The top 10 considerations

1 Preparation is vital:think about the changes you want to make, remembering to consider what other building works may be required and what contractors you may need. 2 Space:having enough space to work in is critical, we can help you choose the right equipment, and where to place it to allow yourself and your assistant plenty of room to move freely around it. 3 Patient entry:we’ll take into consideration the entry point to the room and whether the patient can get in and out easily. 4 Showcasing your technology: have your lasers or CADCAM equipment out on display. 5 Privacy: consider a specific consultation room, especially good for anxious patients. 6 Engaging the customer: improve patient understanding by showcasing your CEREC® milling units. 7 Waiting room:it’s recommended that people in the waiting room cannot see directly into the treatment room. 8 OPG room:locate your OPG in a separate dedicated room - this will need lead lining protection if there are partition walls. 9 Multiple surgeries: you may want to think about a central suction system to provide suction to all surgeries with security. 10 Decontamination:it’s best practice to have separate clean and dirty rooms, if space allows.

We understand how to get it right

One of the most important considerations is to decide which style of treatment centre you want (over-the-patient, traditional, continental or side/track delivery), as this will affect the space required. Cabinetry is essential for a working practice and we source robust, affordable and aesthetically pleasing products with a range of bespoke options. If you’re short of space, we can offer suggestions on equipment which can be folded or moved away as well as the ideal location of your intraoral X-ray, suction motor, your PC, worktop equipment such as the VistaScan Mini and location of electrical sockets and sinks. When planning your decontamination room, we can optimise space to create a distinctive workflow with set down, wash and rinse sink, washer/disinfector, autoclaves, inspection and cooling/packing areas - starting from the dirty area and ending in the clean area.
