MC Preface Dear Delegates, already more than three months have gone by since we met the last 4me, but we can s4ll remember very vividly how we met on SuReCos and SMV to start our journey as Gen 1516. In the months that have passed since then we all went through different journeys marked by our reali4es that nevertheless have a lot in common. We all co-‐delivered summer peak gaining first-‐hand experience in what it means to be an EB, NST and MC. We all planned our direc4ons for the term and got to see how difficult it can be to decide on what to truly focus on. We all at a certain point finally took over the steering wheels, eager to push this movement called AIESEC in Germany to new levels. At all these sta4ons, which we already went through, we had our first successes, first failures, first learnings. Many more „firsts“ are yet to come and we are truly excited that the next one will be our NatCo I! We s4ll remember how excited yet also anxious we were traveling to our first na4onal conference. Excited to meet all our colleagues, the other EBs and the MC. Excited to have cool sessions and learn a lot. Anxious at the same 4me though because nobody of us was really clear what we should expect in detail. So what can you expect from NatCo I? Some people said to me that NatCo I will be our first checkin on our journey as a whole Gen 1516. But is that it? Can you imagine the energy in a room where every single one of our en44es is presented? Just incredible. Can you imagine all the meaningful conversa4ons you will have with these great people? Just magical. Can you imagine all the ac4ons we can drive together, when we gather the brains and experiences of more than 300 young leaders in one home to learn from each other and co-‐create what will once be called the achievements of Gen 1516? Just powerful. NatCo I will be so much more than just a checkin. It will be an intense, exci4ng and unforgeXable experience where every single one of us will realize the privilege and also responsibility we have as leaders of this beau4ful organiza4on called AIESEC in Germany. 2
MC Preface When a[er four days we leave Haus Neuland, we will depart as friends. As friends united in a common cause. We all will leave with the same sense of excitement we felt when we le[ home for the first 4me to go on an adventure -‐ our high school year abroad, work & travel in Australia, moving to a new city for studying or heading to this scary interview for the best job in the world. However this 4me the adventure will be a liXle bit bigger ;-‐) Our adventure called "Achieving Ambi4on 1516" will be more rewarding yet also more challenging than any experience we have had before. NatCo I is our home where we gather a[er our first liXle field trips as leaders in order to get our big backpacks ready for this big adventure. We cannot wait to pack them together with you!

WELCOME HOME 1516
– HOME /həʊm/ n. – The place where you grew up and lived for quite some 4me. It's a thought connected to your friends and family. Maybe extended to places you’ve come to like and feel comfortable in. Whatever your defini4on is, it will be a place for which you have to take responsibility. It will not be home if you don't make it so. Sure, this has implica4ons for your being on this conference. It means you should care for your surroundings so that everybody can feel at home at Haus Neuland. In the broader, more meaningful context of Germany and the world less easily answerable ques4ons arise: What is home for people whose home has been destroyed? How is home defined for you if your surroundings change so fast that suddenly nothing familiar is le[? Could Germany be home to the world’s 55 million refugees? If not, where should their home be? Is technology, a more digitalized world a threat to the familiarity of home or does it brings us closer together? We chose the theme NatCo – This is your home exactly for these reasons. The easy ones of having a conference where we as AIESEC in Germany can feel at home, at exactly the place we are supposed to be. And to be in a place where hard ques4ons can be asked and we together can define what they mean not only for our organiza4on, but for our country to then move forward from the place we can call home to achieve what is necessary.

Of course if I answer this ques4on you will guess who I am more easily, so I will say some fun facts about me: I worked at McDonald's during my summer break, I have been part of 2 different AIESEC en44es, and I studied German for 3 years!

Home is anywhere where I can be myself and know that the people around me are cool with it. It’s the place that makes me feel confident enough to take on the next journey.
WHERE IS HOME FOR YOU?
So far, I’ve called Goslar, Münster, Bonn, Toronto and Cluj my home for a longer period of 4me – but really it’s anywhere where the points above apply.

Home is anywhere I feel comfortable coming to a[er a journey.
WHERE IS HOME FOR YOU?
It is in Öschelbronn, in Berlin, in Hamburg, in Bonn and in that cosy liXle hostel in the very North of New Zealand.

Home is where I do not feel limited in pursuing my dreams.
WHERE IS HOME FOR YOU?
For me home is not 4ed to a place but rather to how the people in a place react to me. An open and inspiring conversa4on makes me feel more at home than an open fireplace.

Home to me is a feeling, not a place or necessarily even par4cular people. When I feel connected, useful, comfortable, and free to be myself -‐ I feel at home.
WHERE IS HOME FOR YOU?
The last strong memory of feeling at home, was showing my friend around New York City and we were walking on the Brooklyn Bridge. In this moment of sharing my home, although it was only my temporary home for 1 year, with another person and showing her this magnificent city and telling her about how I was doing here -‐ I felt at home.

Home is a place where I feel comfortable, at ease, safe, in good company. It is a feeling not a specific place. Home are memories, nostalgia, peace of mind.

Physically speaking home for me are/were Croa4a, Germany, France. What made and makes these places home are the people around me with whom I enjoy spending 4me, which enrich me and to whom I can contribute.
STEPHAN | INCOMING OPERATIONS WHAT IS HOME FOR YOU?
Home is where I can be who I really am. Home is when I am surrounded by the people I love and that love me and where I can rely on support no maXer what.
WHERE IS HOME FOR YOU?
Munich -‐ Bavaria, and Clarksville -‐ Indiana (USA). While I will always feel home in these places, I do not limit home to them. Home can be anywhere if the right people are there :)

For me, home is the place, where I can feel safe, secure and relaxed. Home is the place, that enables me to face every experience and journey ahead of me, knowing that I have a safe haven to return to when I lose track and start anew for further journeys to come.
WHERE IS HOME FOR YOU?
Home for me is at 4 different places: In my appartement at Bochum, at my father´s in BoXrop and at my grandpartent´s flat in Poland I feel closely connected to my roots. The fourth place is not actually a place, because whenever I am around people I dearly care about, I also feel like I am at home.
ANAÏS | DAY OC DELEGATE SERVICE WHAT IS HOME FOR YOU? I feel at home wherever I feel comfortable, relaxed and free. Anywhere I’ve stayed a certain amount of 4me and I can walk around in my towel or/and open the fridge without asking. For me “feeling at home” and “being at home” are different, and it doesn’t have to be “your home” for you to feel at home. :) WHERE IS HOME FOR YOU? “Home” for me is always wherever my parents are living. Right now home is Madagascar :)
