Xtreme Fun on Wheels
570 Harris Drive, McDonough, GA 30252

Based in Henry County and booming, one of the leading businesses in the video game truck industry serving metropolitan Atlanta is Xtreme Fun on Wheels. The business is part of the multi-billiondollar mobile gaming industry that’s growing at a pace to hit $220 billion by 2022.
Founded in 2014 by Reginald Ponder, Xtreme Fun On Wheels is the busiest on weekends with wall-to-wall children’s birthday parties. During the week, it’s mostly school events. Reginald and his wife of 22 years, Sharon, share the workload —he manages the scheduling and oversees the daily operation of the units and personnel. Sharon, who is the Vice President of Finance with Bennett International Global, handles the accounting and back-end of the business primarily on nights and weekends.

Xtreme operates three game trucks that deliver the gaming experience right to your front door. Designed as a luxury, limo-style theater on wheels, each unit is roomy enough to seat 24 inside. As many as 20 can play at once inside while another eight more can play outside. And each unit comes with a Game Coach to manage play and the operation of the equipment.

Reginald says that the business has grown with very little advertising, largely by word-of-mouth from people who have seen or experienced one of Ponder’s game truck parties and followed-up to host an event themselves. Reginald remembers the first time he saw a video game truck. He was astonished at the children’s amazement and level of interaction. At the time, Reginald owned a trucking firm and was growing tired of being away from home and looking for a way to transition into another entrepreneurial enterprise.
“I did a lot of research, decided that franchising was not going to be useful, and finally settled on a provider that is turnkey. We customize the graphics, focus on quality customer service and maintain our inventory in top condition. Our customer experience differentiates us.”
The business expanded three years ago when the Ponders brought a tailgating trailer on line. This unit is most busy during football season at Falcons and college games. That may soon change as the Ponders are season ticket holders of the MLS championship winning Atlanta United and expect that the tailgating unit will be a hit as soon as it showcases.

Scheduled to come on line in July, a limosene-style party bus, transportation for weddings and party groups, will further expand and diversify the Xtreme Fun on Wheels portfolio. Both Reginald and Sharon are amazed at the success of the business and are a little cautious at the pace of growth. When asked about their plans for the future of the business, they both replied quickly, “Be careful what you ask for.”
Chamber Involvement
Xtreme Fun on Wheels joined the Henry County Chamber of Commerce in the spring of 2015 and supports several of the organization’s community events including the Annual Banquet, the Women’s EmPOWERment Summit and serves as a sponsor for the annual Teacher Induction Program (TIP). Sharon was named the Chair of the HCCC Board of Directors for 2019.
