ENDODONTIC WORKFLOW
Endodontics is a common branch of dentistry, with many patients needing endodontic treatments during their lives. All about preservation, by diagnosing, treating, and preventing dental pulp and root canal issues, endodontists can save damaged or infected teeth from extraction.
To achieve a successful endodontic treatment, you need the right products, and that’s where Henry Schein comes in. From files to paper points to sealers, we’ve got you covered.
Let’s explore the endodontic workflow after diagnosis step-by-step and see how we can help you achieve a healthy, confident smile for your patients.
STEP 1 - DIAGNOSIS
The most important aspect of performing an endodontic procedure is to first correctly diagnose the tooth. We can advise you on a range of tools to help you understand what’s going on with the patient’s tooth: from digital imaging through to endo sprays. STEP 2 - ACCESS
Access is the critical phase of endodontic treatment, where the endodontist creates a portal of entry through the tooth’s crown to access the pulp chamber and root canals. With the right tools and precision, the endodontist can remove the damaged or infected tissue, opening the door to successful treatment.
Having access to the best endodontic tools, like Henry Schein’s Maxima Gates Glidden Drill, Peeso Reamers, and Headstrom Files, can make all the difference in achieving a smooth, efficient access and setting the stage for a successful procedure.
Gates Glidden Drill

STEP 3 - EXTRIPATION
Once access has been gained to the tooth’s root canals, the endodontist will perform an extirpation, which involves removing all the damaged or infected pulp tissue from inside the canals. Using precision instruments like files, reamers, and irrigating solutions, the endodontist will thoroughly clean and shape the canals to ensure they’re ready for the next stages of treatment.
Having access to the best endodontic tools, like Henry Schein’s Barbed Broaches, is crucial for achieving the precise cleaning and shaping required during the extirpation step.
HS Barbed Broaches
Sterile barbed broaches in ISO sizes for removal of pulp tissue during root canal treatment.
• Used for apical preparation and can also be used to prepare body of canal.
STEP 4 - DEBRIDEMENT
During the Debridement step, the endodontist removes any remaining infected or damaged tissue from the root canals, ensuring the canals are thoroughly cleaned and ready for the final stages of treatment. This pivotal phase requires precision and efficiency, which can only be achieved with the best endodontic tools.
With Henry Schein's range of debridement solutions, including the HS EDTA Syringe and Maxima K File, endodontists can achieve optimal debridement, removing even the tiniest bits of debris and bacteria from the canals.
HS Disposable Syringe Sterile Luer Lock
3-part disposable syringes.
• Smooth flow, tight, synthetic rubber piston.
• Latex-free, pyrogen-free and PVC-free.
HS Endo Needle Closed End Side Port

STEP 5 - DRYING
After debridement, the endodontist will dry the root canals to prepare them for filling. Moisture can compromise the effectiveness of the filling material, so it’s important to ensure the canals are thoroughly dried before proceeding.
With Maxima Paper Points from Henry Schein, endodontists can achieve a precise and efficient drying process, setting the stage for a successful procedure. Having access to top-quality endodontic tools can make all the difference in achieving a thorough and precise drying, ensuring the success of the final stages of treatment.
