About F & F Floor Covering
On the corner of Griffin St. and Sloan St. just one block off of the square in downtown McDonough, the showroom entrance to F & F Floor Covering & Carpet, settled beneath a small, but able, shade tree and mini garden, has a welcoming, small town, curb appeal. Inside, between the aisles of wallto-wallcarpet and flooring samples, business is at full throttle with customers dropping in throughout the day. At least three out of six employees will be engaged at any given time with their attention totally devoted to understanding their customers’ needs.

The company was founded in 1987 out of the friendship of Calvin Ford and Richard Fink. The two, who first met working a job in the flooring industry, founded F & F Floor Covering & Carpet in Decatur, installing carpet, vinyl and hardwood. The store front, in the very same corner spot where it still operates today, was purchased and set up by Ford and Fink for their customers to have a place to come and shop for their flooring. They incorporated in 1991 and continued building the business through hard work, quality installations and fair pricing. From sales to installation, family has always been an important factor in the business.

Richard Fink & Calvin Ford, Founders and Owners

Calvin Ford (c.) has recently retired. His son Cal Ford (l.) and daughter Stacy Cronin, both F&F Flooring and Carpet employees, are planning to continue with the business for many years to come.
A browse through their web site reveals that the company’s longevity and success is attributed to its family ties and to its spiritual foundation. Beneath a black & white photo of the two owners, which dates back to the early nineties of them on the showroom floor, is a touching tribute to Ford’s wife, nephew and partner Fink, all deceased, for their work and contribution to the F & F Flooring business.
Chamber Involvement
The company continues to be an integral part of the McDonough community providing enumerable instances of support for local causes and participating in activities. Ford who has retired from the business, has a legacy of family who are carrying on the business tradition with the day-to-day operation run by family members. Asked about why he supports the Chamber, Ford commented, “Henry County Chamber has helped produce business opportunities for old and new businesses throughout Henry County resulting in business growth without losing the ‘small town’ appeal of a community where people would want to raise their families.”
