faith and an aspiring dream. To achieve something and do a noble cause, Just for that one little applause! Clueless about what shall happen next, That little soul keeps living. Believes there is real good somewhere, All it can do for now is just bear. The world is not that much of a cruel place, One needs to inculcate this within. Obstacles come and go, Facing them is what makes you flow! Take up what comes be it small or big, A fighter never backs off. No external power can break you, You are strong enough to break it through! Its indeed better said than done, All those motivating quotes. With difficulties come strength along, And only those bad times shall make you strong. See that home with a new look now, Time has a tendency to change too. No matter how difficult it is to lay, For some more moments, Just Stay! E-mail :yashajhaveri75@gmail.com Blog : addienigam.wordpress.com

Life

City of Dreams

What is this life? I question God, This journey from womb to tomb, Why is it so odd? Starting from childhood, Memories we make, But in the enđ, Nothing we take. The fun begins from your birth, Where growing up seems nice, But, now you need to think twice Because growing up takes your mirth, Better are those broken pencils, Better are those lost erasers, Until you know; what are broken hearts And what are lost relations, What is the purpose of this life! Where all struggle and strive, For the living to earn. There's a lot, that you'll learn From the bunch of lessons you get, From the people you met, Life changes, it takes a turn! People will come and go, I wonder, why is it so! E-mail :sanayarmehra@gmail.com Remain only those who care, With whom every moment you share. But when this journey ends, Nobody joins you, no relatives no friends. But this cycle goes on and on, Somewhere, somehow you're reborn. The story starts again, With the same joy and pain, I still question God, What is this life! Why is this life! Why is it so odd! E-mail :shahdhruv22398@gmail.com
