Di.VA is the acronym for Digital Virtual Assistant. A Web portal accessible to the dentist, allows device monitoring and access to a set of useful contents for the management of dental equipment in the surgery.

Di.VA, your assistant designed to help with surgery management, is developed exclusively for Cefla devices.

Suction System

Flushing & Sanitisation

The cycle start is triggered by inserting the cannula tips in their respective connectors. The cycle is as follows:

• mains water fed intermittently for 50 seconds

• introduction of 10 ml of disinfectant liquid

• suction for another 10 seconds.

Cannula washing is only available on certain models from the Anthos range. This device allows cannulae to be washed in automatic mode, thus minimising the manual work required of the assistant.

Anthos recommends the use of Ster 3 Plus for washing and decontamination of tubing, whether executed manually or automatically. The biphenyl-2-ol contained in the products a wide spectrum disinfectant, active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi and lipophilic viruses. The product is also active in presence of organic material and hard water.

S.H.S.

Independent Water Feed System

The S.H.S. system allows water to be supplied to the dental unit via a dedicated bottle and provides two functions:

• Water feed to dental unit independently from mains water (bottle with a grey stripe)

• Tubing disinfection cycle performed in semi-automatic or manual mode

Bioster

An Optimal Process

BIOSTER is a hygiene device that carries out intensive disinfection of dental unit tubing with the Peroxy Ag+ (H2O2 3%) disinfectant - the excellent effectiveness of which has been demonstrated by numerous scientific studies - enhanced with silver ions that boost the biocide action.

Studies made by Anthos demonstrate that a dental unit equipped with the W.H.E. and BIOSTER systems ensures the microbiological quality of the delivered water with just one intensive disinfection cycle at the end of each day. In another clinical study, a working dental unit with a continuous W.H.E. system and daily execution of a BIOSTER cycle with Peroxy Ag+ (H2O2) disinfectant kept the bacteria count in the delivered water at zero.

The BIOSTER process with Peroxy Ag+ has been scientifically validated as providing high-level disinfection and as an effective mycobactericide, bactericide, anti-Legionella bactericide, yeasticide and 99,6% sporicide.

AUTOMATIC INTENSIVE DISINFECTION SYSTEM (A7, L9)

BIOSTER S

Semi-Automatic Intensive Disinfection System (L6, R7, A5. A6)

The semi-automatic intensive spray circuit disinfection system, BIOSTER S, is an equally effective alternative to the automatic system. A second tank, identified by a yellow stripe, is provided to store the disinfectant liquid. This is to be connected to the dental unit in place of the independent feed tank.

The system simultaneously treats all the selected circuits.

• Arrangement of instrument tubing ends in the special container above the cuspidor bowl

• Insertion of disinfectant tank in place of independent feed tank

• Disinfectant flow start command

• 10-minute contact pause at end of flow

• Reconnection of independent water feed tank or selection of mains water

Flushing

The Flushing function carries out a complete change of the water in the tubing with a timed liquid flow. It doesn’t perform any disinfection but simply carries out fast replacement of liquid in the circuit. This is particularly useful for eliminating stagnant liquid from tubing after the dental unit has been idle for some time (e.g. at the start of the working day).

W.H.E

Continuous Disinfection

The automatic W.H.E. Device continuously adds disinfectant to mains water fed to the dental unit. It thus provides real-time protection against entry of contaminants into the tubing and, over time, exerts.

An antibacterial action that ensures delivered water has excellent hygiene levels.

The Peroxy Ag+ disinfectant (based on hydrogen peroxide, H2O2, with silver ion enhancement) has an antibacterial action which is more effective than that attainable with hydrogen peroxide only (H2O2). [2]

The W.H.E. system automatically adds Peroxy Ag+ to mains water at the dental unit inlet at a concentration of 600 ppm (like H2O2); this acts against all water-borne contaminants, including Legionella, as demonstrated by in vitro testing at this concentration [1]. The disinfectant continues to act in the tubing: in vitro tests have shown bacterial concentration reductions of up to 5 logarithms in 40 minutes of contact [2], as normally occurs during tasks that do not involve water consumption and during inter-treatment pauses. Repeated checks over a three month period on a working dental unit have shown that, with regular use of the W.H.E. and daily application of an intensive BIOSTER disinfection cycle, bacteria counts were constantly maintained at zero, clearly demonstrating that water delivered with the W.H.E. offers outstanding hygiene [3].

In addition to continuous action against entry of waterborne contaminants and permanent action in the tubing, the W.H.E. system has an important secondary function: it separates the dental unit water circuit from the mains water supply via an EN 1717-compliant inlet air gap device.

The high quality of water delivered by the dental unit is also achieved through conscientious design of all parts and water circuit components on Anthos dental units and careful selection of materials chemically compatible and suitable for contact with drinking water as per the strict standards defined by German law and certified by DVGW.

Having bought a CEREC® 3D ‘redcam’ back in 2006, I have now moved on to an Omnicam and I have to say, its integration with the ORTHOPHOS XG 3D CBCT is outstanding. The Omnicam is much easier to use in terms of quadrant and full arch scanning with graphics that simply leave the patient amazed. This means repeat business is commonplace and you get high-quality restorations that fit every time.

The workflow with CEREC is totally digital so there are no inaccuracies with impressions or model casting. In fact upper and lower scans and bite registration can be carried out faster than it takes a silicone impression to set in the mouth. When you consider the vast investments that dental laboratories are making in CADCAM then you have to question why the whole process starts with an ‘analogue’ impression.
